I quite liked this side story. It showed the Wings of Magius being the protagonists and that they aren't cardboard cutout villains but rather well intentioned extremists trying to do good and make the world around them a better place. It also sets the stage for their future efforts to expand the Wings of Magius and 'save' Magical girls. Alina Gray of course is a big exception but even SHE did some good in this arc and was simply a eccentric artist with a moody personality. By the way, her looking uneasy when they all went into the water was a nice change as she's normally sly happy, annoyed or angry.
