For those unaware, Fans Toys' Headmasters have all been based on their Japanese Headmasters cartoon models, rather than their season 4 models. Yes, there was some overlap between s4 and The Headmasters' models; with the Decepticon Targetmasters, the Horrorcons and some of the Headmaster alternate modes using the same models as the US series, but things like the Headmaster robot modes, the Clones, the Autobot Targetmasters and Punch/Counterpunch (to name a few) had completely different models. The reason why they share some models but not others is pretty much unknown and mostly speculative, but it mostly comes down to what may have been available at the time, as several of the s4 models were originally used in the toy and comic commercials (and by extension, the comics) and were mostly drawn by Marvel Productions, whereas the ones in The Headmasters were drawn by Toei. Had s4 been worked on by Toei and not AKOM, the models used in The Headmasters would've likely been what the Sunbow cartoon would've used instead, since Toei was pretty fussy and tended make their own models over the ones Floro Dery and co. would make (just look at how different the final Toei models were for TFTM, over all of the earlier Floro Dery work).
@@voltaicspecter928 Ehh, idk. FansToys' Fort Max is going to be one of if not THE biggest Transformers figures ever made, 3rd-party or otherwise. He's probably not going to have much more articulation than the average Masterpiece-scaled fig.
That second hand is meant to replicate Fortress whenever he pulls the small version of the master sword from his console on the Maximus in the headmasters cartoon, which he has to do to transform both the Maximus and himself into Fortress Maximus. The display base allow you to replicate those scenes.
Imagine if this was actually the Spike/Emissary headmaster for Cerebros, he’d be beyond freakin’ huge! That being said, Cerebros being this big as it is already has me slightly scared for how giant Fort Max will be. Also given the secondary market this might end up being a cheaper alternative which is hilariously depressing
i'd see the headmaster ejection as a feature instead of a bug. often the head on headmasters can be difficult and scary to remove, but with this figure the headmaster can eject with a neat acrobatic jump.
I read somewhere that the body is around 1.3m tall. But is also quite costly hence why FT didn't show it yet, or may be ordered directly from FT since I think only those willing to spend will probably get it.
Thank you for addressing the feet on Spike. Other than FT's own video no other video I watched (which I admit is not all of them) bothered to transform them for head rotation clearance and just called it limited.
I'm anxious to see your Dream Star toys Slingshot review. I received mine last Friday but like to wait for your JTI video prior to transforming my high-end figures.
Cerebros aka Fortress in japanese G1 cartoon 'The Headmaster', first showed up in G1 season 4. But the japanese G1 cartoon community deleted G1 season 4 instead of 'The Headmaster', after Cybertron was destroyed by the Decepticons, Rodimus gave his leadership to Fortress as the new leader of the Autobots. Cerebros in US G1 cartoon can combine with Fortressmaximus as his head, and Spike is Cerebros' headmaster. Forterss in JP G1 cartoon can combine with the Autobot Spaceship 'Maximus' into Fortressmaximus by using the 'Master Sword'. Headmasters in JP G1 cartoon control their own bodies but not like the US G1 cartoon which the headmaster is the pilot or driver of the transformer, who are two different life forms.
Optimus: Autobots! Transform and roll out. Cerebros: Uh...Prime? I can't do that. OP: What? Why not? Cerebros: I don't have a vehicle mode. OP: Well then, what do you have? *Cerebros transforms* OP: Really?! A head. You change into a head? *Transforming back* Cerebros: Uh, yeah. *Prime facepalms himself*
Cerebro did have a different face in the American cartoon. This is Forteress has he is in the Japanese cartoon Headmaster. The tiny head master was named Forteress he could become the head of his transtector and then become the head of his giant robot mode to be Forteress Maximus.
They should do a Car Robots/RID color variant. Either way when the rest of Fort Max comes out, he's basically going to be the size of a child...let that sink in people.
Now I'm wondering if Cerebros' body there can form that Emissary form that it could form in RID 2001. And if I can find the main body for Fort Max? I think I saw it someone in your list so I'll go look right now.
How much time do you actually spend with a Transformer to learn it’s every corner, nook and cranny? I’m sure by the time you film a video, you know it like the ABCs. You’re awesome Emgo! Keep doing what you do!
Hey great job as always. You’re my favorite to watch for transformation tutorials. Did you know the center gray piece opens up to show his readout thingy?
@@emgo316 oh man, my bad, how did I miss that? Well, great job! Do you think they’re going to do an American version down the road of this guy? I kinda hope so, at least for the cerebros part. I like the Japanese version, but dig the American cartoon version a little more. I like his colors and added details.
Pull a He-Man with the alternate hand. I happened to look this up before I noticed you did a review. I liked the figure but can't do the price which also scares me on how much big bot would be when Fans Toys does him. Pulls Excalibur from the stone. I have ToyHax stickers on my Fort Max too because it just needs it ha ha.
Just a correction. FT is using the Japanese Headmasters version Fortress, not the US Cerebros. Cerebros has the face mask, darker colors and dose not use the sword. Fortress has the face visible, lighter colors and has the sword. Still loved the review and skit regardless.
I wonder how their Fort Max will be sold. Will the body be out all at once or will they sell it like the old candy kit Fort Max (it came in 3 separate small kits that acted as "playsets", but would be a complete Fort Max together)?
I understand the need for lighter weight on the head to help the larger figure overall, but the usual FansToys die cast legs are certainly missed. It gets very nervous pushing those tabs in on otherwise hollow plastic legs.
Love the figure but Idk if it’s worth trying to track one of these down at this point. They seem sold out everywhere at this point. Seems to be the biggest problem with Fanstoys.
The bio has some funny jabs at the movie. But jeez this guy is huge, I can't imagine how big "Fortificus Titanicus" will be. Or how heavy, especially if they do die-casting for it. But didn't Cerebros also originally have a third vehicle mode beyond head and robot? Kinda makes him a little like the bottom part of Sky Lynx. But now I need to find a spot for him. I am honestly amazed Spike's fingers aren't articulated. Would have thought if anyone could find a way.
I don’t think I’ve said this before but, I really don’t use instructions at all! I always watch your Jti videos because 1, it’s so much easier, and 2, instructions in my opinion suck!
He looks really good, but a couple of things are keeping me from investing in him: 1. The staggering cost of how much Fort Max is going to be 2. The staggering SIZE Fort Max will be (how are you even going to fit him in your studio to review him, Emgo?) 3. I prefer the Marvel head design for Cerebros 4. I prefer Fort Max in his smaller Marvel size rather than being an impossibly big cityformer. Still, no one does robot proportions as perfectly as FT, Sovereign and Acoustic Wave are two of my absolute favorite figures.
I bet Emgo is dreading doing the review on the full glory of fortress maximus. Because the last time he did a review on the last maximus that came it was hell for him and that was 2 feet tall. And this one is suppose to be alot bigger than that holy crap🤣🤣🤣

Indeed. Which is why Hannibal has a smaller Fort Max face and not the face of Cerebros.
Also, wasn't the face more similar to the G1 toy as well?
What amazes me is that this is just the head. THE HEAD of Fort Max. I genuinely can't wait to see Fort Max in his full glory!

Well haslab is a titan clas...
Fort Max will be in the “divorce class” of Transformers figures.
Haslab unicron is already a triple priced titan figure
I get the feeling Emgo's gonna be doing the FansToys Fort Max review on his dining room table due to sheer size.
