I agree with all your suggestions for “Got Nxt”. I’d add a ranking system, championships & contests (dunk, shooting, trick, first to “Gamebreaker”, etc.) too for more replay value & competitiveness.
i’ll never be able to explain how dope it was during the EA BIG years to have the mario crossover with this game and other BIG titles. dunking on lebron with luigi was cold!!
Honestly for The Run Got Next, I truly believe this game will succeed with amazing character creation. It will kind of struggle if there aren’t nba players in it. To counter it though, they should implement character creation and customization from head to toe which includes skin tone, height, body type(buff, skinny, fat, slim, etc), face presets or even detailed facial feature altering with sliders(cheekbones, chin, eye height, color and size, etc.) hair and facial hair, and clothing and accessories.
Side Note: They absolutely must allow created characters of any height and size to put their attribute stats on any skill with no limit. For example a 6’8 player can have maxed ball handle and speed if they want, and a 5’10 player can have a max block and dunk. It’s an arcade game so it should not focus on realism due to what would make sense based on a character physical features, but it should appeal to every players dreams no matter if they are a girl, boy, short, tall, skinny, fat, etc. Plus we are in a new day and age where there are tall players irl who handle the ball extremely better than short players, and there are short players who jump higher, and do more crazier dunks than tall players.
The dopest thing was that this thing was a damn dictionary on culture. I learned about not only nba legends but street basketball culture from this game. I’ll never forget visiting NYC in 2012 and walking past “The Cage” and realizing it was from nba street Bol. 2. Courts I have been to from the games include: Venice beach, the cage, Rucker park, greenlake park.
NBA street homecourt was the last NBA game I played until getting into basketball last year. I was honestly shook to find out it never continued. 2K was always to bright and boring to me. Growing up in NYC, I spent a lot more time around playground courts than Arenas
hope the run got next can be taken somewhat seriously, like played competitively, ive been a fan of 3on3 freestyle for a few years, knowing the game is extremely pay2win its still addicting and fun most of the time. but that game also has mechanics and balancing to make it be taken seriously amongst the small competitive community. meta changes every once in a while and things of that nature.
Maaaan thanks for this bro! Keep this coming! 🔥🔥🔥 tears in my eyes man. I will never forget pulling this out of my xmas stocking and playing this. It was the perfect gift and thats how i found out i had a ps2 and my brother had one as well because we always got 2 of everything. 😭
For the spiritual sucessor, Got Next would be an excellent name. Maybe I'm over thinking a bit but imagine each game starts with one team winning the previous game. Then as they celebrate you hear "We Got Next" and each of the members on the new team have a short intro showing some flashy moves. Could be a good way to develop the original charceters and show their personalities. For additional game modes they could add 1-Up where you're scored on your combos you can make before you score a point. Maybe make it like the old Dunk Contest in 2K where you can add obstacles that increase difficulty but add to your final score. Most importantly bring back the Gamebreakers and replays. They might have to balance out how often and how powerful they are, sequences are iconic and need to make it into the next game.
Man, so many good memories with this game, thank you for posting this. I can share this with people that don't understand the way I get whenever something happens that reminds me of volume2. Very nostalgic. Remember the codes you could put in before the gate started to do different things, like have unlimited turbo, make your characters miniaturize, and a bunch of other things? Good times, and by the way I still own the PlayStation, the game, and I'm sure I have the memory cards with the saves for mine, and My boys created teams.
Its crazy ive started playing this series again around the time this video came out and I didn't know it......Subscribed. Completely agree with you too!
Okay multiple things: 1. the nostalgia I got from this was intense. 2. Speaking of street hoops, please do a video on that one! Honestly, me personally, I think I liked that game even more than this one back in the day, which says a lot considering how much I played this game. (Sorry if you've already done a video on it. New here so I'll check the channel out after and see) 3. "Engine engine number 9..." that song still instantly pops in my head to this day as soon as I see that menu screen. And if i hear that songi instantly think of this game too lol. You're right. This game had a good soundtrack for the time! 4. This one is just a funny memory from this game for me. It probably won't be funny unless someone actually remembers the video im talking about... I remember there were videos you could watch on this game, and one that still stands out to me was the "inside vol.2 what's new in 2" where they go over all the new features in the game. Mainly the begining of the video because I had no clue who he was at the time. But bobbito garcia says something like "peace. It's me bobbito garcia, aka dj cucumber sliiiice!" But he just sounds so goofy how he says it lol. My brother and I would smoke weed and watch that video and laugh so hard at how he says it. We would quote it constantly throughout the day too. Literally had to go look it up on youtube after I started this video just for the laugh 😂 good times. Thanks for the nostalgia trip. I really needed it right now.
Maaaaan you capping saying Homecourt sucked. That game was hard af. The remixes, the crazy dunks, cross overs, etc. That was one of my favorite games on PS3.
