- How to ruin a Lamborghini Gallardo driving experience, the instructor was a nob!
He “did” tell me to change down a gear at 2:55 seconds. Knob!.
Instructor-"Down a gear". He goes down a gear. "Don't touch the gears, I never said down a gear". Yes you did you prick.
Yeah but Peter Pissquick had already changed down before the instructor told him to. Then he changes down again. So he changes down 2 gears and gets huge overrev.
The moment someone says you’re just not listening to me are you, I’d put my foot down and drive the car how I want I paid for an experience not someone elses
@@blank-dr2kx That's when you'd see a black flag and spend the rest of the day standing in the pits. You're not a racing a driver. You're a clueless twat that's turned up to a racing track. You can't drive a ford focus fast. That's why no one is going to just let you out on a track to do what you want in a Lamborghini.
@@michael1 Adam Pissquick :)
The instructors at these things all think they're gods gift to driving. When all they actually are there for is to make sure you baby the car and don't use anywhere near its full performance
My exact thoughts they never let them rev out fully so irritating to watch and I'd imagine it's a bad experience for the driver
Most are yes, I remember doing a experience day a few years ago and in the 911 rs and a Ferrari california I was constantly being told to short shift etc however when I jumped in the hurican the guy just kept pushing me to go faster, had it sideways (under control) a few times and he just get telling me to push the car 😂
Well I just went on one today and absolutely screwed hell out of 3 cars and my last car was a Ferrari and he made me keep going hard... Maybe it's down to the person driving style, hence myself being track taught through karting and able to handle a car to people who think it's easy when it's not.
Instructor here. Look, I'll admit that instructor experiences will vary, sometimes massively. Some instructors I know are (in my opinion) indeed not far off gods gift to driving, compared to the vast majority of most people. They can have a huge amount of racing experience in all sorts of cars, be high grade race instructors (the ones that sign off race licenses), but even then some of those can still be inherently poor instructors. On the other hand, I know of some 'instructors' with less year's driving experience, nothing on track! It depends on the experience company, how desperate they are chasing customer numbers or do they stick to limits, quality vs quantity. Another experience company I know insist no instructor is qualified until they have an assessment with a dedicated instructor on given training days. So, instructor quality, it all depends...
As for not letting you use all the performance, look at it this way. Broadly speaking, compared to circuits, you pay nowhere near what you would for that amount of tracktime (and the car hire) at an experience day. No marshals, no safety barriers that circuits need money to maintain, no safety kit, no helmets, so you have to drive accordingly. Put it this way: I've never met you, yet I'm putting my life in your hands. How do I know that you won't loose control and put us in a tree or another car because you're flat out, and can't handle the speed? I've literally no idea! Plus, I might have to get through 30-40 customers on a busy day, I've got 3 laps with you, it's tricky to build that trust with everyone straight away, sorry. If you want to go flat out, I'd happily suggest Silverstone (full disclosure I've worked there too) - you are definitely encouraged to go (pretty much) flat out, but because the time spent with the instructors is much more and there's acres of run off (and helmets), and marshals. But, that means you pay a lot more, too.
Just giving hopefully a bit of insight on the other side ;)
He clearly and loudly said down a gear 😭
Rip
I did one of these for my 18th birthday a few years ago. Wasn't allowed to change out of 4th for pretty much the entire 3 laps. I understand they've got the maintain their cars but really takes the point out of the driving experience for the driver when you can only cruise around at 60mph.
ive got one tomorrow will see if its the same, suspect it is
@@benmatheson1189 how did it go?
I was watching, waiting to see what happened to ruin it and all the while i kept thinking 'that instructor is a right knob' then I read the description after 🤣
I’d had enough of him after the 3 minute mark , it’s a real spoiler when you look forward to something for weeks maybe months and it’s spoilt by a rotten instructor , ergh frustrating to watch
Can you tell me something ?
Are the instructors forever grabbing the wheel ?
Please dont tell me he has a brake pedal like this learning cars ?
@@joe18425 Yes. It's not worth it. Spend a little more and hire a self drive supercar and let it rip in the peak district.
I'm surprised he didn't tell you when to blink!
These so called instructors go on a very basic course which teaches them to chat bollocks as you drive round. They only work a few days a year and get paid per day. They have little experience in driving around track and ruin experience days.
I had a driving experience the instructor was a proper bellend.
