  • XPPen's Artist 12 2nd Gen is an impressive display tablet for a digital art beginner on a tight budget. It's a bit on the small side as far as devices like this go, but that makes it very portable and ideal for smaller setups or digital painting on the go.
    The Artist 12 2nd Gen is currently going for $200 as part of the Black Friday promo, and it packs a punch for a fairly cheap tablet.
    Get it from XPPEN's site here: shrsl.com/3su24

    Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the Artist 12 2nd gen and it's good to see that XPPen has released a few different sizes of this.

      @@EyekooDrawsStuff A question, does the colour accurate? I heard that your phone colour is actually like the real colour that you would see? (sorry for my English haha) I'm planning to buy this for my degree in Animation course.

    • @EyekooDrawsStuff
      @EyekooDrawsStuff  Рік тому

      @@changbinmybeloved it's more accurate than my laptop screen, that's for sure. And it is quite an improvement from older models. In terms of colour gamut, You can expect about 89-90% NTSC, 99% sRGB

    I am looking for a Drawing Pad for my Son, he is 9 and very tech savvy, but I do not know what to buy for his age. I have been looking into this XPen but it is unclear to me, does it only work if you have illustrator on your mac?

      Hi there. You can use it on Mac or Windows, and is compatible with a wide range of software. Krita, Clip Studio Paint, Magma, Blender, Medbang, etc.

    I am currently wondering between the artist 12 first gen and second gen and which to buy?

      Also do the chiseled felt pen nibs usable on the P06 stylus

      I would go with the 2nd Gen for the improved display, pen tech, and tilt functionality. I might be tempted to go with the Artist 13 Pro for that slightly bigger drawing area without too much compromise in specs if the price is much the same.

      The felt pen nibs on the XPPEN website apparently are fine with the Artist 12 (1st and 2nd gen) so should fit the stylus without any issue. www.storexppen.com/buy/309.html

    I saw your other video on how to turn ur iPad into a drawing tablet. I'm torn between buying XPPEN's Artist 13 2nd Gen and an Ipad+apple pencil. Please, what do you recommend?

    • @EyekooDrawsStuff
      @EyekooDrawsStuff  Рік тому +3

      Thanks for the comment. Hm, well it depends on what is more important to you. If you want the portability where the iPad lets you draw anywhere, anytime, and easily without really needing to set anything up, then I'd go with that. The benefit is that you can use it for much more than drawing as well.
      But if most of your time is going to be at your desk in front of the computer, drawing there and using desktop software, then for the same price as the iPad and apple pencil, you could get a dedicated pen display with much more screen space to draw on.
      A bit of a difficult decision to make.

    I can’t get the shortcut keys to work and can’t zoom in and out. Anyone got any ideas?

      Did you download the driver from the XPPen website? Also check that you have right keyboard shortcut assigned for those functions in the app you're using.

    What's the use of pen's side buttons?

    • @EyekooDrawsStuff
      @EyekooDrawsStuff  9 місяців тому

      Hi. So, you can program to different shortcuts for your software.
      For example, because you're using the pen instead of the mouse, you might want the buttons to action a right-click, or middle-mouse button click if you're using Blender.
      I set my front one to my eyedropper tool (Alt or I) for quick colour switching. The back one will either be for right clicks, or to switch between my foreground and background colour choices (X hotekey in Photoshop).

    I know this video is so old but i have a question. I have a macbook air that doesn't have the hdmi input and i have been trying for hours to connect it but it keeps telling me that i have no signal, will it work if i connected it with a hdmi adapter? I don't want to think that i wasted all my money for nothing jdjfjfj

      Hi there. Ah, so as I understand it, you're going to need the USB-C to USB-C cable that XPPEN offers on their store. I've seen others mention that it has to be their branded cable for this to work.
      If you want to try the adapter approach, I'm not too sure. It's worth checking this on Reddit as I'm sure quite a few others have had the same issue.
      But I think your easiest move is to get the branded XPPEN usb-c to usb-c cable
