This is an awesome step back to a period in Jazz that is often overlooked, but you can hear/see the seeds of things that were to come, still in the early stages of fermentation.
I'm embarrassed to admit I'm just discovering this now. Such a gem of a historic moment, with true musical innovators, on the cusp of a whole new genre of jazz. What a great upload.

Great historical video! I'm just reading Gary Burton's autobiography, which is an excellent and entertaining "must read". I think the guitarist is Jerry Hahn. The previous guitarist that year, Larry Coryell, was briefly replaced after the summer of '68 by Chick Corea. But he and Burton couldn't make it mesh, so Jerry Hahn was brought in. And that must be the Jazz master drummer, Roy Haynes, who Gary finally convinced to leave the Stan Getz band.
That must be one of the earliest incarnations of "Steve Swallow - electric bassist" as he still is doubling. The left hand is still playing double bass fingerings mostly and the bass is hanging low and oblique. very interesting .

I went to college with, jammed with, and was friends with Bill Frisell. If only Gary and Jerry knew how much influence they had on Bill!

Yes, the great Jerry Hahn! I had the pleasure of studying with him about 20 years ago. He is still sounding great!

Yep, that's Steve. He hadn't transitioned all the way to electric bass yet. Still playing the upright on some of the tunes.
