- At Superbooth 2024, a new and innovative instrument called the Drop was announced by Art from Mad Sound Factory*. Described as an Analog Groove Box, this machine offers a wide range of sounds including kicks, basses, hi-hats, and weird noises. With features such as tone generator, mixer section, noise generator, and two LFOs, the *Drop allows for creative patching and modulation possibilities. The instrument also offers a unique Drop button that can trigger sounds and add a fun element to performance.
Scheduled to be ready for shipping in three months, Drop can be controlled through analog clock signals or MIDI sync. Designed for both live performances and studio use, this instrument offers a wide range of sonic possibilities for musicians looking to experiment with rhythm and sound design.

PS: how does it sync?
you can sync via analog trigger in, clock and reset inputs, just use any CV source. If you have only MIDI outputs - just use MIDI-CV converter, like MSF Clocker.

It can sound pretty clean too tho - you can dial the amount of saturation, select which noise to use - some of them are mellow, some really metallic - 6 analog noise types!…
I called this as the best in show for 24 now……all together now….

Somehow this sounds kinda lifeless. Could use way more grit in the kick oscillator sound source. Or less hygienic preamps inside the thing. Whatever the reason of the kinda static sound character is.
