I love this video because it was real! We don´t want perfection, we want what we all have chaos when we repot 🤣 You were born to be on UA-cam! Love your videos so much!
Exactly!! And thank youuuuuu hehe I really don't know how other UA-camrs make it look so systematic and effortless, because that's definitely not the case for me most of the time haha
Yay! I always appreciated it when someone had a products mentioned section, so I made sure to include one! And I felt like I rambled on for quite a bit so I was hoping that having the time stamps would help people navigate if they needed to 😅
Over from the crazy plant guy! I’ve learnt so much in the last few days from your videos and I will be doing further research to better my understanding of my plants and their needs. I love all your videos wish there were more!! You’re very easy to listen to, your voice is so soothing and you collection and setup is to die for 💚 please come back to UA-cam 🥺💚
Thank you! The moss trick has been such a game changer when I first realized I could use it for plant sitters! Now I don't worry at all when I need to have someone else care for my plants for me. And I'm glad you appreciated the realistic-ness of the video! Lots of chaos behind the scenes though, but that's just the way it is I guess haha!
Don’t change a thing! These things happen to all plant people & it’s great to see how you handle things for people who don’t know! I’ve been loving your videos! Keep going. the UA-cam world is so glad to have more videos to watch! You are beautiful btw! 💚💚💚
You're so right, I wanna be as real as possible because I am FAR from perfect, and sometimes my plants are far from perfect, too! 🤣 And thank you so much!!! I feel so self conscious sometimes about the way I look, and especially now that I am filming myself, so your compliment really made my day 🥰 Thank you again!
This is the most real repot with me on UA-cam and I love it! ❤️ Your videos have such great quality and are so relaxing to watch! 🥰 I don't think I have every repotted plants without making some kind of mess, whether it's snapping a leaf or spilling some soil. 😂 If you'd be willing to share it would be really interesting to know how you are making your videos and how you got into it. Eg. how did you learn to edit, what software and camera are you using, any tips for starting on UA-cam... Obv this is completely up to you but I personally always find this really interesting and gives even more appreciation for the videos knowing all the work that goes on behind the scenes. ❤️
Thank you!! I’m glad you found this relaxing to watch despite the chaos! I think most of the chaos was behind the scenes though haha! I’m actually very new to UA-cam and VERY new to video editing!! I’ve never edited a long video in my life prior to this, and I’m not sure Instagram reels count 😅 I didn’t want to invest too much into my equipment right away since my channel is so new, but I’m actually just filming on my iPhone 13. My mic is a Shure MV88+ plugged into my phone, and my editing software is Final Cut Pro that I learned on the fly while I was editing my first video (houseplant tour)!! I feel like there are still a lot of things I’d like to improve upon, though, like equalizing my audio, and I’m thinking of getting a lapel mic instead so that the voice audio stays consistent… I’m definitely still learning! 😆
I love your style of making videos☺️ feels really relaxing and comfortable to watch. I love watching plant youtubers like you because I can sense that you have a good amount of experience and knowledge as well as being open and eager to experiment and try new things🤗 I can relate to that stage in the plant hobby and that makes me so happy to be able to watch a youtuber like that!❤️ I loved the repotting and answering questions😂 it was chaotic but so relateable! This happens to all of us but we dont film it so noone will know🤷🏻♀️😂 but when it happens to you I feel better that not only I am so clumsy sometimes. Also the point about spending too much money on a plant was kind of good to hear… I had some guilt in that aspect aswell and am really trying to stick to my new limit and am doing good at that.🤗 Its nice to hear that others have gone through similiar stuff. Looking forward to your next video❤️❤️
Thank you!! I’ve definitely made my fair share of mistakes (and I still do!) as I continue to grow in this hobby. It’s all part of the fun though! I wanna be as transparent as possible and just staying true to myself and showing you guys my ups and downs, lol! As for the spending, hearing myself talk about it has me reevaluating my life choices 😂 I gotta step on the brakes for a bit and just enjoy the plants I have right now to save some money 😂
I think this is normal amount of chaotic energy when having to wrangle plants 😂 thanks for answering those questions! I single handedly learn sooo much from just you and your content
Hahahahhahaah there's always so much chaos behind the scenes, and maybe some plant casualties too... 🫣 I'm hoping to strike a balance between sharing info on this channel and sharing info on my IG stories! But you might notice a few concepts being repeated across both platforms initially. Hehe anyway thank you so much for watching! 🥰
Thank you very much!! 🥹 Haha I'm glad you enjoyed it, I told myself to just have fun and keep it real when I started this channel, and that's what I'm going to continue to do! 😎
I just found your channel! I have to say, I love the realness about you, so don’t worry about anything you may think is a “fail.” I’ve been watching your videos since this morning and can’t wait to see more of your content. 😊 I love that your plants are acclimated to just normal indoor temps and humidity as well, I can see they’re doing well and puts me at a peace of mind about my plants!🥰 Happy to say I’ve subscribed!
welcome to my channel!! I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying my videos so far; I have really enjoyed making them and sharing my plants in this new platform! Hehe, I just think plants should be out in the open for us to enjoy, and not hidden away in a tent 😆 it's a bit scary moving them into RH at first but it's totally doable, I believe in you 😉 Thank you so much for subbing! 🥰
I stumbled onto your channel and I must say I am liking your content so far!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 I don’t see chaos here rather “real” life. Very relatable content! Also, girl let me say I LOVE your plants. They are so immaculate 🥰. What look at mess to you is perfection that others desire 😉. But I can relate to that too because I love for my plants to have zero to minimal imperfections. But a reminder just like us they have a story to tell with their scares. So you will always remember that scare (once healed) from your sodiroi was from your first ever UA-cam repot with me video 😉
Hahaha so true, now I have memories! It's always a humbling experience when I go to a conservatory and see all the plants that are thriving, despite their natural imperfections and mechanical damage. They're still beautiful and thriving despite all of that, so a small blemish here and there on my plants don't bother me.... too much hehe As much as possible, having perfect leaves is still preferable, but I won't beat myself up over a few imperfections hehe Thank you so much for watching!! I'm so glad you're enjoying my channel so far!
I definitely do the same with my soil, screw miracle grow. Bug infested, got root mealies one time from using it. Lol I don’t do the systemic every time because too much can cause resistance I’ve learned. Plus, it doesn’t work for mites. As much as I wish it did! Haha I feel like you being real is important! We all make mistakes while we are growing and you are just being authentic and vulnerable! I’ve broke off one too many healthy roots while repotting. Haha Loved the video! ❤️
OMG root mealies yuck!! I have yet to encounter them *knocks on wood* yeah I only use systemic when repotting and if I know it's been a while since my last application of it! It not only doesn't work on mites, it can actually cause them to multiply even faster 💀
Haha! It seems to be doing all right so far! I might cut it up a bit instead of having it as a long vine though, that method is usually more successful for SOH props. And thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Oh my heart dropped when your SOH broke.. my "Strings of" are not living up to all the hype. I am enjoying your channel. I hope your string roots up and gives you a stunning plant. Im in Toronto and order alot from Crystal Star Nursery but when it starts getting cold I use a local delivery service. I am also NOT a spider fan but they do eat the pests 👍🌿
I just got some ferns from CSN!! They have such a unique selection, I am jealous you live close! I ended up finding the spider afterwards and I....squished it 🙃 (sorry spider lovers!!) I know they eat pests but I just really can't stand them 🥲
Please continue to make repotting videos. It is totally okay if everything doesnt go to plan, it makes it interesting and is a good representation of what happens "in real life" anyways. Practice makes improvement, keep going, you've got this !
I really want someone to make tall and narrow clear pots, kinda like plastic beer cups but more sturdy, I am having a similar issue with my poles wanting to tip over, A LOT.