At the time I was 45 have driven all round the world x2 active service tours in war zones have all my licences including hgv1 and motorcycle my job is Heavy crane operator so I drive a 500 t crane with a rolling gross weight of 134t from Scotland to Central London.
Yet still he spoke at me as though I was on my driving test. Totally ruined the experience for me instead of just shutting up he was talking shite
He was calling up gears late, down gears early, off accelerator way too early, brakes way too early, and to top it all off he obviously has late stage dementia.
I did a Ferrari and Nissan GTR drive many moons ago at this same “track” and my instructor was a utter c**t as well. They really do have no idea how to instruct. One flex of your big toe and they have a shit fit. You pay a lot for these things and can’t experience the car over about 3k revs. Absolutely pointless.
i think that instructors got dementia he definitley said off the power, brake then down a gear maybe he needs to have a few lessons himself
I sincerely hope you made a complaint about this guy. What an awful instructor.
If anyone wants to do a driving experience, I'd recommend going to an actual track. Thruxton instructors never told me what gear to be in, just gave me advice on car positioning and shift timing as I went around
The driving experience is down to the instructor ive had a poor instructor before and some really great ones who actually make it fun
I did a driving experience day with the same company and it seems there geared up to keeping your speed down. More recently i did an audi r8 drive at thruxton and was 100% different. At thruxton they actively encourage you to put your foot down and drive to the best of your ability. Awesome experience which i will do again.
Waste of money with this company, made it so boring when I did mine
Can you tell me which track was it ? Thanks
I hate the way these instructures ruin it, fella only went 100, haha do that on motorway, should go well over it
exactly, fucking vauxhall corsa is cheaper than the experience and can do the same stuff on the A1 lmao
I have reviewed the totality of video evidence presented in this case.
After a full forensic examination and alone, by the weight of evidence, it is clear the instructor is a knob jockey.
Case closed
👁👄👁🍿
Clearly said down a gear numpty instructor
Just ignore the guy and smash it round 😂
I would not pay for a tour like this...
You hear the instructor mess up 3 mins in. He clearly says go down a gear then immediately denies it. 😢
Me and a few lads did one of those experience days at Elvington. One of them drove an R35 GTR and got an extra lap as the instructor spoke to him rudely. These experience days imo aren't worth the money imo as they are but to then have this sort of instructor 🙄
Can anybody explain to me why they get us shifting at 4500rpm? I.e tell you to accelerate to go past a car, but then saying up a gear up another gear as your overtaking.. where not actually getting into the power band… driving around at 60mph in 4/th, 80 in 50th.. why are they not letting us ever feel the full power?
Why i never want to deal with driving lessons or instructors ever, ill figure it out myself i dont need some middle aged dude that couldnt make the cut thats mad at life giving me grief for no reason.
He's a terrible instructor.
Driving on track is extremely daunting and not an easy thing to do safely. He made things worse for the driver.
My partner bought me a driving experience when we were first getting to know each other which I appreciated however I felt so embarrassed to tell her a short while after that I work in test and development and drive around tracks everyday. I felt awful :D
Just watching these videos makes me never want to do this! Someone barking in my damn ear every second? Are you kidding me?? I would never enjoy this!
This is like a 1/100 thing so you shouldn’t worry too much, depends where you go
I had this instructor with Every Man racing at the track they own can’t remember what it’s called. Was in a Porsche and he tried telling me I couldn’t use the kick down on the accelerator. I took no notice obviously. He said it had been a long day and he’d had enough of the jerking
Yep, I'm sure it's fun on the 1st day being a super car instructor and then downhill from the 2nd day on the job...
I've got a session booked to drive a DB9 next week and am a little bit anxious, as if this happens I won't be doing it again.. I'm assuming it's gonna be a bit rubbish
They shouldn’t let old men with Alzheimer’s Instruct 😂
I had 1 once I was in a gtr I know how good th brakes are in these cars and broke fine he bollocked me for not braking early enough which completely ruined my experience of the car but what made me laugh was at the end he said I didn't hit boost once and I wonder why
At my experience my instructor pressed the brake as I wanted to break later. Similar like your one...
I drive on track competently and if I had someone talking like this in the fucking car I’d not know what the fuck either.. nightmare
All of the instructors who work here have little to none racing experience.
They are not even qualified ARDS instructors. Always been known as an embarrassment to the instructing industry.
