- First ride & my thoughts on the 2024 Triumph Speed 400 after I bought the bike on Memorial day Weekend. It's impossible to find one of these brand new Triumph 400cc model motorcycles to demo ride before buying. So I researched what I could, sat on both the Scrambler 400 X and the Speed 400 and I chose the smaller "Speed 400" bike for fun factor.
I am not being paid, these are my own opinions. These are my first thoughts as I ride it off the dealer lot. Thanks to Bert's Mega Mall in Azusa for a lovely sales experience.
I really like this motorcycle. I bought it for a fun toy, small motorcycle, that was also freeway capable.
I'm still breaking in the bike. Life took me out of town for awhile so this video was delayed in the making. But I'm reunited with my Triumph Speed 400 and had fun on it today. And I'm still breaking it in. I'll post more videos as I get more familiar with the Speed 400 🤘
Enjoy the happy clown on her new little bike 🤡❤️

Thanks Pam. Your laugh is so infectious. Love Beardie.
aw, love ya Beardie. I miss your laugh in person too
I have always been a Triumph fan!
They are lovely bikes! I really loved my Bonneville too. This one is fun!!
Congratulations! Triumphs are great bikes. Between my wife and I, we own 3: 2014 1200cc Explorer, 2013 Bonneville, and 2017 Tiger 800. All of them are fun to ride.
Those are all GREAT bikes! Sounds like you have a good looking garage every time you open the door. 🤘
I kept my BV 400 and recently bought the Speed. I love it! Congratulations!
aha! both very fun bikes! I rode my buddy's BV400 and it has a lotta oomph!
@@VROOMGOPAM it's my long haul bike. We did LA to Pismo Beach via Ojai/Santa Barbara. So comfortable and luggage. The Speed has zero luggage. I got a messenger bag from Trip Machine in India and it's working so far. Enjoy the Triumph!
@@NoFrictionZone Oh that's fantastic about the BV being the long distance bike. I might get the Triumph tail rack for the Speed 400 -- for now I strapped a small tail bag to the pillion part of the seat! I shoved my kogi burritos in the tail bag to bring 'em home today. So at least I have a little something something of a tail bag on the Triumph Speed 400 for now
Hey Pam! I have the 400 X. I also bought it without a test ride, just on faith took It home. I hope you enjoy it and it scratches that lightweight hooligan itch. I had the same idea except I also wanted something for gravel roads and light adventure. Of course then I had my wreck on it... In your research not sure you saw my ride video but here it is for fun n stuff
Oh I didn't realize the 400 X was the one you wiped out on . I'll check out your video, somehow I missed seeing it. You and I share the lightweight hooligan itches my friend!!! Heal up and we'll hooligan again together. And maybe I'll even cook you another scooter cannonball floorboard burger
🤡❤
Iconic. Great lines and super paint in the blue.
I agree - and the blue one is so pretty!! The color POPS!!!
Ha forgot what mine looked like without the windshield. I have the black one love mine can’t wait for it to get the breakin unlocked and see what it can do.
nice!! I may or may not put a windscreen on it. After riding yesterday on the freeway again, I was thinking I probably want a windscreen. And same here - curious to see how much top oomph the little bike's got 🤘
I went with the Dart Marlin from the UK. Solid! $134.00
@@NoFrictionZone cool on the recommend windscreen - I'm still mulling it over 😀
Congrats on the motorcycle
a wheeeeeee thanks!
Awesome bike! That’s too bad they didn’t let you test ride. I thought Triumph was all about doing that as long as you ask ahead of time, but who knows.
Maybe if Triumph was doing a demo tour? But the dealers that got them - didn't want to have a demo of this brand new bike. They wanted them all at 0 or 1 mile on the odo for new owners. And to make that full price sale. But this risk I took paid off. The bike is FUN !!!
I really want one, but am weary about getting the 1st run of a brand new model. I hope it's trouble-free for you. 🙂
@@Gimpthulhu I hear ya. I usually avoid 1st gen models too. But I had a loved one diagnosed with terminal cancer so I just pulled the trigger and bought it. I decided life is short so buy another motorcycle now 😀I’ll keep you & my channel posted on the Speed 400 !!
@@VROOMGOPAM I'll add you and your loved one to ny prayers.
Rubber side down, friend.
@@Gimpthulhu thank you I appreciate it. And my best to you too & to keep the rubber side down. Ride on!
cool lil ride ya got there! 😍🤡
🤘❤🔥thanks I'm digging it !!! Wahoo!
Thats the exact bike and color i want!! But every dealer I look at is charging $1000 to $1500 on top of the $5000 MSRP
I hear ya. And yeah, the dealer mark up by $1000 - $1500 seems to be the way things have been going for awhile now. I think they need to = to stay in business? It's a tough new bike market out there for buyers for sure. Gotta think of it as bail money on top of the price i guess
@@VROOMGOPAM i guess so, ive only purchased used in the past so im not used to these extra fees. Its as bad as buying a car nowadays
@@jeremylaws7010 it is brutal on the wallet !! I try to buy used bikes too. I was impatient though when it came to getting an ADV 160 and the Speed 400 😀
Nice
Vespa GTS weighs 330 lbs, so your Triumph is very light
aha! Very close indeed. I love the light flickable feel of this moto
What happened to the R9T?
I LOVED my R Nine T - but--- I sold it to buy the sport touring BMW R1200RT -- and now I'm considering a different touring bike altogether. The Speed 400 does not replace my R9t lol. It won't be a touring bike for me. It will be an LA city street battle bike 🤪
Oh, and I was going to make a video about that....but never had the time. I actually bought the BMW R1200GSA for long distance touring and had that for a couple of months --- but then realized I really wanted the sporty feel of the RT. And Now I'm questioning another bike.......
@@VROOMGOPAM you think about the new R12? You can get it with a big old touring screen. It’s expensive, though. That 400 looks dope, though. Looks like a good city/commuter bike, cheap on gas too, I bet. I live in the hood so might see you around.
@@mikeandmona6584 well if you were in downtown LA today you might have seen me pick up short rib burritos from the Kogi Truck on the Speed 400= YUM !! And thanks for reminding me about the R12, I haven't seen them in person yet. I should check those out. I'm considering a used R1200R - since I think it might be more upright seating and you can add a windscreen and luggage for touring. But we'll see......
If you can dodge flying trash you can dodge a ball!
@@veriest1 oh man, dodgeball was my beloved sport for years. But after a dodgeball missed catch attempt broken pinky & a successful ball block but it tore my thumb ligament well…I had to give up the sport. Couldn’t risk another hand injury / cast on my arm that keeps me from riding for months. But damn do I miss it!!
@@VROOMGOPAM We played in high school a lot. They'd add a no mans land in the middle after some amount of time. That let me sneak behind enemy lines and tag people from behind. Tons of fun.
Love it!!!!
