Building on more than a quarter of a century in the game, it came to absolutely zero surprise that Steve Rachmad - Holland's techno forefather - blew the doors off our Dekmantel stage on our final day at the festival. Performing as his hypnotic techno alter-ego Sterac, Steve worked up the intensity notch by notch, masterfully oscillating between tension and release. A truly stunning final flourish to three outstanding days in Amsterdam.

I can't comment on what "people" do.
My opinion (and it's just that) is that he's far better a producer and DJ and not as prominent as some "representatives" of techno music. Underrated is possibly the wrong term, most people who know him rate him highly, perhaps under-appreciated is a better way of putting it.

Some of the keech dj's i've seen on the BR videos packing out that festival space. Whilst Rachmad lays down pure techno badness and it's not exactly packed.
This is like Rachmad from his Mezzo days, what a joy to hear.

Anyone that has ever seen him plat at berghain will know the marylin manson edit of beautiful pêople he did especially for bh, he played it last september then norman nodge closed his set at bh with iut a few weeks ago then last sunday Sterac dropped it again, everytime I have gone INSANE! Also floorpan, never grow old sounds unreal on that funktion one at berghain!!
