I thought Seth resembled kip as well. I never mentioned it however as im sure seth would not appreciate that comment. But its hard to not see the resemblance.
I can tell you guys have done what I have learned. Do what you're passionate about and work will never seem like "work". Just the fact that you guys are willing to put out content in the middle of our holidays shows that you love what you do and we absolutely appreciate it. Thanks guys.
You two are my favorite 2021 videos watched. You both are very very enjoyable to hang with virtually. It's just pure joy to listen to both. Thank you so much for your work!!!
As a knife expert myself I will say purchasing price is definitely my starting point. A lot of these big companies have no cause for their hefty price tags and then the look-a-likes are a third of the prices with same quality in build.
@@adamjohnson7385 It's like a whole different knife, compared to my titanium/damascus Delica. That is so stiff opening and closing, there really is no fidget factor at all. The Stretch is great, just press on the backlock and flick open and closed.
I really appreciate the real and honest opinions and the real people aspect to your channel over some of the other knife store channels. Thank you for keeping it Real
I got sad when I saw Seth with Spyderco Horn. I have (had) a partially serrated one.It was misplaced for the longest time , about 10 yrs. Long story short I allowed a secondary party through Ace Hardeware sharpen my knife. I was told they do not do serrations, I said that is fine, I only wanted the straight edge sharpened; what I got back was an expensive ground down letter opener that doesn't close anymore. I have not gone back to that store and it's close by.I have since learned to sharpen and am still learning and love sharpening knives. Thank you guys and gals for all you do for the knife community. GOD bless!!
As a Spyderco collector and someone who has only been collecting for the past 7 or 8 years,it’s really nice to get to see some of their knives from back before I was really into knives.dont get me wrong,I’m a country boy from East Tennessee,I’ve been using knives since I was 7 or 8 years old.I have always appreciated a good knife.I just wasn’t a collector.I used the knives my dad gave me as a child.he gave me a Victorinox SAK,a Buck 110 and old Puma trailing point fixed blade hunting knife with the stag handle and the Pumaster steel blade.I also found my uncle’s old short heavy machete in the barn and used it for camping.I used these knives up until I was around 25 years old and then I retired them because of their sentimental value.after that I bought other knives to replace those old knives.I bought a few $20-$30 duds that just didn’t do it for me from 25-30 years old.around 30 years old I started doing a little research.after I quit being cheap I started buying higher end knives in modern steels and I got hooked and been collecting ever since
I snagged a civivi relic for 40 bucks such a steal for nitro-v and g10 with tweezers. I got a ton of knives at amazing deals this year though its crazy what companies like kizer and civivi discounted some of their knives to.
I have to agree with Seth regarding the Stretch 2 K390, but go to the top with it. It's my favorite Spyderco. Ergos are outstanding, and well...K390! Being me I had to modify it though. Forced patina on the high carbon blade, die the scales black, and black deep carry clip from MXG. It makes it into my pocket more often than the ZT's, Sebenza, Spartan Harsey, etc... It's darn near perfect IMHO.
17:20 yeah a lot of companies rotate new knives in and the old knives out and sometimes that happens in the span of just a few years and you cant get it anymore after that unless its a third party sale. Kizer is a great example they are currently rotating a lot of knives out of production and offloading them with holiday sales and bringing new knives into production. I got some insane deals but at the same time I cant get parts because they are discontinued knives and they do not have anything for them nor do they make them.
I'll throw in a vote for the K390 line from Spyderco. I got the Endura 4 with K390 as well as the Manbug. They hold an INCREDIBLE edge. It's well worth the price.
I very much enjoyed this video!,Two knowledgeable knife men talking about different makers different steels there favs and so on. Could watch these types of videos all day! Thank you!
Thanks for the xmas video! i really enjoyed it! thanks for taking the time. Love you guys and can't wait for more. I try to tell everyone i know to watch these videos ! thanks for all you guys do ! :)
Excellent holiday gift, guys, thank you! Very much enjoyed this. I have one of those Centofante folders but with a non-serrated blade. I used it for years as a bait knife and it looks it. Years ago I lost the screws for the pocket clip and then eventually lost track of the pocket clip as well. One of the first good knives I ever bought though, along with some other steel handled Spydercos of the same time....one of which is a full serrated Harpy which I still occasionally use.
I like the format & idea of y’alls pickups for 2021. My favorite pickups were two fixed blades, Gerber Freeman with orange handles & a SOG Ace. Then two Gerber slip joints, the straight lace in blue & green
