This was an odd video that took a lot of time to make. I didn't just want to flex my Candace, so it ended up becoming more of a showcase of how she is more useful than people give her credit for, while also kinda being a long-terrm kit review lol. It was my first big scripted video I have done, so I hope you liked it.

I love Candace I got a second staff of Homa just for her an she is fun to use but really wish they would rework her scaling n honestly should have been our 5* parry unit because no hate on cyno love him as a character but she was given 5* design not him I genuinely hope they up date her scaling n gave her some buff she is still amazing unit n top tier waifu in my eyes

Candace is such a pretty character but it's as you say: you can make any character work in this game, where it differs is amount of effort and time it takes. Most 5* characters just don't need that much effort to give similar utility.

Hoyoverse decided that the 2 most beautiful babes of Sumeru, Dehya and Candace, would be useless without C6. That's not a coincidence, that's a strategy. That backfired.

The 1 thing that really pisses me off is her C6 not activating when shes on-field like wtf she couldve been an even better hydro driver but Hoyo decided to destroy her viability for some reason

I've had triple crowned Candace since the day she came out, but on release I was only able to get c5. She was alright, not anything amazing, but after pulling c6 and getting Yao Yao, she became so fun. Thoma Kaeya Candace Yao Yao has got to be one of my favourite teams in the game
I think Hoyo is realllly cautious when it comes to releasing a 4 star hydro character to avoid another Xingqiu accident😂. If only Candace's burst swapping aoe hydro application doesn't have a limit, I will have the most fun in quick swapping teams.

@@rockercloud9562 Xingqiu, along with Bennett and Xiangling (and Sucrose) are 4 stars so good that to this day they're still OP and in some cases, better than some 5 stars. The reason most of the 4 stars since Inazuma being weak supports may be because hoyo don't want to release supports as OP as Xingqiu, Bennett and Xiangling, which could cause some players to don't spend money in 5 stars

Just like Dehya, Candace has a fantastic design and personality, but clanky kit and scaling, that makes her feel a little incomplete. That being said, I finally got my C1 Candace this rerun, and trying my best to make her work with Skyward Spine and 4-p Heart of Debts set

I'm told that she's really great at making Xingqiu into a main DPS due to his hydro shred. He could be a good driver for a triple parry team.
Just an FYI, as you can see in 14:19 you use Thomas' E before his Q, and you lose your Q for a couple of seconds, then you get it back from his E particles. This is because you are using Kitain Cross Spear, it consumes a bit of energy and then gives it back. You want to use the burst before you E, this way you save one second and don't have to wait for the particles to come back :).

I actually ended up with c6 Candace on this banner trying to get Fischl constellations (Fischl at c5 now, so I'll have to wait until July). She is in the queue, since building all c6 4*s is a long-term goal of mine. Alas, the blue gems I have stocked up are being reserved for Focalors and there are a few characters ahead of her in that queue, including Rosaria.
But alright, I'll build her.
Haha glad to hear it. If you dont think you will enjoy her dont bother of course, but if you do like anything about her I think she is definitely worth it at C6.

Unfortunately don't have her nor her c1, or else she would've been a great addition to my nilou team with that interesting mechanic. I could abuse the flop on yaoyao and make tons of blooms lol
Yeah she does not have a kit that is easy to find use for at low investment levels. If only her C6 was in her base kit.
Recently started enjoying her in Nilou bloom. So based and refreshing compared to the usual Kazuha glazing in the community.
I'm glad to have found this video "randomly". This makes me think more about how Hoyo has been designing new units (although I'm quite the "new" player in the block, I've seen a small share of Genshin in the launch time) and, just as you said, some constellations should be just part of the base kit. I'd love to use Dehya for instance, great visual design IMO but having to get her C2 just to have a "decent" mitigation character doesn't sit right to me...
Having recently got Dehya, I've actually kinda enjoyed how terrible she is because my account is so invested in (mostly time wise) that it has been fun using her because of her issues. But the fact that they found it acceptable to release Dehya with all of the issues she has kinda blows my mind. Also, Dehya not working with Candace is a crime.
@@Solunerra Indeed. She was supposed to be somo sort of "budget Zhongli" absorbing all that damage and recovering that, so my on-field units could use her interruption resist with ease. But... We have THIS Dehya, oh my. Also... het burst not proc'ing Candace is a heinous crime, geez

