Missed on this top 5 was geometry. This drastic mis step doesn’t tell the consumer if the bike is more extreme trail worthy or better yet for bike packing or simple trails, gravel graded paths, road or pavement
I freaking love hardtails. I just picked up niner air 9 aluminum hardtail. Already upgraded it with magura m8 pro brakes. And industry nine 1-1 wheelset
Wow it seems everyone have their own preferences of HT...LOL. Whatever you ride and customised it to your needs of fun in your own ways...that bike will be your best bike. So cheers guys...enjoy your rides!!!
Ooooh...ya missed a bunch...and the best. And the best are the brands that don't advertise everywhere. Cotic, Ragley, Whyte, GT(Zaskar LT), and Marin. I did have a 2020 $473.00 Schwinn hardtail from Walmart(sold-it). Equipped with Weinmann wheels, 29x2.35 Kenda tires, Shimano Zee components and a Suntour Aion 29 fork. Of all the expensive hardtails in my basement, this one was definitely the workhorse that refused-to-die.
@@goOutdoorZone I keep seeing these “best hard tail” vids that leave out one of the best spec’d hard tails out there. I don’t own one, I just keep hoping I hear reviews and thoughts these channels have about it and it feels like there’s an industry wide dislike of the brand. I was just asking. Thx.
The Whyte 905 is the best hardtail, year after year, wins every long and short term test, every review, when you think the rest are closing in.......it excels again.
Love the look of these aggressive hardtails. Not sure if it would replace my enduro rig, but would be fun to switch it up from time to time. I imagine they climb far better too!
FYI, on heavy commercial airplanes, so-called "aircraft grade" 6061-T6 aluminum is pretty much only used on interior cabin components like trim and brackets on partitions, lavatories and galleys. But for the primary structural components of the airplane, 2000 and 7000 series aluminum, with its higher yield strength, is widely used. So 2000 and 7000 series aluminum is what I'd call "aircraft grade" aluminum. But you're not going to weld a bicycle frame together with those alloys.
Top 5 based on what? Every bike is different for different riding styles. This is just another dumb top 5 lists to get views. Talking about an aluminum chameleon but is showing the carbon model..says it lacks water bottle mounts when it has two..
Everything functions properly ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Nothing was damaged in the box aside from a decal on the fork. The decal was missing a piece of a corner but I ended up peeling them off anyways. Assembly is easy BUT make sure you tune up the derailleurs. Both the front and rear need adjusting. I'd advise going to a bike shop but I opted out and put in 10+ hours with the help of UA-cam. Ended up fraying a shifter cable but all in all I learned from the experience. The Brakes work well but the front caliper needs adjusting or at least mine did because the rotor was rubbing against the pads. Make sure you swap out the seat, grips, and pedals. For the short run you'll be fine though. I've read that this bike isn't built yet for hard trails but I just need it for the city. PA has some of the worst roads and being in a mountain this was a great choice. Worth the investment!

Noted. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
They completely missed the best hardtail imho - the Nukeproof Scout
They are good, but i think they're overrated. Smaller manufacturers from Canada,UK and Colorado and Arizona produce the best quality hardtails.
@@dolphin-studio you got any recommendations? Looking to buy my first hardtail and like to hear as many opinions for research as possible.
The best upgrade on my hardtail was installing the PNW Coast dropper. It is the ONLY dropper with 40mm of air suspension. It saved my lower back.
Whoa! That's great! Thanks for sharing.
same here, absolut best hardtail product for me
whats the Point of a hardtail then
Not on this list but I have a Trek Roscoe 9 on order for May, can't wait. Love me a hardtail.
Thanks for sharing!
Trek is simply overrated for its price
@@silver_c1oud Try getting much else in Australia at the moment mate, it's hard to get hold of anything good

What about the Commencal they rock COMMENCAL META HT AM RACE 29
One of the most versatile hardtail MTBs out there!
I freaking love hardtails. I just picked up niner air 9 aluminum hardtail. Already upgraded it with magura m8 pro brakes. And industry nine 1-1 wheelset
We hope you're having a great experience! Thanks for sharing though!
Specialized Fuse Comp for 3k is basically the same bike with same geometry as the aluminum Diamondback Sync’r that was $750 end of 2022
Thanks for sharing!
Love my Santa cruz chameleon! It's a shredder
Absolutely!
Where were the trails located for the testing? Interested in riding them myself
Durango, Bentonville, Park City, and sometimes behind our houses.
The Stoic 4 got DT Swiss M1900 Rims and not the Alexrims. Got mine yesterday 👌
We stand corrected! Thank you for pointing out.
Great Vid! Thanks for the content. I'd like to throw the Yeti ARC into the mix. It's the Ferrari of HT's imo.
Good choice! Noted!
I agree. It is snappy, but it's frame is a gem, both in weight, design, and feel.
@@j.albertogratacos2076 But Expensive
@@demitriousjim I agree. But when you're doing a video of the best 5 you should not have a price cap.
Great job on the video
Do you have any information on the Trex Marlin?
Cross country MTB, a great one!
... Beginners 101 need apply.
good info for the intro rider.
Glad you think so!
what you guys think about Trek Roscoe 9 ?
Haven't had the chance to ride it yet! But considering the price and Trek reliability, we don't think it's going to disappoint us, the riders!
What? No mention of the Schwinn Axum DP?
For the amount of money you got to invest in that thing to make it more enjoyable you light as well buy a better Hardtail
Wow it seems everyone have their own preferences of HT...LOL.
Whatever you ride and customised it to your needs of fun in your own ways...that bike will be your best bike.

For me, I ride 2020 specialized fuse comp 29 coz of it's adjustable drop out frame and it's my all rounder bike.
Well said!

Thanks for sharing.
You should also talk about the prices
You can find the prices from the link in the description. Noted though.
I guess there’s some anti-Trek ppl at the channel? The Roscoe 9 released for 2022 hits the geometry and components some of these wish they had.
Absolutely no anti-trek people here!

All nice but you're forgetting about the Trek Roscoe 9
Thanks for the suggestion. We'll check on it.
I want GT avalanche
orbea laufey , and gt zaskar
Any review that has “pedals not included” in the cons list is a review to be taken with a grain of salt.
Quite possibly the worst video ever made
Where's Dartmoor Primal?
Funny thing is that when people say hardtail, most only see a trail or enduro mtb. XC bikes have hardtails too fyi.🤦🏻♂️
Thank you so much for sharing!

I WILL ALWAYS STICK TO THE ALUMINUM ALLOY HARD TAIL FRAME. CARBON FIBER? NO! I DON'T WANT TO GAMBLE MY FUN SAFETY RIDE. MY OPINION.
Fair enough!
Then there are Canadian brands like Rocky Mountain, Kona, Devinci, & Norco.
