paint job looks awesome. i find it hard to paint miniatures while holding onto the base, i would suggest using a painting handle for more control and less fingers touching the model.
Just remember, as long as you are happy with how they turn out then that's all that matters. One piece of advice that I think would make your life easier is to do sub-assemblies. By glueing all the shields on at the beginning, you made it harder to access certain areas of the minis to paint. Great job though and your enthusiasm is infectious :)
@@podyproductspaintstudio Sub-assemblies save lives (well, they mostly save patience, but that can save lives!), especially on a model like Lion'El Johnson. The Lion is a seriously intricate model, and I usually look at the instructions for these models, and figure out how to best approach it to save myself time, patience and brain space by doing sub-assemblies. Also, look into some videos of how perspective can effect what you see - sometimes, some spots on the model, can be left to the oblivion of the black base coat (shouldn't even paint directly on the primer, since black primer and black paint are different). Loving your models is all that really, in the end, matters - also, remember the rule of 3 for mini-gaming: how does it look at 3ft (which is the normal distance when playing from miniatures, haha).
The only advice I will give is start learning to fade or blend now. Blending acrylics is a nightmare when you first start and then when you get good it is still a nightmare doing all the glazing. I have changed where I add a little drop of the lighter color then paint the layer then add a little more and another layer in a smaller area. This way you can’t see the transition and it seems to be quicker in my opinion. Blend is just so time consuming.
I think the Lion is my best painted model yet! What do you think?!? Isn't Lion El'Johnson one of the coolest characters ever!??
Cooking up that paint, good job 👏🏻 love the background