i got c6 candace while pulling for fischl, and she was a BIG improvement to my hyperbloom team, now being able to use double hydro
nahida/xingqiu/candace/shinobu works wonders and cooldowns line up quite well, plus it adds a lot of damage during set up

I found her to be a reasonably good dmg support for Ayato due to her elemental damage bonus. Base 20% from hydro + ,5% for every elemental damage for every 1000 HP. averaging ~42,5% elemental dmg bonus + 20% from artifact set for ATK stat for my current team.
you did such a better job at this than moga's terrible video i just watched earlier. you actually made her seem viable
If you really want to see her be viable watch my polearms only abyss videos. I have one for the current abyss cycle that relied heavily on Candace for the lectors. By no means is she the ideal choice for them of course (her c6 doesnt even work on them…), but I was able to do it with her.

She looks like a solid Azhdaha bully, now I'm interested...
what makes her easy to start using: 1) heterochromia 2) no investment needed, just stack ER, (don't even need to level) fav lance, instructor, put her with yaoyao on a bloom team.
I started playing in Oct 2022 ... my only nice 4stars were ... Kuki and Candace. (no bennett, no xingqiu) and while everyone was discovering Dendro Main Character, I was sweeping thru Inazuma with this team. I didn't understand people's pain about that place, cause Candace making blooms and Kuki activating them so fast, I didn't know how i was smashing the content.
PS. Candace's 2nd normal attack in string is a Blunt attack.. the shield bash part. It breaks rocks to mine, and makes mobs fly away (chased by hyperbloom that Kuki activated)
PPS. Try here with Nymph's Dream set, too. :D

One thing I love about Candace is how her infusion overrides Bennett's c6 infusion. Had a fun time experimenting with Hydro Diluc when I first got her. Sadly, I had only C2 of her for the longest time even though I wished enough to get C2 Cyno on their first banner. But now that I have her at c6, I'm rediscovering how fun she is to play and plan on getting her built up more. :D
If her skill could provide a shield she'd be so much more usable. Hell, even if they reduced the cool down to 6 seconds without constellations she'd be way more usable - but at c0 she has like NO hydro application, maybe content will come out in the future where blocking attacks is needed but if you really love her, expect to pull on her banner s few times til you get c4-c6
My Yaoyao is so far down the list of characters I'd ever consider, but I love playing Candace. Good to see some of these combos to think about how to play her in the future. Right now playing her with Tighnari and Bennet.
(I was at 75 pity at the time) I was joking that I would pull and main her if she had the same birthday as me with a friend I was talking to at the time. I go to look at her birthday and it was literally mine. I was in complete shock, I seriously couldn't believe it...
I ended up getting Qiqi than candace right after.. Which I was really happy I lost my 50/50... but mad that its ALWAYS QIQI
I'm still upset everyday that it's Candace- I always wanted to have a good character as a main but I have what everyone calls "the worst character" Which is very upsetting...
Maybe one day she wont be "the worst"..

Very few have noticed that the movements of the ordinary attack of Kandakia are almost completely copied from the movements of King Leonid from the movie "300". See at 48:05 in movie.
Weird how UA-cam algorithm is giving me Candace video recommendations, when I'm just a week into getting a feel of her combat. My sparring partner is Raiden Shogun herself.

