no smell doesn't mean its less toxic then other resins, they could be just using a masking agent to reduce the smell. Always wear a vapour filter mask when working with resin printers and in a well ventilated area.
I know this is an old video but it is my first time trying the resin. According to the MSDS sheet this resin should be fine to use in a well ventilated room without any sort of protection. The only thing it does warn about is the resin in aerosol form or at very high temperatures since when burning the resin does decay.
I like your reviews, but man, you’ve got to focus your camera on these prints. I can’t see any detail or print lines on these things. The Davey Jones vs Dragon... the dragon's head is a complete blur. How about just taking stills and cropping nice and close? Actually the more I look, you’re doing that extreme DOF which is pretty much the opposite of what you should be doing for photographing example prints. You need as much to be in focus as possible. :)
@@Renzsu Yep, though there are two problems in these shots. Shots of Jessy are actually focused on the background not the person. That's just sloppy, but the problem might be as simple as getting behind the camera, setting focus manually and stopping the lens down a bit to account for movement of the subject. Then leave the focus locked the whole shot. But the close ups, looks like the lens is focused on the object but wide open giving super shallow depth of field. Set the lens not to f/1.8 or f/2 but rather to something like f/8, f/11 or even higher. Also makes focusing EASIER more forgiving because you don't have to be spot on. Great content but yeah, you need to learn to focus the camera!
It doesn't have a strong odor?!? I'm new to 3D printing and Siraya Fast Grey is the first and only resin I've used. This stuff makes the room smell like a Terminator's taint! I can only imagine what other resins smell like...
Anycubic doing a biodegradable resin which they are claiming is very low odour. Might be interesting. Also would love to see you do an airbrush video of the dragon. Looks amazing
I kind of feel like how I did when I bought a 2.85mm printer and later realized the hobby clearly favors 1.75mm. I have the Peopoly Moai which uses a UV laser and the hobby (thus the resin options) clearly seem to favor the LCD path and there's not always a clear idea if you can adjust the laser power and have it work just as good.
I'm confused. I've used Anycubic grey and Elegoo green so far and recently tried this resin. This resin is by far the stinkiest of the three. Washing this stuff almost makes me gag lol.
Yeah that's the problem when manufacturers "supply" products to curtain people. I'm a big Siraya Tech fan but I agree with many comments about this stuff absolutely stinking!! I'm sure he'll review a competitors product and say that doesn't stink either and other are stinkier.
Could you please do a few test prints of the same model(s) on the elegoo mars using both this resin and the elegoo resin? It would be nice to see a side by side print quality comparison test using the exact same model with the two resins. Thanks!
That little bit of flex sounds like a good thing to have when printing things that are going to be messed with or if a part needs only a bit of flex like a snap catch.
Can you do a video on your maintenance clean up? Such as the Ultrasonic cleaner, where. Do you scrub it with something when you dump the IPA? What do you do with the IPA? Do you use anything other than IPA in it? If so, what do you do with that when you swap out cleaner/solvents in it?
Question - how well does it take paint? Maybe without primer? Would love it to be a resin that is paint-able in as printed form. The grey/stone color certainly looks like it may be good for terrain with some minimal washing and dry brushing.
Hey Uncle Jessy, you're one of the reasons I got one of these Elegoo machines. Been having a lot of fun with it. I'm working with a chemist to create some custom resins with it as well. So far we've created a fast cure resin that's a little more impact resistant than the standard stuff that cures at 40s for base layers and 4s per layer after that. Cool colors as well, a translucent blue and a deep violet. Next on the docket is a rubberized UV curable resin so I can make some custom buttons for electronic projects. Funny how this simple machine started some R&D work.
awesome video. Thank you for sharing. Would love to see a comparison of the Blu and Tenacious and Sculpt.. Another awesome one that will answer a lot of questions there has been circulating on the Elegoo and Siraya FB groups is sun exposure, flexibility and mixtures with other resins while still being able to last in the sun and have good flexibility.. the good old drop test. 20% Blu with 80% Elegoo gray for example.. giving it that strength for mini's that are lacking in the drop test with 100% Elegoo gray.. And the Car test , where you print a cellphone holder or bobble head and leave it in the car, with direct sun exposure, but being able to handle the heat and not get the typical PLA droop.
For the side-by-side shots I would have liked to see apples to apples comparison. Davy Jones vs Davey Jones and Bat Bust vs Bat Bust, to compare detail as well as color. Unless you think they are on par in that regard? Many thanks for sharing!
But what were the layer exposure settings for the prints? that's the most important part. I can already go as low as 6 second exposure time on my Epax with standard elegoo grey, can you go even lower that 6s exposure time with this resin? Nothing in this video really helps at all without that data
How do you feel the Fast is with details? All the photos I have seen, it seems like the details with the Fast resin seem softer and most as crisp as the Elegoo Grey.
Just ordered a liter of this due to having some serious issues with an older bottle of Elegoo black (always fails around layer 15 +/- 5 layers, always comes off the build plate... really annoying). You should do like a "top 5" resins. Has anyone compared the actual strength/rigidity/brittleness of all of these different resins yet?
Thanks for the info. Loving my Mars printer. Less stinky resin will be great. Being new to resin printing I’m curious about these prints and if they’re printed hollow? Im assuming any of the ones with much mass are. Do you add drain holes to the files before printing then?
Hey I was wondering if you could help me with this one. I'm using the siraya tech grey fast and I had some print fail. It looks like the there was a layer shift in my print. Have any suggestions?
So I've been using Siraya Fast with my Phenom since I got it. 4 weeks and haven't had any issues printing. Recently FEP sheet started getting worn so had to swap it out. Every since I have swapped it, all my prints fail. I've leveled my plate, cleaned my LCD, even added to exposure times. Still no luck. Out of curiosity, I put on an old print file I started with early on that had printed without issue. Even it failed. Do you UncleJessy, or anyone else, have any suggestions?
The focus on a lot of the shots in this video are really soft. I had to make sure it was playing back in 1080. Maybe look into a better camera and or lens.
Hey Jessy, I printed a Lithophane with elegoo White resin on the elegoo mars and it worked great but it turns a brownish color when it cures under the UV light. Could you recommend a white resin that stays white after curing? Thanks

one question about the Siraya , and resin brands in general . i want to buy my first printer and resin, i plan to use it for printing miniatures mostly, so the most important is the quality of the detail and that the resin is not too brittle, is Siraya good for this? How brittle are the other brands? Thanks!
What kind of space do you print in. Am looking into resin but am concerned about pets and elderly people in my house. Should I have a separate place to work in? I know a couple family members have issues with spray paint oder, would this be as bad
Hey man. I print in my basement in a separate space that has a window. It is no where near as strong as spray paint. I never spray paint in house... anymore. I wouldn’t print/sleep/eat in the same room haha

I live in GA and am looking to change over to resin for some of my printing, but it is a bit on the hotter than normal conditions down here. Hot is usually good. 25-30C degrees, especially with the hard and precise resins. Below 20C and prints start failing. I have mine on the balcony in a gro-tent (for growing plants under hot lights) with a fan heater and thermometer to avoid the cold fails.
