We head out from our base camp in Strahan, Tas and make our way to the entry tracks. With our tyres lowered we start traversing the North-west Dundas Tramway.
Not only does this track take us to the closest carpark to the falls themselves, but it has some history as well.
We slip and slide along some of the tracks and have to get the winch out at one point too.
We hope you enjoy this episode and hopefully have given you a new track to explore on your next visit to Tasmania!
Join us as we continue to explore the stunning Tasmanian Island!

What a pleasant change to see someone that can actually drive properly and not wreck his vehicle or the track.
Great family adventure!
Nice to see a real 4wd video, good job totally agree when solo don't take too many risks. love your vids keep it up
Teagan! 👍👍 Great episodes Nathan.
Tegan " good driver" 😁
Great vid. Awesome track. Great driving. 👍🏾👍🏾
Cheers man, was a fun track.... for some 😆
Nice vid, good truck
Montezuma Falls is an absolutely fantastic sight , clear fall of about 150 metres, except you didn't film it. May not have been working on this day as it was so dry. A seventeen km track in , or a 4.5 km easy walk from the other side. I have walked in a few times , but never driven
Looks like another great spot. Great fun. Young Will looks like he's had a big day in the back there on the way back to camp. How do kids do that when the track is so rough? Another great video. Thanks Peterj 😀
Was a big day in the car, that's for sure! Yes, William was out of it on the way back 😆 Surprised he can sleep in those conditions 😴
They do well for a single day, I wouldn't want to try and push multiple big driving days on them in a row... would be a difficult scenario!
Greta work Tegan my wife is the same when it comes to 4x4,ing , another great vid in you series around Tassie.Thank you.
Haha, for sure. It's not everyone cup of tea! Thanks mate 👍
Incredible destination, a great episode and fantastic footage.
Well done, great trip!
Who else’s wife would hold up a tree with her bare hands while hubby sits relaxed in his air conditioned car as he passes by. She has to be “superwoman”. Well done Teagan. You have amazing patience! Great episode and thoroughly enjoyed it
My wife would. It’s about finding someone a correct match……
This is a great track for the family if u hurry through the easy stuff..
Was an awesome track 👍
@@XploringOz If you are heading to Penguin from the East, take the first exit off the highway and turn left..keep going past the motorcross track, there's a couple of tracks through the dial range
Well done Tegan showing off your superhuman strength skills very good. Bit like my wife she has them as well LOL. Nathan I may have missed the clip but why have you gone back to the standard size rims and tires from your different profiles that you were running in W.A. Thanks, Dave 0:05 once again, thank you very much for your series from a 200 owner myself. I get a lot out of it and learn a lot what to do and what not to do with my vehicle.
Thanks mate, sorry its taken me so long to reply to this 😬 But I have found it now 😉
The rims themselves are still the same, they are the methods NV305 18x9" with a +25 offset. The tyres were changed on the trip to something a little smaller, but that will change again this next year haha 👍
Thanks Nathan for replying I know you’re busy so I don’t mind how long it takes you to answer the questions. I just appreciate you getting back to me. Merry Christmas happy New Year to you and the family and a safe one. Dave
Thanks mate, always happy to help where I can 🙏 I hope you had a great Christmas and NYE's 👍 @@David200-
Gone back to the pre cleaner?
Seeing dust build up fast or just a belt and suspenders approach?
its a great track hey! did it in 2020
Sure is mate! Loved it. Hard to know what to expect before hitting the tracks, would be nice to have done it in convoy 👍
Nathan another great episode, you are right Tegan did a stellar job on that rocky jump up..I know what my wife would have said😅 .I noticed you are running the Donaldson preclear all ok with PowerCore?
Thanks mate, was a great track 👍
This was just before we switched back to a RAM styled inlet, so its not new 😉
Well Nathan, all this footage done was annoy me.
2021 we were down there, falls on my list of to do things.
Everything I read, anyone I asked I was told it's inaccessible too challenging.
I had others with me, so I erred on the side of caution, then you show me this.
I always tell myself, just do it, in this instance I opted out, now wished I hadn't, oh well, at least I know what to expect if I ever get to do it, thanks mate.
Hope the wheelin up north is going well possibly getting a tad warm I expect!
Poor Tegan
She did a great job ahad to do it as no one else to help out
Not something my partner would do not that were set up to do this sort of driving.
I just know she wouldnt do it
I did it solo in an unmodified Prado, with minimal 4wd experience back in approx 2007. Bit Foolish but I got lucky😂
Awesome, that would have been good fun! At least you got out there are did it right? 👍
We did it in 2013. I had my new stock triton dual cab. We did it again in February this year. Comparing the two drives, the track in 2013 was quite easy. It has degrade a lot in the 11 year gap. We enjoyed it again, but it is obvious to me that while Tassie has brilliant places to go, their national parks service obviously has a policy of no track maintenance at all. Given the poor condition of the track this time around, I wouldn't go again in the future, as it will become un passable for most vehicles in a few years time.
Golloed my Son up there in his Pagero in a stock Ranger once committed no turn around she did ok more narly than this vid very whet only cost me 6 grang . Mechanical ok outside.mmm .But proud we did it.
Awesome, that would have been fun! Certainly a doable track in most conditions, as long as we are aware of what needs to happen if we get stuck 👍
