@@TheJanope13 i reckon jt would have helped old mate get out of the hole alot easier then just letting Mac flog the dadtruck again and again and again trying to pull him sideways. If mac blew his diff again they were both cooked
@@MakingMoneyyy857 yeh I have actually. They help alot getting out of bog holes like that. Not to climb mountains. Especially when a car is in 2wd, gives a great advantage. And Id rather dig out a track out of the mud, just follow the lanyard, then risk a mates car over and over and over and have us both in the shit. Even some timbers or rocks could have helped. I guess U have rich mates or U don't care bout other people's property like I do?
MORR - Mac's Off Road Recovery - Great way to spend a day helping a stuck mate. Great video content. I love mud recoveries. I could watch them all day. I hate the clean up (never seem to get rid of it all) so avoid mud these days.
Quick Tip - if you need to winch something UP out of a hole and you need leverage against the ground, grab your spare wheel off and run the cable over that. As you winch in it pulls the car up (provided wheel is taller than recovery point) Disclaimer - not detracting from the awesome work all three lads did to safely get it done. And it may not have worked in that application. Cheers boys for another cracking episode. 👌🏼
Mate Kenilworth is an animal! Have a very similar story! Hectic mission thought I was gonna lose the cruiser and home at 2am! Wild when it’s wet! Nice recovery man!
I would not have thought about reversing down attached to the winch, ill keep that one in mind for a rainy day. Way to stay cool calm and collected maca, its recoveries like this that you get so anxious and not even sure if youll get out or not but you have to figure out a way with all the nerves etc.
Awesome video boys 🤙🏻 mate of the year award getting it done on a recovery like that!! Constant rain, bogged trucks, mud to your knees - just like being back in Tassie - only warmer 😂😂
One of your best videos Maca, leaving your vehicle on the tracks is stressful AF and you never forget the mate that drives out with you to get your rig out 🤙🤙
What a Great Video. Recovering a mates 4wd. No panicking. Just make a plan. One person in charge, and take it slowly. The end result, the vehicle recovered, only needed a good wash.
Just wanted to throw in a comment to say thanks for my shed life shirt. I'm now a member and plan on remaining one for many years to come. Thanks guys, love your content. Keep it coming
Just come across this, I'm in the Glasshouse Mnt's area. That was mad AF !! Big shout out to Troy for the epic footage and leg work, What a bloke! Subscribed.
Bloody oath mate, was looking foward to seeing how this unfolded after seeing the aftermath on your insta. You’re a bloody good bloke for digging and helping a fella out. Keen to see the high mount you put in the cruiser 😉
Mac love your ability to stay positive and keep spirits up. Great example of a real recovery. Mostly controlled thought out. There will always be the people that say should of done this should of done that but hindsight is 20/20, easy to say how you would of done it when you didn't and still much more professional of a recovery then some you see with bigger channels just sending shit and ending up on their sides and with the recovery car going to sleep as well because they rushed shit. Saw your vid on the jeep track as well with the other cruiser on the side and was impressed with that recovery as well. Keep up the good work lads great content.
Hats of to use for getting job done right...hats of to maca mate what a champion guy head out and save his mate..hats of to you legend..everyone needs a maca in their crew absolute legend...well till next video bottles up cheers.
Great video. Good of you to make light and laughter in a shit situation. And good to show what actually happens in a pretty serious and dangerous recovery situation. Probably would have been easier to get a Unimog out there but you got it done between the 3 of you even in the rain and mud
Nice work Maca! That’s epic, I watched it last night and thought I’d leave a comment to say good job, taking things slowly and safely. I didn’t think you were getting him out.
What a mission that was, I was expecting the winch to go about half way up that hill, the cruiser did a brilliant job mate but keen to hear the damage report on the other cruiser, fantastic episode
You and i both! Would have been interesting driving the rest without a whinch 🤣 Apologies i did forget that as it got so late! He dented a door (before recovery) and blew the front diff!

Thank goodness for mates....that would of been a very expensive recovery otherwise....what an epic recovery and awesome episode love how even the lows of the game can turn out to be an adventure....YES please do an episode on the same track dry, would like to see.
16:08 Hey macca, when you were pulling Brady's bus sideways and it was digging that back left tyre in, you should've placed a spare tyre on its round under the rope as close to his car as possible, this then pulls the vehicle up and out. Little trick we do when pulling vehicles out of quick sand in sandy cape Tasmania Enjoyed the video legend
Your winch isolator has likely melted, get a high amperage 300A truck isolator. The supplied one is usually crap and fails under heavy use. I've had this happen to my Runva on a 4 hour recovery.
Have a look at Runva, they have a lifetime warranty on mechanicals, and 5 years on electricals. Mines 5 years old and still going strong-after upgrading the isolator.
You guys were so lucky, before I was old enough to drive, a guy I used to work with used to take me along with his brother and mates, one of the first times he took me, they found an old patrol (I think) that had been stuck and left there (it wasn't abandoned or anything it was perfectly fine) and they stole the wheels and whatever else they could. I refused to help them, I couldn't bring myself to do that.
Ripper episode lads!!! Loved it. I’m not trying to be the “should of done that” guy, a good little trick that I think may have helped at the bottom when trying to straighten him up, would have been to put his spare tyre parallel to and under the strap/rope near his end of the vehicle, help lift that back up and out of the mud. It’s easy to say it now when not in the heat of the moment, that was a massive effort.
Should of tried the spare wheel under the back strap so it would pull up something I learnt off roothy years ago saved my mate at fraiser in sinking sand
I know is kinda like a last resort but wouldn't it be possible to run the winch from underneath the reversing LC? It probably will mess up the line, but will definitely help in pulling and replacing the line wont break the buck...
I new when you switched to single line you where getting impatient, I said to myself he is going to fry the winch now. Oh well we have all done that. I always stay double lined now, I have over heated to many winches over the years. Good Video. Rocky Mountains area in Canada.
Does no one use hi lift jacks any more? Once upon a time we would've jacked that up on a plate and pushed it off sideways to get the tyre out of the rut? For reference, and I am sure you know this, a 5 tonne strap isnt about the weight of the car, but the car+the mud you're trying to pull it from, anyway... Kudos to Macca's honesty for stating "this track looks fun, but I wouldn't do it in the wet". Top effort, surely was a costly effort for Brady.
Put the winch isolator on the earth, it I’ll have bugger all current going through the earth compared to it being on the positive side. The connections cause resistance which causes heat along with massive amp draw. Earth doesn’t ✌️
I've got to say the best part of four-wheel driving is when you get in situation's like this doing it in the dry is fun but when it's wet and things don't go to plan that is four-wheel driving it's like the old camel trophy if you don't know what camel trophy is look it up