This one is much better than the guy who kept talking about sweaty hands (don't ask).
It also gave me a better perspective on her, since I didn't fully understand how to build her. I tried building her as a DPS but I always felt like I was doing something wrong. I tried stacking some Atk on her and a 50/145 crit. ratio and it still felt off, but I'm just using my available 3/4 star weapons (i.e R3 White Tassel).
For DPS Candace it took a very good build for her to feel good to me, and she obviously still has issues. I didn't go into heavy detail in the video, but C6 is such an extraordinary help for being able to utilize her in different ways. Most often nowadays I just really enjoy using her to frontload a ton of hydro app really quickly. But on fielding her without C6 then my go to is still Yun Jin because the NAs are satisfying
@@Solunerra I'm still a little confused on her burst when it comes to damage. Is it subpar, or am I doing something wrong? Doesn't feel too different than her normal attacks. And I try balancing a good Atk/crit. ratio of 45/150.

Yeah, I agree with the idea that they gutted her a bit at c0. Nothing highlights how Hoyoverse decided to strip her of fun than her C6, which she cannot trigger herself. Like, why? If you build her for personal damage, she has to give up HP%, lowering the damage anyway. And, of course, there's her C1, with that longer duration being something she needs, again, to feel fun.
I pretty much up every single female character to at least 8/8/8. The big exception to that is Cadance, who I stopped at 6/6/6.
Bro... 8 months for that "okay" stats... anyways, I personally think she one of the more unique char in the game, just because she have a polearm and shield.

Every character is realy strong if you invest in them alot the only difference is, someone like raidon shogun needs her set, a lot of er, and a good ratio of crit and dmg.
nilou need a Randome set with hp, and Mybe just Mybe some er if you feel like it.

I have a burgeon bean team with Yaoyao, Candace, Yelan/XQ, and Thoma and it's a very fun burgeon team, just needs a lotttt of energy.
Candace is actually so cool and I love her kit, but mine is just C2 so she's on the bench until I get more constellations :)

I love full EM Candace for bloom teams, even without Nilou.
When i first Got her on my first banner in genshin (cynos release) loved her!! But i started whaling early on and went 5 star only teams early on in genshin so i forgot her. 1 year later i wanna spend alll my resin on her!

My prefered candace team is Baizhu, Nahida, Nilou and Candace. On this team I run her full em paradice lost focusing on ER and EM on substats and use Baizhu shield/healing to keep candace healthy while she is the one triggering blooms with hydro infused attacks. I tried the YaoYao variant and while it can do more damage I just don't like being tied to YaoYao burst and her terrible normal attacks.
It has been working pretty fine and I can use on field candace with her satisfying normals and hold skill.
Yep, as long as you can meet her ER requirements she is certainly usable like that. Just a bit harder build wise vs using Yaoyao (though she also has some ER reqs with Nilou of course)
It would have been wonderful if her heterochromia matches her infusion..
What if, she can infuse herself with hydro, and when infused with other elements(like pyro from bennet) her shield keeps her hydro infusion? It would result in two infusions like her eyes.. whichw would have been amazing.. @mihoyo
Just a little thing I realised you could do is that you switch weapons in this build. So you said you use 3 of the best supports in one of you buil which had Kazoohoo and Bennett in it. Xiphos is a great addition to it on Kazoo because it complements his 1000 EM needs and also boosts the team's ER but if my eyes aren't cheating me, you have Jade Cutter on Benny which to be fair gives him a great amount of attack and boost his HP aswell so he can heal big numbers, but since your team requires a lot of switching around and iframing you don't actually need that much HP on Benny and the crit rate part is almost totally not important either so what is actually good of it is the high base attack. You could give Favonius Sword a try. While it actually has a striking 88 less attack which would eventually cause your Candace to get like around 100 less attack from his burst, the passive parts compliment Bennett's kit better here since once you crit the white particles would not only give back more energy then the colored ones but provide it to the whole team and also gives Bennett ER to be able to spam his burst more often thus making the rotation smoother. Also I couldn't see what weapon you use on Naheehee but since you don't actually need her to deal dendro damage it's most likely that you use her due to the skill connection and EM buffs and since you use Dragons Bane on Candy she needs less EM especially due to Xiphos Thrilling Tales would be a great addition because the rotation already requires Slayhida to be the last one in it so when you switch back to the Hydro mommy she would get that extra 48% damage upgrade
Xiphos I am using on Kazuha. My Bennett has no ER issues, so Fav is not necessary other than to potentially get particles for others. Nahida uses Sac frags, which I prefer because of the EM and skill reset (new enemies spawning means that I constantly find I get use out of the reset). I wasnt really going for doing every little thing I could to maximize Candaces damage in that team, since I was limited by Candaces level more than anything.
Oh, ans TTDS doesnt do much in that team due to Candace usually doing most of her damage through skill or burst (HP scaling vs atk scaling NAs).
I also kinda hate TTDS due to it punishing you for switching to the wrong unit by accident
Got her C6 on Baizhu banner, I'm so glad she could replace Xingqiu on my Kaeya Freeze team :)
She will be holding The Catch from now on, Xiangling can use one of my R5 Dragon's Bane instead.
the only viable 4 stars that got released in like the last year or so are the dedicated elemental supports.

