    God please continue to Bless Country music. We have lost so many great singers and a lot of the newer stars are borderline country/easy rock. Don't let them cross over.

    The list of stars is long that played on that stage in the house to name. So the best is R.I.P. TO ALL AND THE MUSIC THEY HAD FOR US. God bless them all.

    I believe that country legends like Porter Wagoner, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, The Kendalls, Mother Baybelle Carter, Johnny Cash and many others, are unlikely to appear any time soon, until then we need to keep all of these people in our hearts and minds !

    NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
    The building that we know today as the Ryman Auditorium actually opened in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle. It was the work of a man named Captain Tom Ryman, a steamboat captain and hellraiser who was known for his hard drinking and carousing on the Cumberland, Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.

    Back on 23 April 2005, I was so priviledge to stand on this very stage and sang two songs Little Brown Church and Going Up Home To Green Pastures. Sitting on the bench looking at the stage with a volunteer there, it was such a welcoming feeling. I miss so many singers that have once walked this Stage. I am so happy for those who have or about to walk the stage of this wonderful Stage at the Ryman. Best Wishes LittleCountryDJ

    I find it totally awesome that on Porter Waggoner's show, the great Tex Ritter mentioned Porter's name in the song "Hillbilly Heaven," and Porter returned the favor thirty years later, with this song. Rest in peace Porter!
    I'm also saddened by knowing the fact that most of the people featured in this video are no longer with us.

      @@joshuabrooks4907 from what I remember being told, This song was written for Minnie Pearl and Roy Accuff (could be wrong on him) to sing. One of them was sick at the time and Ronnie gave the song to Porter. Ronnie knew all the greats .He was friends with Minnie and Roy from their appearances on Hee Haw where he was a cameraman. He then was filming most of the shows from the new opry house and traveled with Willie to film the LIVE AID concerts.

      I believe the lady in the dress was Barbara mandrell.
      Also, the first guy in the montage at the end of the video is Roy Acuff.

    • @barbarawilkes4365
      @barbarawilkes4365 2 роки тому

      @@joshuabrooks4907 Mandrell wasn't in it. You're probably mentioning Connie Smith who was following Hank Snow then Connie then Grandpa Jones. Guessing video made in early 1990's perhaps little earlier. Based on deaths of some, also outfits that some wore in early to mid '90s.

    • @barbarawilkes4365

    One day, however, Captain Ryman found God and after hearing an evangelist speak, decided to give up his old ways and soon banned liquor and gambling on his steamboats and closed down a tavern that he owned in Nashville. He also began a project that would be dedicated solely to religious revivals and activities.

    Apart from Patsy Cline and Minnie Pearl, he just talks about men. Where is Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette in this history of Grand Ol opry?

    • @rhaldneysantana9913
      @rhaldneysantana9913 3 роки тому

      But Porter Wagoner was honoring the singers who have passed away. and I think Patsy Cline was the first country singer to pass away. and Loretta Lynn, Minnie Pearl and Tammy Wynette were alive in those times. I mean, later on, Tammy and Minnie passed away, but Loretta is still alive today. You understood?
