hmm... hmm... i found my wife in the line age2 . we dated for ten years and now we've been married for another 7 years. i immigrated to her country and we're about to have a baby. and our story of how we met starts with "one day, i, a beautiful elf, met this dwarf..."
made one friend on tumblr and they brought me in like a puppy in a cardboard box while it was raining and introduced me to their friends. after a few years i managed to zero in on the most painfully shy and awkward friend and the transition from best friends to partners to spouses was fast but so natural. we've been married for almost 5 years now! all because i was brave enough to reach out and make 1 friend with someone i thought was super cool. life is so wild!
Different era of MMOs tbh. They used to be a LOT more about hanging out and actually TALKING, rather than having ingame auction houses and systems that auto-place you in dungeon queues
Its not that hard to meet people online. I found a lot of friends online that I later met IRL. I have a gaming group that I'm playing games with for 15 years, never met these guys but we game together nearly every weekend. My experiences with meeting people from the internet were never bad. Like at the Kson fan meeting, it was awesome meeting so many other people despite the language barrier.
it's hard when you don't play any online game. and even if you do, if you have no social "level" you can't as well. Like i played WoW for a moment, even have a guild and do meeting IRL and i was never close to someone enough x)
Agreed. And it's weird, while I don't have "no social skill", I kinda hate talking to people in real life, but I was able to talk a lot more in WoW and other social networks. And I found my GF on WoW, too. The thing is... not having a face to them isn't always a disadvantage, because you actually see your chemistry BEFORE their appearances. It's easier both if you're not conventionally attractive or if you're conventionally attractive but worried that people only like you for your looks, and you already know you click by the time you see each other's faces.
The problem with online friends is that you don't get a lot of irl interaction with them and I feel like that prevents people from doing that in the first place
What boggles my smooth brain is that someone decided; "Hey, i like talking to this person over the Mic in this game. I want to know this person a little more." How does that work?? It's stressful to decide to send a friend request because they make a good team synergy, but it's hell if they question you why you did that.
I'd never have a kid, but if I did they wouldn't be allowed to play anything M rated till they were 15 or 16. I would also work way harder than anyone else to keep them from seeing p0rn of any kind. I started watching p0rn at 11 years old and it messed me up real bad for life. I don't blame anyone, my parents tried to stop me. No one should be looking at it that young.
I'd say I'm the same as Henya but I know I'm not a sociable person, even in video games (I usually gravitate to single-player games) and that's fine. Not everyone can be outgoing and meet new people.
Its normal Henya. Alot of people who are lonely do date on net games. Its pretty common. You hit the space bar to type a message. Its not hard. What was a challenge was typing a message in a game like PSO/PSU during combat. 😂
The seething over how cute a couple is and that it’s something she’ll never have is giving me Deja vu. Maybe I’m remembering a past life?

People out here getting married through video games and I can't even have a female friend let alone girlfriend
i've seen a few frequent twitter users find love over twitter. if people can find love on the hellsite, anything is possible.
The "THAT'S CUTE!" tho...

I thought "getting married through video games" means marrying game character. What hell was I even thinking.

That's the thing, the one who succeed don't overthink it.. they just do it

I mean it's possible if you have the same interest