That was mostly just meant as a team showcase with non polearm units lol (since the account I primarily use Candace on is Polearms Only). I intend to get Candace past 70 on that account in the future though

What's your build for your hyperbloom team?
Switches between either the emblem build I had on her in this video, or 4pc instructors. Unless I feel like I need that bit of extra dmg from bloom I prefer emblem over instructors because I like getting decent dmg from her even outside of Vape contexts. But in situations like the current abyss cycle where that extra EM could make fast clears more consistent, then Instructors it is.

For maximizing Candaces NA/CA dmg its technically her best set (slightly better than 4 HoD), but I personally like going for more of a balance, so rather than a 4pc set that doesnt benefit her skill/burst, I think I'd recommend 2pc Nymphs 2pc HoD since both give Hydro bonus, so both sets benefit all of Candaces dmg.

Interesting question. This video was definitely more focused on specifically getting value out of Candace as an on field DPS.
Having continued to rely on Candace for various things and using her more on my main account and polearm account, I think as time goes on there will be more and more use for infusions enabling very specific things.
The main issue with utilizing infusions is that if you are slotting someone like Candace into a team, she has to contribute more than just her infusions, otherwise it’s generally not worthwhile compared to other options (unless you just specifically wanted to play Candace, which was the main scope of this video-you can get use out of basically every Genshin unit if you want).
Candaces current state, imo, is that she kinda needs C6 to reach the point where what she contributes to the team with her entire kit is now worthwhile to consider over other options. AoE hydro, front loaded application (that can be timed and doesnt require NAs but has the unique trigger of application on a switch, which I think is super clever and I want to see this in more character kits, since switching units is the most core mechanic of the game lol), and she has some off field hydro with C6 + infusion. I don’t think she will ever become a smarter hydro unit to build over the likes of XQ/Furina/Yelan or anything, but she offers enough utility to potentially be worthwhile. And as time goes on with more units that do more things, the value of the weirdly specific and unique things that Candace does will go up. For example, Xianyun & GaMing is currently in beta, and the fact that you could use Xianyun with Candace to infuse melee units with hydro and get a guaranteed hydro application (plunges with elemental dmg always apply the element) means even more functional hydro applications out of Candace. With GaMing there is potential to use the infusion to weave in hydro application between his skill resets. Will these ideas result in the hypothetical highest performing teams possible? Im not sure, but regardless the fact that we could do these things uniquely with Candace is an example of increased value over time.

Still i would take C0 xingqui over her. You can vape his E for 1200% with sac, that is more than childe melee stance Q. Of course using ER sword but still. His Q is pretty good sub C6 but really good at C6. I would just rather hit bigger numbers with xingqui than Candace.

This was meant less as a guide and more a general showcase for how she can be utilized to have fun with. Whether or not she is worth investing in depends on how you like to play the game and your accounts current investment level (aka how much you can justify spending to level a unit that is less useful). And sadly Candace really only starts to shine outside of OW with her C6
