Mansa Musa is a highly respected 14th century Muslim figure and the king of the Mali Empire. He is considered to be the wealthiest person to ever live (and of course the wealthiest during his time). He had a bunch of gold, estimated to around $400 billion today. He actually ended up giving a lot of it away, to the point where inflation rates skyrocketed and he crashed the economy. So what did he do? He bought the gold he gave away back with interest to bring the economy back and that's how he became even richer. That's the basic gist on Mansa Musa.
Mansa Musa is also known for when he went on hajj (Hajj is a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all who are capable of undertaking the journey to Mecca), which he used as sort of a way to advertise to the Islamic world Mali's existence as a Islamic kingdom. During his hajj he gave away a lot of gold and was a bit of a spectacle due to the size of his entourage (comprised of some 60,000 people and an immeasurable amount of gold). His luxurious spending and gift giving was so extensive that he diluted the value of gold by 10 to 25 percent and impacted Cairo’s economy for at least 12 years afterward. This hajj also encouraged trans-Saharan trade with other Islamic countries, and when he returned he commissioned two enormous mosques in Timbuktu and Gao (the two major cities of Mali) and promoted his subjects’ immersion in scholarship and the arts and the spread of Islam in West Africa.
Scru obviously had a very large role in writing his verses, this was very very much in scru's particular style of rap. Infact it sounds a lot more real than most ERB's do, as you basically have two dudes that are just reading scripts in a comedic way. When you get a real rapper in the hot seat, it sounded much more authentic than it usually does. With his history as a battle rapper this was an absolute breeze for him.

5:40 @Cliff Beats Technically that fact is incorrect, Mansa Musa famously refused to bow to the king of Cairo saying "The only being i will ever bow to is Allah" and forced the King of Cairo to welcome him as an equal or not welcome him at all. So does that get double minus points? or just one minus for getting the fact wrong? Because that line makes it actually seem like he doesnt know the story.

I've got Mansa Musa on this one. A ton of hard bars from Bezos but a few really really cheesy ones that just fall flat. Mansa's hit hard or hit harder every time. Although Peter and Lloyd are good rappers, very different flavors of rappers make for really spicy heavy hitter bars in ERB...
Allah mode was a dope bar. A la mode as in serving him up, and Allah mode aka God Mode. Scru killed it! Great reaction Cliff!
A la mode means topped off w/ ice cream. So he’s saying he’s putting bezoar on ice, another metaphor for killing someone as well, with wordplay
that and three lines before that building up to the Allah Mode line