I had an instructor doing a level 3 aff parachute jump who was exactly like this.... completely took my confidence away for the jump....I was in shreds before I got into the aeroplane as he stripped me of confidence....just like this twat.
He was sacked from his job I found out for reducing a woman to tears.
Obviously....he had talent, experience.....but not everyone is a good teacher, enough said.
Well done Adam.....I'd drive with ya anytime dude
Slower in that than my Volvo estate diesel 😂. Why are they making you brake so early!
I genuinely think I could get my car round there quicker in nothing more than a spirited manner, even if it struggles to reach a ton.
He definitely told you to change down for no reason at all 😡
What circuit was this at?
Here: maps.app.goo.gl/wgiri7NjL4oJ4bQDA
Looks awful can't even change gears when you want.
Done loads and these "experiences" are crap. Do a single seater or outdoor karting session instead.
These experiences are rubbish, cars like this Rev to 8000rpm and he’s got you changing up at 5000 at the most.
I had a Ferrari experience years ago in a 360 Modena, they Rev to 8800 and they had fitted an adjustable Rev limit to lower it to 6500, complained as didn’t get to experience the power properly!
I must say my instructor was a dick at Silverstone too, I drove to the circuit on a 370hp Fiat Coupe turbo, I had experience with fast cars but the poor Ferrari felt slow because they had imposed this much lower Rev limit.
Better to just buy one and use it on track days, that’s what I eventually did after years of saving.
That instructor is a pain in the ass
He definitely did - brakes, down a gear. 🤷♂️
Fuck me i got one of these days for this year, i be like alan partridge with the geordie guy in the lift😂
What a crap instructor
Ah mate. I'm so sorry.
You wanted to jump in the white gtr with the instructor that was letting his driver hoon it! 😍
He did say down a gear. I hope I don't get this guy.
How was it? Im thinking of booking
My experience was nothing like this, just a tool of an ‘instructor’…
He also told you to do your own thing but listen to him 🤣
Haha... that is very true 👍
@@CronieeCam oh and clearly told you to drop down a gear then proceeded to say he said nothing. Yeah fuck that guy!
@@CronieeCam oh and clearly told you to drop down a gear then proceeded to say he said nothing. Yeah fuck that guy!
It's not a race, but you're braking too early.
What a clown..I hope u called him out!...I did this recently at ingliston! Was good...800bhp r35 gtr and a McLaren 570s🤔I think lol ..but the track was less than a mile long with 5 corners on it!! Pretty much 2nd and 3rd gear😐... Instructor's were better than this dude! Ex race driver's...would love to give it a go at east fortune tho
Ok apart from ole grumpy bollox
i dont think ill ever go for one of these, looks annoying. ill stick with my evo.
The instructions are very poor, and deceitful.
I could do that lap faster in my old Vauxhall. These supercar experiences are a complete scam.
I clearly heard him say brake and down a gear he's a knob that instructor
was this manual?
which circuit?
Paddle shift on the wheel, Prodrive circuit at Kenilworth
@@CronieeCam was it semi automatic?
could you choose between manual of automatic
this would annoy the heck out of me. 👎
Instructors are a waste of time
Hope you complained to them lad. You pay decent money to drive them cars
I’ve got one of these coming up. I hope I’m allowed to absolutely floor it. Otherwise it ruins the whole experience
As you can see for the video, he’s shifting gears super early before any type of power kicks in, you never feel the full power
Guys got dementia🤯
What’s the point of this if you can’t even test the car lmao not worth it at all
can you do track day without an instructor?
Yep purchase the car.

2:52 you change down a gear before the instructor says to do so, that's what he was compaining about. No hard to follow directions.
"Down a gear", *driver changes down a gear*, wtf u on about bro😂
he did nothing wrong the person driving did it on time
This is why I’d prefer doing track days without them
@@robinthebobin6537 no you can see closely that he downshifts before the instructor asks to
Yep, effectively he changes down twice causing a big overrev - and although the instructor appears to say he didn't say change down when he did, he's annoyed because just before your timestamp he says to change up and the guy ignores him then. He clearly isn't listening and is both not changing when the instructor says and changing when he hasn't said. Until that one time when he changes down when the instructor says BUT he'd already changed down just before the instructor spoke so ended up changing down 2 gears. This guy should stick to Forza.
biden moment
