Amazing. I've seen that picture a thousand times. Never thought it could be brought alive.

Brilliant - very revealing; as Barefoot Ben says the use of pikes and muskets, plus the role of cavalry and their relative indiscipline. Masterly,

Very interesting animation. I find it's cool to see how the pikeblocks and musketeers are used together in an era before bayonets which combined the two units.
Also the use of the dragoons on the left to weaken Rupert's horse before they met Ireton's horse is quite enlightening. I had previously wondered what use dragoons could possibly be, as, if you have horses why not ride them when fighting? But I see that being able to quickly position them on the flanks and then deploy them like musketeers must've been very crucial in sapping the royalist horses' momentum.
I wonder what Rupert was thinking going after the baggage train.

Regarding what Rupert was thinking going after the baggage train - I think I'm right in saying the Ironsides were the exception to the rule here, in that it was common practice for cavalry regiments to charge once and then loot the baggage train. Cromwell trained his troopers to stay in line or reform if necessary and then charge again.

Very interesting, would like an audio description as well. Wide panning shots could go a bit slower. Well done.

A novel and interesting way to present the battle. However, I agree with the previous comment that there should have been an explanatory audio as well. For a good example visit "Gettysburg Animated Map" produced by the American Battlefields Trust. Both the graphics and the audio clearly explain this battle.

Love it but just hearing Michael Bentines potty time music and voices.
