An Inward Looking Brick House in Mangaluru Is Rooted In Client's Ancestral Heritage (Home Tour).

A corner plot, nestled between neighbouring buildings, the brick house stands out amongst the urban network due to this identity and the individual characteristic. Deriving some of its qualities from a "Thotti Mane" (Courtyard House) the varied courts are intercepted in multiple levels and volumes.

The varied skylights at different levels, double and triple-height openings, voluminous spaces, the play of textures and wall applications are some key highlights of the project. The Principal Architect takes us through this abstract home built during the Covid times and how he strategically planned the different spaces with a brick facade as the highlighting feature.

There are just very, very quick, abrupt, small videos and still pictures of the house and by all the time showing inside in a very dark shadow gives feeling of gloominess. The design is also not that impressive. I feel sorry to put it this way but that is what I feel.
