  • Fathers have a profound impact on their children's lives, yet an estimated ten million kids in the US see their dads less than once a month. Through his advocacy and mental health center, therapist Charles C. Daniels, Jr. empowers fathers to be more present by providing mentorship and community, so they learn to forgive their own shortcomings and, most importantly, learn how to reconnect with their kids.

My father was absent for most of my life. While I struggled with poverty, behavioural issues, drug abuse, and minor crime, his absence was also the motor for my ambition and determination to excel in life. I earned 3 University degrees, got married, had kids, and built a 7 figure business from scratch.
I later realised all that was an attempt to impress him and get his attention.
Only this year I spent some time with him. We built a shed together. This was healing for both of us. He looked younger and I finally felt I didn't need to impress him any longer.
    I finally felt accomplished.

This is so incredible for the speaker to see past his ego and see his father who he really was, just a suffering human soul in this world.

My father disowned my gay brother and abandoned me when we were young. Before I was 18, I saw him maybe 5 times and it was always awkward. I was 18 the last time I saw him then he ghosted me. That was 20 years ago. I'm grateful my son has a better father than I did.

Perfect time to share. Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there! It is my prayer that if you’re one of these fathers he is talking about and you are estranged from your children, then you will reach out to this organization or somewhere else that you trust for help to make your relationship right with your kids. As well if any single moms are reading this, then both parents please remember to NEVER badmouth your children’s other parent in front of them or where it will get back to them. Children deserve two good parents and if one isn’t, trust me, they will see for themselves in time and will form their own opinion without your help. The world is already a cruel place but we all have the ability to make it a little better if we try. We can start by simply being a little kinder to ourselves, our children, our ex spouse, and our neighbors. We can try by not allowing bitterness to grow inside and finding positive ways to work through negative emotions. Some of these ways can be: spiritually, praying and / or meditating; creatively, such as any form of arts or crafts, writing such as poems, lyrics, or simple journaling; physically such as a walk, run, swim, bike ride, etc, anything where you can release your anger and bitterness and work towards forgiving the person who wronged you. In this day and age, it’s easier to recognize that everyone is dealing with something. We each have our own cross to bear. But if we stop and try to remember this then it is easier to not allow negative emotions to take over and we become much happier in our lives.

Talking about the pain openly and without any shame or guiltiness is already a huge step towards the healing process. Hence why it's very important to acknowledge the signs within a dysfunctional family. Or else we give birth to ill children and the idea that two adults keep feeding generational disorders is such a tragedy. Kids need healthy/tough love and empathy from their parents in order to become responsible citizens. What happens when both parents are suffering in silence while encountering difficulties to express their feelings?

"LOVE IS FLOWING FROM YOU, and today you can attempt to experience this and to release those things that obstruct it. Without judgment, without illusion, without fantasy and without the limitations of a purely human viewpoint, you will see that love is flowing from you. You will see that all your frustration in life is your inability to experience and to express this love which wishes to flow from you. Regardless of the circumstances in which your frustration arises, it is always because you cannot express love. Your evaluation of difficulties and dilemmas can certainly conceal this fact but cannot deny its existence."

@Greg LeJacques That’s mysterious but there is a Way, certainly. What comes to my mind now is a book called ”The Spirituality of the Greater Community.” It will introduce you how this actually can be attained. Not a result of merely believing or wishing. You can find this book online as well.

Yes all people, not just fathers - need to know that their actions have consequences - but that they also must be forgiven and shown love when they ask for it. Be the change you want to see in the world in the way you love others. In the same way that God loves us despite being sinners.

Trusting in you Jesus even though I’m struggling putting groceries in the refrigerator, and paying bills. I lost my job because I declined the vaccine. I declined because of my pre existing health condition (Lupus) and Heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption from Forsyth Hospital. My husband passed away three years ago, Im all alone. I’m a single mother. Both of my sons are autistic. Every month is a struggle, a battle to not end up on the streets. I’m so depressed and embarrassed by my situation. I post my story all over to spread awareness of what mandates are doing, not just to myself but to many other families. I’ve been put down and mocked because of my circumstances it truly hurts me. BUT even after all these things. I STILL HAVE FAITH GOD WILL PROVIDE. HE HAS THIS FAR. He has sent strangers to help me. I’m forever grateful! This is my testimony! GOD HEARS PRAYERS! EVEN as I face homelessness seemly every month with two young children. I know our Heavenly Father will provide. Thank you Jesus.

As someone who understands and had the same experience until I put him away in prison, I will tell you that forgiveness is never for the other person. It’s always for you first and last. It’s a journey and there’s no formula to “achieving it”. You didn’t deserve what you went through, but I do hope that you find peace and healing ❤️❤️

I'm only at 02.30 and already need a break. I'm struggling with all of that issues as well. And there's this huge hole in my heart, that constant pain that never goes away. I don't know how to handle it.... The only way to make that pain a little better is medication, too much of it. I'm gonna finish watching this soon, can't do it right now. Thank you for talking about that topic. Unfortunately many people still (in 2022!!!) don't understand the impact of absant fathers. This makes me so angry. So many people struggle all of their life because their father wasn't there. Ouch. 😔

After I saw the video, it was discovered that the child in America rarely met his own father. This has a bad impact on both boys and girls who will feel a lack of affection from a father. This will also cause social problems such as poverty, dropping out of school, and so on. Therefore, it can be concluded that in our lives, we really need a father. Because the presence of a father greatly affects the life and goals they want to achieve.

There are many fathers that want to be in their kid's lives on a daily consistent basis, but due to court biases or parental alienation carried out by the children's mothers, the father's are pushed out of their kid's lives. This speaker did a good job of summarizing the difficulties that plague kids that don't have a father figure in their lives. Our society needs to start treating fathers as equally important to the lives and well-being of children as their mothers.

My father was a pedophile. I could never have children because of him and what he did to me. I've had 5 miscarriages. I was told in 2013 by my ex-mother that she knew. She told me I was 7 when it started and how I used to yell for her to come get Dad away from me. Never knew what it was like to have a normal childhood. My son's father was abusive, physically and emotionally. To the people who have had REAL fathers, you are extremely lucky.