Wow, what a fantastic Christmas Day bonus! Thanks guys, really appreciate you giving your time to bring us this brilliant video!! This was the 2nd bonus of the day for me, as my wife bought me the Fallkniven GP Black Micarta for Christmas and it's a beauty!
The lil’ native with the compression lock in my opinion is the best Spyderco. I don’t like putting my fingers in the path of the blade and it’s smaller version of the shaman to me.
Thanks for sharing! I’m not a collector but really do value owning a small assortment of well crafted, high quality and truly beautiful knives. I have learned so much from your channel and look forward to future purchases from your company.
100% agree when it comes to the k390 stretch. That’s a knife that when I got it in, I was shocked at how good it was and that feeling has only grown since. My old zdp stretch is still awesome. In many ways, it’s just as ergonomically satisfying. But the k390 SS is on another level…it belongs on the mt rushmore of all time spyderco designs.
I love that M18, it's a very similar usage to the Tops Skull crusher, I absolutely love the Tops, it does everything, processing wood, skinning and the M18 would run right up there with that style. My top 3 knives that I added and use in my collection over the past couple years would have to be (not in any order) would be my Tops Operator7, Skull crusher and the Tops Police Interceptor (that I daily carry). I actually bought a 2nd Interceptor after retiring my first one after 10-12 years of daily use and abuse. I have lots of other brands, but for some reason the Tops are made to be used not just collected. Thats a huge part of what I make a decision on buying a new knife is I have to be able to beat on it and actually use it. Great video!
Spyderco stretch 2 in k390 is my favorit knive I have ever had 1000X better than the PM2. I love it soo much I have several because I carry it soo much and afraid to lose it with with out a back up. Can't complement it enough and k390 is my favorite steel ever!. Can we get a native 5 in k390? That'a all I need in my collection is the Stretch 2 and native 5 in k390.
Love that channel! Great work, great content, great hosts, awesome videos. It's kind of a challenge to access online products here in Canada. Merci beaucoup !
Nice. My family was on a hard budget this year. Me and my wife decided on a quality kitchen knife, found a great sale on a Boker 9" carving knife. Couldn't be happier. Typically Santa hooks it up with a sweet user or tactical folder. Merry Christmas everyone, I hope your holidays are going well.
I declare this MUST become a Christmas tradition!!! I'm alone this year so this is great way to spend part of my day!! Besides it makes me feel less terrible about all my recent knife pickups 😂
I also picked up the carbon fiber+S90V Bugout this year as well as the Mini Adamas in Cruwear..I have a K390 Stretch 2 as well and I love it.I personally like the PM2 better but certainly not by much
David, my absolute favorite "big folder" has to be the Spyderco Caribbean sheepsfoot plain edge. I live on the Pacific NW coast, and love having the Caribbean for outdoor fun and adventures. The ONLY "minus" is that the lock requires two hands to manipulation, as I am a lefty.
Hey D.C.A My wife gave me a lionsteel besrman for Christmas and I love this as a present! My problem now is that I need a one-handed opening knife as a second knife! Somewhat larger 3.5 to 4 inches like the spyderco police or the coldsteel broken scull. And to add a twist I'm left-handed so it should work for both hands! Thank you from Austria
Merry Christmas DCA, Seth and Thomas! As always, I love the banter, and the Nessmuks are interesting. Just starting to get interested in small fixed blades and Spydercos.
I want an esee 4 personally one of the newer ones with the nice contoured g10. All I could afford at the time was a Rat 3 which is great but the handle is nowhere near as comfortable with no contouring on the hard flat handle. Like he mentioned the contoured handles are a gamechanger and it should've been done way sooner. Plus they are offering s35vn now on some models which is nice for people who want to EDC a smaller esee in a different sort of environment. But the ESEE 6 for outdoor use you would absolutely want 1095 over s35vn but on an izula or something s35vn would be great.
Graduated or differential handle would make sense? More traction and textures toward the front of the knife, or deeper textures on the opposite side from the pocket clip.
Congrats on your Daughter DCA, an trust me that is just the intro! Lol my Daughter is 35 now happy, successful, married to a great man, an three beautiful granddaughters, an she can still interrupt anything she wants lol.

Never thought I’d be getting solid knife advice by Kip from Napoleon Dynamite but he is spot on. Freaking Sweet!

Yeah Ned Flanders is pretty cool.
The guy is stellar. So glad to see him on with DCA. Both great dudes and very entertaining to watch.
Seth c Napoleon dynamite I trust both of them. Vote Pedro.

Spyderco k390 models were my workhorses this year, tough as hell. They pretty much garaged all my other work knives. Worth every penny
Me too. The stretch 2 k390 has become my main lady. Merry Christmas 🎄

Thanks DAC and Seth B for giving us an inside look at what you guys buy and carry. Lots of variety between the two of you.
It took me 3 days to watch it all, and it was worth it! Thank You.
Agree on the Stretch 2, it´s a winner.
Blows the PM2 out of the water as a user.
