Worked on my dad’s mill when I was 14, loved it. Dad set a round piece of log into the ground to where I could set the lumber on it and swivel to put it on our cart. Worked great.

I am watching you. Got some ideas for you. Got to remember you are part of the machine. You will get tired it will not. Pull your tractor back up there. Roll the bucket back a little. You can pile slabs and lumber on the back of the bucket and tops of the loader arms. Almost like a fork lift. You can dump it to. I try and only pick one end at a time. Pick pivot slide. My lumber pile sits perpendicular to the mill dead center. I pivot my lumber on the cant and slide it on to the pile. My mill is higher off the ground gravity helps. I am seeing you need to power that up and down with an old battery drill. Thinking i would figure out some screw type dogs that got hit with the battery impact gun. I set up so i am running uphill. Cut through up and back over everything then down into my second cut. I leave my lumber stacked until done. Gravity helps hold things straight then i shut my mill off and unload. Just think about what you got going on and try to save a couple steps. Hard work milling wood. Tell your friends to keep their hands out of the sawdust bucket. Have fun. I give you two weeks and everything you own will have sawdust in the pockets.

Good to watch a beginner! I'm right behind you...mills comes next week. Advice below is good. I also like the skidding tongs on your front loader to lift log. I welded some 20" forks but the hook might be easier? Thanks and Good luck!
