Did anyone notice the drummer lost a drumstick at :48? ...and they kept on going. Good Job! It's good to see and hear young people performing "older" music from years ago and not the junk that's on the radio today!
@@sagwan6991 yeah fr I’ve been studying music for over 2 years now and my thought process on it is you have to listen to all types of music to be the best musician
I like the old stuff- it was authentic, 4 or 5 musicians in the same room like in this video. Performance vs. "auto-tune." Today's music is controlled by a handful of songwriters and producers that "write to formula" that will make #1 on the charts. I don't hear much inspiration in many songs. Storytelling in music should be as varied as life events.
As an old Pretenders fan, it does my heart good to see that these youngsters are even covering this song. My one critique would be about the singer--if you're going to cover Chrissie's vocal you've got to really belt it out.
turning up the mic volume would improve it- could be my ears but even a lot of singers playing "paying gigs" worry about their volume when guys are belting it on guitars and drums.
Watch some of School of Rock's other student videos. Most of the vocals are a bit sedated. IDK if it's because they're taught that way, or because SoR wants to minimize any mistakes from their students.
@@trplankowner3323 Must be the influence of Auto-Tune on music today. Joe Walsh has said that what made classic rock was that it was a band working together to "authenticate" the music, to add its soul and emotion. If there was a slight mistake then sometimes they left it on the record to let people know it was real. I applaud SoR in their quest to put young musicians together to learn to make music together. Maybe as they mature and grow more comfortable being taped at the microphone, that their "inner Mick Jagger" will cut loose. :) One example is a cover of McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Jordis Unga. They get the tune correct and she adds her own flair. The SoR vocalists will find their own style and make a song their own. All they have to do is keep pushing forward. Give Jordis a listen: ua-cam.com/video/Q-ObfOYW8ac/v-deo.html
This song depends on everyone bringing and keeping the same energy and these kids did it beautifully. that guitar riff is hard to keep on track and they nailed it. Such a fun song, great job!!
Wow. Along with a few others I consider Chrissie Hynde one of the best R&R singers ever - yep ever. This Lady did her justice on this one. I think, ok who can keep up with Hynde , Wilson, Joplin and others. She did not disappoint. They were all great but this hit me a little extra because Chrissie Hynde is a personal favorite. Good on these guys - man oh man I love this.
It appears to me that this School of Rock is cognizant of these kid's voices (picking the right song for the natural range of the individual voice). I don't hear these young people having to strain voices on these songs...that's a good thing...nothing like effin' up a young person's voice with a song that is beyond the natural tessitura of the developing voice of a younger person. I don't if they do this for the final product quality or if it is an intentional consideration for the young voice. Either way, kudos!
Alright clean rhythm was a slave to the snare drum--need to compliment, not copy; fuzz on the lead, like it does so often, just muddled the sound--better to have a slow awkward solo on a clean tone (trebbley maybe) than a 'blazing' fuzz solo that doesn't move anyone 'cause they can't hear it well among other reasons and fuzz or no it should have been higher in the mix; singer was ok it's a low-register song for a girl singer and it's hard to stand out on it, but she had good attitude; drums were great and I can't hear the bass on my laptop so I can't comment.
So who's the chick on guitar, e.g., from 2:03-2:11. She's the best of the guitarists, didn't get proportional time, usual lame press, give time to the flashy ones.
@@jaedynnewton3628 Okay the fact that you have nothing better to do than make fun of children who are still in a school learning is kinda sad. Do you have nothing else to do in your life. And btw all of those things sounded amazing.

I mean old musics awesome but I wouldn't say newer stuff is junk lmao

Agree on all points.

Is the level of the vocals set a bit on the low side?
🤘♥️🥰👍
OMG. I couldn't watch this Mask Madness.
Охуенно спасибо
Where are the vocals 🤷♂️?
I think zombie stomp would have been more fitting...
vox needs to put some emotion in it, just flat

What the hell man! Give em a break! I always want some originality to songs, even if they are covers. Who are you Mutt Lange?
Nice but sounded rushed, studied but not felt or understood.
What are you wearing mask for? lol
Came for the music!!!
Fled from the masks:(
Happy trails!

So in the middle of a guitar solo they should show the rhythm guitarist? Makes zero sense.
EXCELLENT VOCALS Sloppy BAND.
