Chemotherapy Session, 22 May 2012

On 22 May 2012, Laing had his second lot of Chemotherapy. I took my camera along and photographed it. Some of those photos I assembled into this small video which Laing never saw, nor never wanted to (unless if he looked at this behind my back).
The music is a dreadful computer performance of Erik Satie's Gnossienne No. 1. Although I do not generally like the use of music I love to accompany a video, somehow, the melancholy and repetitive nature of this particular composition suggested itself to me as I was assembling the images.
The video is dedicated to the nursing staff and volunteers at the Cedar Centre, King George Hospital, Ilford, whose dedication to the treatment of patients who we know are likely to die sooner rather than later is remarkable.