The movement that arcade game Arch Rivals inspired was legend…. NBA Jam, Mutant League Football, NBA Street, NFL Blitz, the Hockey with fighting, MLB Slugfest, etc etc etc
Man when I was little my dad’s brothers would come over and they would all be in the bonus room playing NBA street. Once I was old enough to play video games I played the hell out of the first 2 games and would play 3 at a friends house. It’d be sick if they added NAB Street 1 & 2 as a playstation classic in the store I’d buy them in a heartbeat
One of my favorite childhood memories was going over to my friend Sean’s house and all sitting down and playing this game together along with playing FIFA street on arcade in Mexico lol

Nba street 1 and 2 hold so many memories. Especially pete rock and Cl smooth on the intro in vol2.
Hearing They Reminisce Over You from NBA Street and knowing its a TBH video. Had to like the video immediately. Great vid!
The dopest thing was that this thing was a damn dictionary on culture. I learned about not only nba legends but street basketball culture from this game.
I’ll never forget visiting NYC in 2012 and walking past “The Cage” and realizing it was from nba street Bol. 2.
Courts I have been to from the games include:
Venice beach, the cage, Rucker park, greenlake park.
I'm from London and this is the game that got me into NBA properly. GOAT game and I still listen to the soundtrack to this day
I had NBA Street 3 on GameCube, NFL Street 2 on PS2, and Def Jam Vendetta on GameCube. Never got to play V2 or Fight for NY
NBA street homecourt was the last NBA game I played until getting into basketball last year. I was honestly shook to find out it never continued. 2K was always to bright and boring to me. Growing up in NYC, I spent a lot more time around playground courts than Arenas
Coming from the White Side of EA big Stretch was an unlockable character in SSX 3. I bought my copy BTW. I worked as a kid just saying.
"If Gamebreaker was so good then where's Gamebreaker 2--" *_[THAT theme_*_ plays]_
Double dunking was fire ngl
hope the run got next can be taken somewhat seriously, like played competitively, ive been a fan of 3on3 freestyle for a few years, knowing the game is extremely pay2win its still addicting and fun most of the time. but that game also has mechanics and balancing to make it be taken seriously amongst the small competitive community. meta changes every once in a while and things of that nature.
1:40, not quite my boi, for basketball we had NBA Jam and Arch Rivals for fun over realism.
Boomshakalaka
Street 2 will forever be a video game classic. The gameplay and the music was top-notch.
All NBA street , vol2, and V3 was fun especially on the GameCube with Mario brothers lol
I hate the fact that my favorite game in the series sold the least amount. Playing home court on Xbox live was too much fun
Mann so glad to see others enjoyed this game as much as i did lol. i still play it on the emulator sometimes
As a wrestling fan that SHANE not Vince but SHANE McMahon into song popped me
For the spiritual sucessor, Got Next would be an excellent name.
NBA Street V3 is the best in the series.
Thank you!!
As a 31 year old I needed this video ❤🖤🫡
Fire video. Brought back childhood memories 🤩
Omg this made me smile! I will always love this game. That opening music almost made me tear up
I just played this game with my brother the other day & let me tell you I still have that feeling of joy when I was a kid playing this
This is weird. I LITERALLY just played streetz 2 yesterday for the first time in over 15 years on an emulator after a crazy urge to do so😂😂
@theblackhokage22 how stupid do i look to you? 😂
V3 wasn’t that bad to me my favorite game of all time 🔥
Nba Street was a damn good game. I think it stop being popular because people stop playing ball like that in real life.
Me and my son still play number 1-2 on PlayStation 2 that game still go hard
Its crazy ive started playing this series again around the time this video came out and I didn't know it......Subscribed. Completely agree with you too!
10:04 I should take my like back. 😭
The Melo slander has to stop!!!
College days but that was so long ago
Best game hands down played this for hours with the bros on the GameCube 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bro.. deadass.
The beginning music and seeing that screen gave me chills
I’m old as fuck mayne. 😮💨😮💨
Okay multiple things:
1. the nostalgia I got from this was intense.
2. Speaking of street hoops, please do a video on that one! Honestly, me personally, I think I liked that game even more than this one back in the day, which says a lot considering how much I played this game. (Sorry if you've already done a video on it. New here so I'll check the channel out after and see)
Bonafide was dangerous
Great video! Keep making these! I can see something similar with Tony hawks pro skaters. Music from those games also were canon events.
14:00 you don’t have to remind me
Yea 5 of us was passing around the same street game
I was in college when Volume 2 came out. Damn near everyone in my dorm building was playing this game. We even had a few tournaments.
Maaaaan you capping saying Homecourt sucked. That game was hard af. The remixes, the crazy dunks, cross overs, etc. That was one of my favorite games on PS3.
The EA Big era was legendary in gaming. They had me in a chokehold as a kid.
Heard that Pete Rock an instantly hit the like button. This Game meant war between me and my bro 🙏🏽 🕊. Classic
7:36 BULLSHIT!!! NBA Street Vol. 3 wasn’t the downfall, NBA Street Homecourt was the official downfall Hokage
The movement that arcade game Arch Rivals inspired was legend…. NBA Jam, Mutant League Football, NBA Street, NFL Blitz, the Hockey with fighting, MLB Slugfest, etc etc etc
The impact this game had from the soundtrack , graphics, bobbito Garcia on the mic damn I miss this game
