In the past, the only way to send an eBook to a Kindle was to send a mobi file through different methods. However, just recently, Amazon announced that you can now send ePub files - and soon, they will no longer accept mobi files.
So in this video I am going to cover the 3 methods in which you can send an ePub to a Kindle. I will also cover which methods I prefer and which you should stay away from and why.

If you are here and send epub to your kindle and send to kindle failed to send your file to your kindle, convert epub to Mobi and from Mobi to epub and send it again. It works. I don't know why, but it works. You are welcome.

Can you make a video on how to fix blank covers in the library? This only happens with epub files. Mobi files all have covers.

@@Appoorle take a screenshot of the cover and then add it to Calibre. It’s how I’ve done it.
Important: You will find your epub in "Documents". Not in your "book orders". From there, you can send it.

Thank you! I did this with my Kindle Fire, and it worked perfectly. I had to go into my contents & devices page to approve my email address, but now I have have more books to read!
For now i used the third method on my IPhone 11 and it doesn't change at all the book format and it works perfectly. I just select the EPUB file and directly open it on the app , after a minute (it takes some time) it will appear on the app in the document section or with your downloaded books. This is perfect since sometimes i buy e-books from others distributors , not just amazon , so i have everything in one app instead of having 2 apps for all my books.

how to convert books to kindle and have them display as BOOKS not as DOCUMENTS? all books i download come in the documents section and so will not show on my 'reading insights' when i read them. thanks

Yeah, I really got into it when I had to learn how to send school books to my 10 year old daughter's Kindle. Sort of made me a pro at this process thanks to that...haha. Oh the necessity.
I just sent three epub books to my Kindle and I noticed that unlike the way it worked with the mobi format, this time the kindle didn't recognize the cover art of my books and I hated it. Is it a bug from their end? I would hate it if with the new updates I wasn't able to see my book covers.

@@eldonmati as of now, the issue remains and come august, they'll discontinue mobi.
I use the Calibre program to send my books to Kindle. Much easier than emailing or using the desktop app!
ok, but then you have to find where is your kindle (pocket, bag, kitchen, etc) , use a cable, go to your calibre app, etc... by email you just need to send the file to your kindle email (when you type it for the first time, you don't need to type it again)!!! That's all!!! Easy...
@@engineer2117 gmail can send books up to 25mb....bigger epubs cannot be sent by gmail, for example. Also, no cover appear when sending via email. @pamela, did you managed to send epubs to kindle via calibre with covers?

Hi 🙂 I was trying to send an epub file just like I used to send mobi files previously, using my e-mail and sending the file to my Kindle e-mail but it is not working, I don't even get the verification e-mail... Am I doing something wrong 😅? Thank you so much

I have just sent the book in *epub AND mobi format to my kindle email*- it seemed to work??
I tried to send ePub today mid/late august and isn’t working for me. I get a reply email from Amazon listing the files that I can use, but don’t know ☹️
Also when I sent a mobi file it didn’t deliver either :/saying it they won’t support anymore this type of file 😣😣😣
You can still send mobi files via emailing. Change the file extension from .mobi to .jpg on your PC. And just send it. It'll pop up on your Kindle as a book. Nothing else you need to do. Tested and done this a hundred times

How to transfer iPhone epub book to kindle app
I had to stop watching after two minutes because I paused and then did it.
In my case, the ePub link was on Discord and I wanted to read the book on my iPad. So I used FireFox on my iPad to visit Amazon to discover my kindle email (which I didn’t even know existed until I saw this yt) and then I sent the email etc. No book in the Library!
Sync, the man said. Oh! Sync. Still no book - and then, all of a sudden it appeared! Like Magic!

I’m really sad because whenever I email ePub books to my kindle, all of the words are jumbled up! Every second word has extra characters like “£” “@“ “%” and more! So frustrating because mobi never had ANY PROBLEMS! I can’t find any solution!
Oh, bummer. What program did you use to convert it to ePub? Also, when you originally added it to your program of formatting, hopefully you didn't do a copy and paste - this can sometimes bring in code and epub doesn't do well with that code. But other than that, I'm not sure.

