Yep! This comes up just about every Friday night and during the Club 6400 reunions at Numbers (300 Westheimer) AND on the Friday and Saturday night mix show on 103.5 KCYB FM.
I'm still listening to this November 2022... ".... listen to the echo from both you and me..." TEXAS!!!! This tune is from Bryon, TEXAS!!!! And it still thrives at Numbers Night Club in Houston, Texas to this day in their Classic Numbers Fridays or in their 6400 Saturdays.
This is one of the greatest underground tunes ever made. But it was only pressed in Bryan, TX. It’s actually from West Midlands in the UK by Malcolm Heath and Mike Evans. But who cares! It’s amazing. I’ve got 2 unopened Blue Vinyls still with the Record Rack price tag on them!!
For those that missed the Houston club scene in the 90’s.. it was a great time! Only social media was a beeper... people from all parts of the city hitting downtown for a few hours of debauchery !! Epic times
Heard this whilst tending bar in the back of dance floor at Red Square! And served drinks while they played this at Club Lexa in back area of Casablanca Restaurant. An'one membah' that place?
I remember all the late 80's, 90's & 00. The music, the people, how we all just were out having fun & trying to enjoy ourselves. Nothing will ever compare to it again nothing ...
#NUMBERS, Pacific Street, Heaven, man the late 80s and early 90s were the best in Montrose. Houston was a happening time to be young and having fun. With your Dr. Martin's. 😉
Drunk, stoned, dancing to this for hours. What a great time it was. Nobody looking for trouble, just good times. Lucky I have several copies of this on 12 inch vinyl.
It is sad to think that todays teens are probably stuck sending whatsapp messages to their friends on a Friday night or watching porn instead of socializing like we did it back then...old school. The 80s were some of the best years of music...you had everything at once...club music, new wave, classic rock, glam rock, rap...everything. Gone are the days of the rock bands. Sad.
Houston was the place...esp in those days. I feel sorry for these youngsters that have no idea what is like to just dance and party without the distraction of a phone. Smh
These were some of the best nights of my life. 6400/ Power Tools / SOME / Lizard Lounge / Liquid 25 & Pharmaceutical Adam. Moments in Heaven which are forever in my soul. Don"t forget Section 25 - Looking from A Hilltop. It's 2022...besides numbers is there anywhere close to these old gems to still go to? Just moved back to HTown and ready to get down.
We used to drive into Houston from AUSTIN for some excellent after hours clubbing. Club 6400 was our first stop.Make no mistake, ATX had a fine slew of club DJ's (Merzhad Moosavi). Chris Chambers/ Phildo Owen/Dj Thaddeus, et al. Houston DJ's were tops too .
I had a fake ID and I used to go to Club 6400 all the time until it burned down of course. Then it was about Xcess!!! Netwerk! Club AM, Lizard Lounge, Numbers on Wednesdays, Ocean Club, Cars, Cars 2, and then Powertoolz.
Who remembers Tantra or something behind the Ritz? After-hours club. You would leave 6400 or Lizard Lounge, Powertools, Sharkdance, Detour, Netwerk..probably more but my mind is still dazed from those daze.
always sounds good especially from the 80s first record brought from ruby reds records in Wolverhampton westmidlands as you may know colm 3 is based from Wolverhampton just to let you that i am originally born and breed in wolves thanks for a brilliant music many thanks
I also spent many a hour in that shop even remember buying this, straight from work for new tunes...oppsss wages gone again :) Even used to chat to the owner down the Oddfellows pub Compton, good days pal :)
That place has gone through several name changes and ownerships throughout the years. From Fizz (1984-86), Hippo (1986-88), Club 6400 (1988-89), Peter's Wild Life (1992-94), T-Town (1999-2002) and so many others I forget nowadays.
