This initiative of yours (to teach the basics of cooking) is applauded! I love cooking but had been making a lot of mistakes with something as simple as cutting vegetables! But 'Basic Cooking' is really helpful!
I was amaze how all of this seeds, bark trees and leaves gathered together and make a very tasteful ingredients of one recipes. No wonder your food is one of the favorites and have an excellent taste. I always search and learn recipes like you share with us. More videos please. Thank you
Very informative video and explained so simply. I liked all the tidbits you gave for each of the ingredients. Thanks for a wonderful recipe. it is simple enough for me to try at home. Cheers!
Thank you. I am new to Indian food and had a taste of Chicken Tikka some time back. As I love to cook, I became intrigued. Where I live, it's hard to find many of the spices used in this cuisine. Thankfully, we have a wonderful health food store near by which carries many of these fine spices. I hope to make my own garam masala soon. Again, thank you.
...Thank you so much for demonstrating this recipe. I'm so excited to have found it. You are very thorough in describing the aromas and history of some of the spices. I appreciate you taking the time to make and show your viewers. The recipe in the description box is well appreciated, also. Would you happen to have a recipe for carrot pudding?
Thank you so much for your very comprehensive recipe and video for the making of. Garam Masala! I enjoyedmit immensly and I was unaware of all of the varied and tantalizing cacophony of spices that comprise this delicious Masala. Could you please explain the difference between Garam Masala and Curry Powder? Is it just a different name or perhaps a different spice combination or is there something more significant in the difference? I have read somewhere that Curry Powder is just an Anglisization - I hope that I spelled that correctly - of the words Garam Masala. Is this true or is there a different explanation? Thank you for sharing your wonderful and informative video. Cheers!
Wow....mesmerising to watch it being made. Smita you used 12 different spices in your Garam masala, is there any masala which can be made with 5 to 8 spices and is not as spicy as the Garam Masala? Basically a lesser spicy masala which is lesser on 'heat'. Thanks once again.
I appreciate how you taught us how to look for impurities! I had no idea how to clean spices either or what to look for. It is much appreciated! Measurements please. Making it for the first time I need a guide line as to the quantities of each. It is hard to judge the quantity of the items based upon the containers they are in - because I really don't know the size of the containers containing the ingredients. I realize I can tweak and adjust the spices, but that's only once I know what it is suppose to taste like. I'm new to Indian cooking and have only eaten Indian food in a restaurant once. Thank-you!
Thank you so much for the recipe it will be great to make and not have to go try to find lol can I use a coffee grinder to to make the masala again thank u so much I really do appreciate the recipe
Ma'am. If you could please. Can you included the amount and/or quantity of each spice for this wonderful looking garam masala recipe? Much appreciated.
Thanks for sharing!! Could you plz tell me if you added the cardamoms, both green and black, with their skin while grinding the powder or discarded them ? I don't use the skin normally.
Great Vid. But personally I always discard the shells of the cardamoms (green and black, both) and if I am out of star anees, I put a little bit more of aniseed, at the end they smell almost the same
I couldn't find black cardamom neither mace here in my country, but i did it anyway. Btw, i couldn't reach this extremely soft powder you made. After blending and processing all the ingredients I used a strainer, however most of my masala has a tiny-thin-flake consistency. Is there a problem with that?
In Asian groceries(not chiniese) you'll find it or online.... To get it fine , you need to use the small grinder accessories for spices that comes with rhe grinder
Would luv to make this garam masala.....provided measurements are given....or you should have mentioned the measurements while dry roasting them....please give asap
Wow... I really admire the way you explain each recipe Mam... Friends all measurements are the actual description section and one cup is 250Ml cups which we get... for detailed measurements u can Google it and check as each provision has its own measuring quantity with same cup...

Kindly note, These are not 'Annie Seeds'. They're 'Fennel Seeds'. :)
I think she was saying anise seeds
Sumangala Purohith §$
Kindly not, she said and meant Anise seeds, not fennel seeds. Anise and Fennel look alike, but are different.
we use fennel in the Garam masal,
Aniseed
haa I never knew that nutmeg might have worms in it.. thank Allah I never used it bfr.. but if I use I'll be careful thanks for sharing .💙💙💙
