ACE SPEC cards were by far one of my favorite gameplay additions to the game. Having one item card with a game-breaking effect, but only being allowed one was a neat strategic choice. I really wish that Pokémon had continued producing (and reprinting the best ones) in later sets.
This is the point where I really got into the Pokemon TCG. I remember getting the theme decks of this set, and playing with my dad for hours afterward. Thanks a lot, Wossy, this really makes memories resurface.
My friend had that Golurk in high school. It wasn't sleeved but it was somewhat cool at the time (he always had better pull luck than me). Good God the amount of Blastoise Keldeo i would play on ptcgo until I moved and lost the email to the account was insane, absolutely one of my favourite cards in the game. I would but a lot of this set as a kid, never got comp search, but I did get the absolutely stunning full art Cresellia who was immediately put in a binder sleeve and later sadly wouldn't be taken with me to my new house because (child moment). It was really a card that cemented that the tcg full arts were incredible, I still remember trying to sketch it (not using paper above the card of course) it truly is a damn shame its in an unreachable location. The only other hit I would pull physically would be the Black Kyurem who as we all know, isn't plasma storm Kyurem. Not quite as memorable for me as Next destinies - dragons exalted but still the best is yet to come. I also still hate we cannot use base set Comp over the ace spec, because screw shilling out money for a fancy border, deck checks do exist for this reason.
I really think I missed out, not playing in this set. It looks amazing! I picked up the Rayquaza and Keldeo battle decks, but they only go so far. Thanks need to make more from this era to spice up the variety.
Dowsing Machine was a better Ace Spec. Computer Search is better early game, but I've found Dowsing Machine to be more of a game winner late game due to having access to a 5th trainer card. However, you are right that Computer Search was the clear cut best card to run in that set.
I was still playing a lot of Empoleon/Terrakion at this point. It was such a good deck against the demon king Darkrai that was the most dominant deck at the time. I distinctly did NOT like the Empoleon/Dusknoir lists at all. It was way too slow and inconsistent. And generally it was hard to fit Terrakion into that list, taking away your edge against Darkrai. Sometimes I ran Landorus EX in my builds. But I was mixed on it. Part of Empoleon/Terrakion's strength was the lack of 2 prize Pokemon. But Lando was just SO GOOD against Eels decks. I played a decent bit of Keldeo EX/Blastoise too. But that deck got shut down hard by Mewtwo EX and if Blastoise got gusted and killed, the deck just shut off. Keldeo without Blastoise is worthless as an attacker. And did they change the ruling on Computer Search? I could have sworn we were allowed to play the base set card for a while. But maybe that's just what my local league decided.
Base set Computer Search can be used, but because of major text change, it has to be played as an Ace Spec card. So you can only include one Computer Search and no more.
As a yugioh player, holy shit the amount of draw power in the pokemon tcg is so absurd I laugh my ass off anytime I see that shit. The pokemon tcg seems pretty cool tho and this is a neat way to learn it's history. Good video/10

One of my favourite Black and White sets!
I got a white kyurem box and pulled computer search when I was 11, and I’ve still got it, somehow in great condition

15:14 the fact that we got things like Strong Energy and Fighting Stadium makes it even bettef
My 1st ever secret rare was the rocky helmet from this set so its kind of nostalgic for me
This makes me quite nostalgic. Blastoise Keldeo was the first constructed deck i owned.
Two blastoise decks and two keledo tins and you could enter a tournament. You just didn’t have beach
@@MazterP28 Exactly what I did haha, didn't know about where to buy singles at the time, so I basically had to play with what I opened.

Finally caught up in the history of the Pokémon tcg series. I’m excited for the plasma sets
I wish I was playing back then. I love watching these history videos and seeing stage 2s being viable!
Team Plasma sets next? Aww baby
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)
Jsi borec. Mám moc rád tvoji tvorbu.
Incredible content from this series as always

Keldeo Ex was such a good low budget deck.
2 Keldeo Ex boxes + 2 Black Kyurem Structure deck and you where rolling
till we found out the deck needed tropical beach lol
Ayyy I still have my Keldeo EX deck!
Keldeo is my favorite pokemon...
Opened 100+ packs of this in PTCGO looking for computer search, still no luck :(
Best part of the week!
Ah yes landerous, the card that thought me the importance of numbers

Great historic sir!
I wish ace specks would a come back
Hey wossy how come the videos after pt50 aren't in the playlist? It makes it very hard to find them

Magic is the same way. You gotta work for it to draw cards in magic but Pokémon is like “lmao draw 12 I don’t care.”
Good afternoon!
Is unbroken bonds or cosmic eclipse getting reprinted?
Rock guard is the best
i wasnt a fan of bw set untill they brought in the ex cards
If this is part 54, why is there only 50 videos in the playlist?
His first few videos are in a different Playlist. This has been going on for a few years now.
@@nathanzondlo7393 part 1 is in the complete history playlist, there's 4 videos that aren't in the playlist
Ah a set I finished. I should post a video of it
How come ya don't do ptcgradio anymore?
Pretty sure you can’t rush in twice with keldeo
Ah, yes. The best set
Nah. That's Double Crisis. 😏👍
Same. It's very nostalgic for me because that's when I started collecting Pokemon cards.
Boundaries crossed has some great cards, but most of the set is filler.