My heart sank for you when the bulb disconnected on the VSOH😩😩 I’ve totally done that before, well with accidently breaking stems when I’m trying to propagate 🥺. Loved this video🪴💚
My heart definitely sank!! I was in disbelief 🥲 Hopefully I can get it to root and maybe the big potato will sprout a new strand for me... I'm staying hopeful 😅
I disagree with you, this video was not a fail at all, I think it was amazing! I hate repotting trailing plants so it's nice to know I'm not the only one that struggles 🤦♀️I really enjoyed this so thank you and keep up the great work!!!
I absolutely DREAD repotting my trailers!!! It's so nerve wracking, worrying if I might end up with a tangled mess or just breaking everything instead lol! And thank you!!
I'm glad you liked it! There was so much chaos behind the scenes, it didn't feel very soothing in real life but i'm glad the chaos didn't really show through in the video haha!
Hello! I have bark and coco chips added to my mix, but as an amendment and not as the sole media. If you're wondering if the moss trick can be used with just plain bark/coco chips media, I personally haven't tried it but I think it should work since the concept and mechanism of action is the same (moss wicking up moisture from the substrate). I've only ever used this trick for plants in aroid mix as well as those in semi hydro such as pon/perlite/leca 😊
Hahaha right??? Same!! It's always so messy, the cleanup sometimes takes just as long as the actual repotting! 😂 you're definitely not the only one who makes a mess lol
We got them from Costco a couple years ago! It's actually 2 shelves that I just positioned side by side to give the illusion of an XL ladder shelf. We used them as regular bookshelves for the longest time, then we moved into this new house and they didn't work for the new space... but then I needed a place to keep my plants instead of my greenhouses, so I ended up repurposing the shelves for that! It was meant to be temporary but ended up staying 🤣
Hahaha! I really should start collecting rain water, too, but there are so many mosquitoes where I am, it would gross me out so much if they started breeding there!! I guess I could use mosquito dunks but still..... 🤢 for now I'll just have to settle for distilled water... hopefully we can have an RO system installed one day! 🤞🏻
@@HerPlantStories an RO system would be a dreeaam yesyes, the way I run back from the barrel swatting them away is definitely a sight to see 😂and I even use dunks!!
Great video. Did you mention the name of your distilled water machine. I have been looking for one and some of the reviews you cannot tell if the machine is actually bad or if it’s user error. If you don’t mind mentioning the brand name of your distilled water machine?
What material were you talking about that you can use to make a potting mat? I've put a snap button kit in my cart, but wasnt sure about the other material..loving your channel!💚
Thank you! The other material I was talking about are non-adhesive drawer liners like this one: amzn.to/3R3fYHC I linked one on Amazon but I think it might be cheaper to buy one roll at your local hardware store or dollar store! 😄
Thanks! They are Grow Thiccly poles! www.thiccly.com/shop I personally prefer the Standard Grow Pole or the Grow Pole 2.0! They have the same diameter and are backward compatible so you can use either one to extend the other!

Nice! The first part when you snap the string from the ‘stupid potato’ is hilarious 🤣.
ahahahhahahahaha the potato betrayed me!!!
Lots of great information! Love your spagnum moss hack for plant sitters!! Love your videos. Very fun & relaxing. Not chaotic at all, just realistic.

A very impressive small move, tie your hair before starting working. Look is important, but functionality is more important. Happy to see that.
