Max Richter is incredible. I wish I could hear his composition in person but he barely comes to the US. It's such a tragedy because I believe he is one of the most incredible composers of our time.
Absolute masterpiece !!! The creation and performance of such beauty can probably wash away some of humanity's sins. Thank you, Max Richter! Germany has given another great composer to humanity!
Max Richter's body of work is entirely dedicated to wash away the human soul. If you have not watched the 3 seasons of the stellar show The Leftovers, which is a masterpiece of feelings, then consider yourself blessed. Richter's musical score for this will tear your soul and stitch it back again many, many times.
Not so sure about art and wider issues but - hope springs eternal. Certainly, art of all kinds triggers a physiological response that leads to expansive feelings, it seems...dopamine?
You can see and feel the humility of the musicians coming through the screen, especially Max, the way he bows his head, and the gentle smile upon his face is inspring. Humility does nothing less than bring out the beauty of the music even more. They surrender to the sounds, and it pours out of them like a life refreshing well. This music is divine, uplifting, and so extrodinarily beautiful. Thank you, thank you, again and again.
To anybody watching this having not watched the 3 seasons of the stellar show The Leftovers, which is a masterpiece of feelings, then consider yourself blessed. Richter's musical score for this will tear your soul and stitch it back again many, many times.
As I listened to Four Seasons by Max Richter the very first time, months ago, I thought... What has he done with this music.... But I stand it.... AND after opened my heart and ear to this all I can't live without his composed Four Seasons... I MUST HEAR IT EVERY DAY.... IF JUST ONLY A FEW BARS... and ofcourse the marvelous DANIEL HOPE 💖🕊🙏🍀🪶🎻🎵🎶🎵🎶
THIS IS GENIUS! It's like listening to a series of galaxies evolving rhythmic harmonies unto the Universe itself; and grief like the depths of an ocean cannot express the losses we have collectively experienced and the brave new world emerging every day we lift our heads up in hope - there are no words; in fact, this music expresses so many things about humanity and creation and this universe that words simply cannot express - but the feelings that Max Richter evokes are both sombre, sad, melancholy as well as brilliant and new and different with every rendition performed and played and aired on UA-cam....and other radio signals where every season is expressed in a multitude of layers and musical textures - a brilliantly mastered reinterpretation of an already brilliant classic! Thank you Antonio Vivaldi and Max Richter! I hope some day some how these two geniuses will appreciate each other with a somehow spiritual meeting in person!
You're amazing, maestro Max. Honestly, your composition is what the world needs right now. It has led me to spiritual awakening and thoroughly cleansed my palate. You've restored hope for classical music.
Merci
My first true love of a classical piece remixed by my favorite contemporary composer. This piece is akin to the genius of putting peanut butter in a chocolate cup, and then making a Jumbo size!
Of all versions available this one is my favorite because it shows how a great a disciple of Yehudi Menuhin Daniel is. The recomposition is, well, how can I say it, superb. We need more of this, please.
Hermoso ❤💐🌹sr. Atentamente. Leticia. 😊🌻🌼🌞🌠
You’ll be pleased to hear Vivaldi is not really considered conventionally classical .. it was the “pop music” of its era and disliked by the musical orthodox
not all classical music is good and only a fragment is actually worth listening... now it is well know that plenty of people making hard rock listen to that part of classic worth listening to... Vivaldi, Mysliveček, Schumann Klara, some Strauss, Hyden, and I´m missing few goodones... good hunt my distant friend !!!!!!!!!!
Can't understand why this hasn't been on my radar before, as I see that it has been around for a few years. As much as I like Vivaldi and the original version, this is a welcome facelift to a well known classic and inspires all sorts of creative ideas..., particularly good for contemporary dance.! It is just being promoted on Classic FM (in UK) now, so hopefully will gain the recognition and positive reception that it deserves.
Thank you for uploading such a wonderful concert for the world to see! I truly enjoy finding new music and to hear a recomposed vivaldi is.. Something I will hold precious always. Thank you! Edit: infra has me in tears 😭😭😭
Grief doesn't go away. It just takes a different form. A sadness is like the sea. To begin with, the waves are very big. Then the swells come, but the sea is never calm again.❤
thank you!! this music brings tear of joy to my soul. your re-composition of "the four seasons" by Vivaldi . would make him so proud of your work, once again thank you from a humble fan.
I don't know. It has lost the jocular and bon vivant outlook of 18th century Venice, and instead has the darker poignancy of life in the 21st century West. Spring 1 is not a celebration, it is a sigh of relief. When the keyboard and low bass strings come in at 2:28" the mood definitely darkens. With COVID, that mood has only become far more prominent and noticeble.
Coming very, very, very late to the party (working on poetry books.) Stunning, ultra-creativity. Superb players and studio mavins. Standing ovation! Encore! (A thought, Richter, take the baton; just saying.)
I first heard this as background music while walking around Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, it was a bit like seeing a face and thinking I've seen it before or I know you from somewhere. The music (recomposed) has a bit of athleticism to it.

Dumbing down of a masterpiece. Mr Richter has failed to compose an everlasting classic tune himself, he has merely taken a masterpiece, re-hashed it for a modern digital age and is making a fortune playing it in large venues with amplification. The tunes and cadenzas are well known to us all, this re-arrangement skillful though it is, caters for a digital audience in large venues that remove the soul of the piece, Give me the original in an acoustic venue with no amplification and moody lighting. Well done for making a shedload of money out of "reinventing" a masterpiece to which you have added very little. An absolute con trick of the highest proportions.
Exception done for spring 1 which is outstanding, than the whole piece is a way down that end up only proving how far contemporary composers are from those of classical age.. 😢
I really appreciate your recomposed version of 4 seasons. Thank you so much, Max Richter. This version is great. Also, I highly recommend you to check out this link ua-cam.com/video/UIf1zz3vWx4/v-deo.html !! It's played by Soojin Han, an astonishing violinist! Beautiful!
Saludos cordiales.
Is there a problem with the violin? Is this the first time he uses that violin? Seems like he has a lot of problems controlling that violin. By the way, I love the recomposition.
I agree with your reply. Max is one who has brought music to another level what people have never experienced as yet. He is composer of all the time, for sure
Nigel Hope has a problem with his violin? Lol..omg the ignorance...the man is a master ...he makes me cry when he plays its so passionate.. get a hearing aid..no actually get 2 !!!
@@fionawoodhams Yeah, is actually ignorance that is why I am asking, I am looking for someone to explain me. What kind of hearing aid do you recommend I get to understand this piece? I said why I saw based on my very limited understanding. I would appreciate if someone could explain instead.
This is a really hard piece. I don't think he's doing bad with it. Might not be the most technical piece ever written, but if he makes any mistake with it people will know because of how known it is. I think he did fine.
I think he has made an impossible thing: He made a master piece from another master piece.
A remasterpiece!
