The Pac-12 needs to stay consistent. Only schools with "State" in their name should be allowed to join. We already have OR State, WA State, CO State, Boise State, Fresno State, and SD State. Add Montana State and Idaho State for now and then re-name the conference: "The All-State Conference". Mic drop.
I believe getting San Diego State was a great deal for the Pac 10 a southern California team that has a tremendous amount of potential more than Boise State Fresno State more than Colorado state plus they have an incredible basketball program at this time And being in the pack 10 will give them a better chance of recruiting higher and players
Go Beavs! Great... ok good lol video. I kind of like the nature vibe with the teeny tiny microphone. Just kidding of course. Great job as usual and love the content. Its not a surprising move but it is a costly move. I'm intrigued by what comes next but I am not confident it will be out of the Mountain West.
UNLV because it’s a desirable destination place and first rate venues. Air Force Academy because they are consistently competitive, fan favorites, and represent stability with no off-field distracting drama. Now you have your new PAC 8 and conference stability. It’s only a matter of time before all those former PAC 12 teams return home to their former conference with a new title of PAC 18. Now you have a regional based, P5, highly competitive, mega size PAC, with all the tradition rich accolades that makes sense cornering the Western/Pacific media market in 1/3 of the country.
I think unlv would want to bring Nevada too but I would say that would be a good move too! Also maybe utah state I know they aren't good but their stadium is really nice and they have a high enrollment
@Cooljohn760 definitely could be a possibility they join those conferences, especially if FSU and Clemson leave, but worth a try for some solid teams if they want a somewhat competitive league
As an Oregon fan. I didn't like how things went down. I'd like to see a dope Pac-12. And about time Boise gets a sorta promotion. Air Force and UNLV make alot of sense. Utah State as well. Wyoming would be a decent promotion. And am way down for NDSU and the Jackrabbits moving up. But I dont know if theyd want to. I dont love the idea of bringing teams east of the Mississippi. But if need be. So be it.
California and Stanford do not want to be with Boise State. There are certain schools that those two did not want to deal with them because of academic and religious issues.
They need eastern schools to fill more tv slot so they can make more money more eyes on the product. Keeping it regional will hurt it's growth they want to eventually get to power conference status you are going to need the money to lure better schools over and get better faculties and so on.
I have lived in Oregon for 23 years. But, I lived west of Seattle, two different times, for 14 1/2 years beforehand. I am loyal all the Seattle teams first: the Huskies; the Seahawks; the Sonics; the Kraken; the Sounders; and the Mariners. The rest of the Washington teams fall behind them. I was sad the PAC-12 broke up, especially over money. But, I am glad now that my 3 favorite fbs teams-Washington, Washington St. and Arizona, are in 3 different conferences! And, I see that Gonzaga is going to stay in the WCC. So, my 4 favorite b-ball teams are in different conferences. That means they each be a #1 seed in my ideal post seasons!!!!
Merge with the Mountain West, get New Mexico State, and get UTEP to become a 16-team western conference. I just want to see a geographically correct conference.
The new Pac12 should be the cornerstone of a western division of a “national” conference. The successful competitor to the Big10 and SEC needs to have teams that spread across the country so the tv partners can have programming across all time zones. Regional proximity to enable economic operation for the other sports. This could occur with a merger with the smarter of the Big12, ACC or a combination of some of their schools.
1. Brand Name (Image and Likeness) is indeed everything in these 2024 days: 2. While getting some FCS schools should definitely be considered (NDSU and the other SDSU) FBS teams with media markets are going to be considered first and foremost. It is, sadly, a complete contradiction to have these considered options together especially out West. 3. With the rumors of Memphis and Tulane heating up as well as Air Force to the AAC what if the 6PACState takes a swing and goes the 3 Armed Forces as well as Memphis and Tulane and lets just throw UTSA, UNLV and Nevada in the mix as well. Could that be enough to entice snobby CAL and Stanford back? Probably not but I can see an argument made. 4. Let's Go: B-E-A-V-E-R-S!!!! OREGON STATE!!!! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!!!!

Rule #1 to become a Pac school is for "State" to be part of the name. Rule #2: no kickoffs past 4 p.m. Pacific. Recruiting east coast kids will be difficult if friends and family, and interested media need to stay up way past their bedtimes to watch junior play.
@SaturdayShenanigansYT Thought experiment: Record a game, any game, and pretend the kickoff is at 10:30p or 11:00p. The game is back and forth, and ESPN breaks in to show the excitement. Fans of a blowout east coast game are predictably 😴 and don't see how good your team is. And that Heisman hopeful is only a rerun highlight in the next morning while the media has moved on to the NFL.
Idaho, Montana, and Montana State do not want to go to the PAC 12 nor do they want them. These 3 schools can never compete with the talent of FBS schools which is the exact reason why Idaho voluntarily stepped down to FCS. They would much rather play schools closer to their talent level. Same for North and South Dakota State. The PAC 12 doesn’t want them them because adding them does nothin for them in terms of securing a TV deal. They need large media markets to want to play their games and you’re not going to get that with a Washington State vs Montana State game. They are hunting for higher profile schools.
@@bigekoms It has to prove itself. It perhaps can, the Big 12 has. That said, the Big12 has been on the edge of the power 5 and barely in with the schools they have. But they are good enough to have an auto-big for now. The new PAC has some decent programs, but it is several steps behind the current Big12 and needs to make a statement on the field and by acquiring some more high-level G5 programs and remnants of the ACC when that is broken up and raided by the big 3.

It’s about Football. Boise and Fresno are usually the Mountain West champions.
Fresno state got better fan support then Diego
Pac 12 is starting over 🎉
This was honestly the most surprising thing I've heard all month.
Still 2 teams short with 1 year left!

As a native Oregonian, please don't dismiss potential Central Time Zone teams. In today's landscape, 2 time zones aren't that far.

@Cooljohn760 definitely could be a possibility they join those conferences, especially if FSU and Clemson leave, but worth a try for some solid teams if they want a somewhat competitive league
UTSA just went to the american

THANK YOU for acknowledging that Cal/Stanford are never going to that new Pac 12. That has been such an annoying narrative as a Cal fan
Good video today and good food for the thought. Would love to have Cal and Stanford back!
