    Hi Bjorn Nyland, very nice video. Owning an EQC for almost 1 year now and I've done +- 45000km with it, I do have some additional info to share:
    - The EQC has air suspension on the rear, although it isn't ajustable it has at least the suspension caracteristics :). And with 19" wheels the comfort is almost the same (or even better) than the e-tron.
    - you should try (and get used to, took me a while as well) the D-auto mode. It makes the car more efficient and once you get used to it it works great :)
    - mine is on 19" aero (amg) rims, and this has a significant impact on the economy. On a 120km/h highway drive i average (no wind, flat road, temp. of about 13-15 degrees) about 22 kw/h. Now in winter it's about 24-25. The 19" wheels do also offer it a softer ride. I'm convinced that if I would install energy label A tires on both axels (like on most MEB-cars), this would further decrease the consumption.
    It will never be the most economical, but averaging 22 kwh on a longer highway run isn't to bad for this size and weight (and power).
    - If you put the HPC in the navigiation system, it does preheat (at least based in the press info of Mercedes) and honestly, at Ionity I always get the 107-109 KW peak power. At some other HPC suppliers, it can be a bit less. But next to the peak power, it's especially the flat charging curve which is interesting, 10-80% time is as fast as a polestar for example or as an ID4.

      MB planned to build the EQC in Tuscaloosa, because it uses the same platform like the previous C-Class that was built there too. EQC, GLC and C-Class sedan/station wagon were build in Bremen on the same assembly line. But the EQC is phased out already in 2023 and production of the new EQS and EQE SUV will start in Tuscaloosa soon. The 2024 EQC SUV is based on the same platform EVA 2.0 (EQS, EQE sedan and SUV). Wait for Bjørns EQS review and you will notice how advanced the new platform is compared to others, even Tesla.

    In the last part of the video you are discussing what crossover you would consider yourself (instead of EQC). May I ask why you would not consider Model Y? Why Model X, e-tron or ipace over model y? As a generic feedback, I feel that these "impressions & summary" videos would be even more awesome, if you would somehow compare the tested car against its peers in a more structured way (same car class and same price point). No need to rank them but at least have some tangible benchmarking done to support other people's decision making. You are already ranking many electro auto specific content in the excel, could that be extended to more "generic" auto content like build quality, sound system quality, comfort, lights etc?

    Ding Dong dang!! I hate those devices that make a noise to tell you that you have just pushed a button. Ok I get it when there is a moment with urgency or safety. Even horn blowing when a car locks and unlocks. My EQA is pretty good and will be the same as the EQC, although the proximity alerts in my tight parking space send it into hyperspace. I think the 2yr gap between the EQC and EQA has given MB some opportunity to address some of the issues like charging rate. The Navigation charger identification is pretty poor though and I mostly end up like you with zooming in on the Nav screen to a charger, but that does need pre-knowledge of chargers of course. I like the EQA though and have not seen anyone test drive the Audi Q4 yet, and praise it.

    I never use percentage as my state of charge. I want to se approximately how far i can go in KM. percentage is useless to me
    How can you know how far yo u can go by looking percentage? when the range differs depending on the weather. If its -10 degrees the car knows, if its +20 degrees it knows that and it adjusts the KM that you see on the batter state of charge (depends on the car I guess). I duno but for me percentage is the first thing that gets changed when getting in to a new EV.

    • @villho
      @villho 2 роки тому

      Let's say you've driven very nicely 250 km and GOM says you still have 150 km left in range. What if at that point of your trip a long uphill/motorway/headwind/rain starts? How far can you still drive? No way 150 km. Ok, how much battery you have left? You don't know that either. Ie.GOM works only if all the variables stay the same. Otherwise it is - just like it says - a Guess-O-Meter.

    • @MaxFiveGames
      @MaxFiveGames 2 роки тому +4

      @@villho But isn't that exactly the same with percentage. If your are driving up a hill at some unknown road? Also doesn't the gps calculate all the hills, speed limits and approximates the consumption. When you type in the address the car will show approximately how much range (KM) you will have left at the end of your journey it calculates all the hills and stuff (Tesla is really good at that). So you can look for a charging spots near your destination if needed.
      I duno I guess you can get used to percentage sure, but for me that's even more random and it requires even more calculations in your head. So having range in KM is a no brainer for me at least :)

    I looked at it but to me there re two major disadvantages - apart from the range - and that is a. as you correctly say: That it is factually built on an ICE basis with all the disadvantages that come with that. But b. One has to be aware that the EQC in any reasonable setting is here in CZ starting realistically around 2.5 Mio CZk or roughly 100.000 EUR. So for that kind of money it has to be double as good as a Tesla M3 and also better than the Y - since even that is vastly less expensive - etc. in terms of quality. And then it is getting closer to BMW IX and I think that one is again substantially better in several ways. But doubtlessly great build quality, I drive Mercedes now. But as an ICe and even then it is nowadays crazily 3xpensive - c class with reasonable engine and equipment comes easily to 1.8 mio CZK or 80,000 EUR.

    The center consol has more room than you do. Why is plastic more important than the comfort of the driver? That's why I like the Ionic 5. Built for the owner, not a plastic consol with scattered buttons that could easily be located elsewhere. The Ionic 5 proves it can be done.

    The left blinking in the round about is not needed. You blink right before entering only if you take the first exit, otherwise don't blink until you rexit comes up, so anyone form any entrance will understand what you want to do.

      In Norway people blink left. It's good for traffic flow

      Does it really matter tho?
      If a car approaches you in a roundabout, there are 2 option: 1. the car takes the exit you want to enter = you could go in. 2. the car does not want to exit at your spot= you have to let it pass.
      To see that difference, it does not really make a different if the car has no turn signals on or the left one is on, it depends on the time the approaching car turns his right turn signal on, because at that point you know the car will leave the roundabout.

    thanks to the no talking driving I could notice the turn signal is too loud, in fact not the turn signal itself but the mechanism when the physical handle moves ! but 38 min on top of all the others videos on this car …people who work and have children (congratulation by the way…) can simply not see it all…or take time that should be given to other things…what I’m really looking for is the EV6…smaller but bigger inside, in fact I look at the EV6 as an improved (charging speed) i-Pace at a discount price. No time for EQC which is ugly and suffer from it’s fossil roots (ratio of exterior to interior space). EQC will soon be replaced anyway ?

    Inferior range, inferior charging speed, inferior cargo space, transmission tunnel in the back, no frunk, inferior/laggy software, no OTA... but high price, exorbitant price, like it is the best EV price. That is the summary of this car, nice ride with inferior EV tech. But the ICE version if you like the ride, then at least you will know that you are getting one of the best ICE tech available.