Re: emailing yourself the epub file. if i dont get an email from amazon what do i do? i already tried using "send to kindle" and that failed twice. the file is zipped, do i need to unzip it first? i got an ARC of a book from an author and i need to read it this week
I am sending epub via email and while it shows up there are windings mixed into the text (Talkin’ ’bout). Any idea as to why and how I can fix it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

One thing to keep in mind (used to be the case), is that you had to approve the email you're sending from, otherwise it doesn't deliver to the device. This is especially problematic when you have to have all of your ARC readers add your email address. If they're not tech savvy... Yeah.
If the need to approve senders' email addresses is gone, woo hoo! Just something to keep in mind.
Why should work like this then? I started to hate all this BS from Amazon, changing all the time (unnecessarily which doesn't do ANY better)

ive sent my books to my kindle email, and I cant see it on my kindle. please help. (btw, I sent it as an ePub, below 50MB)
First, try to see if your Kindle has synced. If it hasn't, then that is the problem. If not, then not sure.
Using the "Send to Kindle" app, how do I send an epub to my wife's Kindle and NOT to my iPhone. We already have a shared household library, but the epub (using this app) does not show up there.

Same. It’s extremely frustrating. They take away mobi and add EPUB but the ePub files I send aren’t accepted on my kindle. I know they work because I can open them elsewhere. So dumb

Great video! The only problem I have is that it doesn't work for me lol. I have an older kindle (2015) and the only time the email will come through is when I send in the MOBI format. It's driving me nuts because for the life of me I can't figure out why that is. I'll go through the same EXACT process sending an EPUB but it will never come through. PLEASE HELP!

I must be missing something here: I can't find an EPUB file for the book I got on Amazon (for free!). It shows up in my Kindle library but when I opened it, I had to buy it for $3.99, which I did, but the file won't open on Amazon so I can't drag it to the email page. I have Amazon's Send To Kindle page, but there is no way to find the book I'm trying to get: Stranger In A Strange Land. When I click on the link to the book, this comes up: "SORRY we couldn't find that page. Try searching or go to Amazon's home page" Help!
I was able to get the covers to show on my kindle using the email method. At first I tried sending the epub file through my galaxy s22 and the covers didn't show. Then I tried sending through my galaxy tablet using the same exact file and the same email address and they all show up fine. Try sending through a different device. I also used a Gmail account to send them. Good luck!

that when sending e-books (epub, mobi, azw3) via mail, the send to kindle program, calibre via mail to kindle Paperwhite se, kindle automatically converts them to doc format for some reason. And these books are already displayed as documents, not books. In the iOS app also in doc. If I download from iPhone to epub, mobi when opening these files in the kindle application, they are also converted to doc. The only way when books are thrown off normally and displayed as books on a kindle device is when I convert in the calibre program on my computer and send it to the device itself, but in this case, for some reason, the device with the iOS application does not sync and the books in the application are not displayed at all. Why is this happening?

I am using Send to Kindle via email, for a few weeks now! Today I tried to transfer from my computer via USB some epub format books! It shows in the kindle folder on the desktop, but when I disconnect the USB, I cannot see them. In the future, will we be able to transfer via Kindle application and USB too?

Amazon-Kindle is becoming TOO MESSY!!!... Your suggestions are very good. However, shouldn't exist and don't work as expected. I truly started to HATE this Amazon-Kindle platform. I'm using Calibre and done all what was asked, I'm still getting rejections/error messages regardless I upload the files on epub, mobi, and even in their own format azw3. I made sure that all TOC was OK, no cover photos (for Kindle) included inside the files, reasonable size photos inside, no ISBN, etc. Still... more rejections. It wouldn't surprise me that with Atticus happens the same now. C'mon Amazon!!!... You should be much easier... Most publishers are going crazy and VERY upset (like me) on many, many forums, whereas most tutorials are down the drain!!!... This is too frustrating. I'll look for another publisher or forget about Amazon. I am truly SICK & TIRED of so many contradicting messages. Thanks Jeff Bezos for your greedy help...

So they won't let us email or download a Mobi file, but how can they stop use from loading a mobi version via USB connection? The only way they could do that is to prevent Kindles from reading MOBI formats--which would mean all of our old ebook downloads wouldn't work. I don't think they'll go that far.
I can no longer send mobi files over USB for a few months now. They disabled that function too.
