The best videos aren't always the ones where you're doing epic things and got slick editing. Sometimes it's the simple ones like this. Amazing story, thanks for sharing it with us buddy.

While I know this is a sad story... Living in Western Australia, I did chuckle at the "6 hours is a long drive" part. Over Christmas I drove 36 hours to visit my Grandmother... and only passed through 4 "towns" (only towns in the loosest sense of the definition). I loved the sentiment and the realness of this video Casey, it's a side we don't always see of you, so sorry for your loss.

There's something called a plane and when you get on one... I'm just messing with you but why not take a plane though, expensive? Thirty-six hrs is fricken crazy. Couldn't pay me enough.

I live in WA too, though the longest drive I've done was only a measly 12 hours :P

How is 6 hours not a long drive? Sure, it's not the longest drive ever, but it's not short. Loads of Americans drive 36-more hours on road trips across the country, but most people take airplanes out of convenience.

That means you only passed through a town once every 7ish hours on average were you not worried about running out of gas in the middle of nowhere.

My grandpa has the same first and last name as me. He passed away this year on March 21, 2018 which was on my birthday. I dont really know where im going with this but when I was looking at the tombstone, it was like looking at my tombstone. Don't take your life for granted, every minute counts and most of all be with the people you love. That quote is kind of cheesy, I know, but it's true.

Fantastic vlog Casey. This especially reasonated with me because my Grandma had so many stories to share and I felt like all that history and culture went when she did. I celebrate her life as much as I can and her influence drives me to become better and be better. Im thankful for you to put into words what I cant, but grateful that I can understand the sentiments. I would love to tell her story. Thank you for the share. -- From Japan, with love, Spencer.

That journal... I only wish my nana had kept such a thing. I feel like it would be the most wonderful, sad, happy, and just amazing gift that anyone could leave their loved ones.
It’s made me want to go back to journaling daily... I did it pretty consistently from 12-19, but then I stopped and now I’m 30. Perhaps it’s time to pick up my old journal and start back up again, except this time instead of it being just for me, I could use the extra motivation of leaving it as a gift for my loved ones someday.
Great video, thank you for posting it.

Tobias Eriksson sorry I disagree. Life is journey, this lady went past “3 score year and ten”.... she lived an amazing life and watched her family blossom, the hardships she encountered in her early years undoubtedly taught her children valuable lessons about work ethic etc. She must have been extremely proud of her ‘clan’.
Death isn’t sad when somebody has lived a fulfilling life ..... remember death awaits us all - even you. Death is part of life, without death this planet fails rapidly.
A life wasted..... now that is sad.

I moved my Nanny in this April. I am grateful to have her with us even if it is so hard in many ways. I work all day with her and then go to my job at night, don't sleep much, but I am so grateful to know she is with family and being taken care of to the best of my ability. Thanks for sharing and God rest your Nana!

How sweet was your Nana? I am 67 years old. I wrote a journal for 20 years that my daughter Erin can go read in notebooks. And I am making her audio recordings of my current life and past events and stories that she can listen to when I am gone and when she can bring herself to listen to them. These things are important but in the end all we have is love ... and that is the most important thing we leave behind ...

Thank you for sharing this! I think it pays tribute to your grandmother's memory and is a beautiful way to honor her life. As someone who has lost wonderful and loving grandparents, I can really relate. As bittersweet as it is to say goodbye, being thankful for the love they have brought in to the world can be helpful in dealing with the loss. Wishing you all the best!

When you talk about your nana it makes me sad & it makes me happy. I had some similar experiences a few months ago when my grandma passed away. I learned so many things about her life. Some sad things & some happy things. I read her "joyful moments journal" that she kept. It was full of moments where she felt joyful. All of them involved our family. It inspired me to start my own joyful moments journal. I used to be really good at journaling everyday, but as I've gotten older it happens less & less. It makes me a little sad to hear your stories, because they remind me of my stories. I'm so glad you were able to celebrate her life with your family.

if you pass by a super charger or battery station, they replace the battery in less time it takes to fill a ICE tank, so while for some specific trip it can be annoying, for most it is not that much of a problem. And here you have access to restricted lanes to skip trafic if you have an EV.

    Dear casey,
Its not too often the things touch me emotionally. Now i don't have much 'family' being a foster kid, but i will create a 'family'. a true family. One full of love and no sign of neglect. I'm still young and i live in my cart so i can save money to then reinvest it in businesses, real estate etc. thats why i started my channel because i want to document my life, currently being eighteen. This video reminded me of the times i didn't have anything to eat. the times that sparked my hustle and my turn in to controlling my future. so i just want to say thanks for basically reminding me why i started. Keep Grinding and Keep growing Casey.
    Thanks- jonah feehery

So I guess it's in your genes. Your grandmother was a daily, what would you call it? plogger (paper)? jlogger (journal)? You're lucky, most of us don't have items like that left behind, and sadly, most of us don't ask questions of our elders before they pass on.
