Funny as Jinjer is my favorite band and Nemophila has moved up to #2. The Babymetal comparison has merit as all these great J-Metal female bands even when they go heavy like in Dissension have melody. We associate the melody to pop aka Babymetal is a mix of metal and pop. Saki the guitarist with the white amp is a HUGE Babymetal fan.
Mayu is such a little firecracker of a singer. So much energy and so smooth switching from scream to clean to gritty.This song is a hoot, but not really a good example of their sound, they sorta pushed the intensity all the way up on this one. Check out their song Oiran. It was the first original song they posted and it's a great tune, and the video is of a jam session where they're having so much fun
NEMOPHILA. My favorite band now with Babymetal and Nightwish. NEMOPHILA are amazing. Their cover videos and originals are all fantastic. The base player Haraguchi San and drummer Murata Tamu are always swapping smiles throughout all their studio videos. They call them the smiling thunder. "OIRAN" next.

They are a supergroup composed of: Mary's Blood guitarist Saki ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X) ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam (also does other projects) Other than Saki, none of them had previously been with a breakout band, despite having amazing chops. Getting these five together did the trick-they are just exploding. Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized Mayu with some help from Saki. They started off posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. In all honesty I never expected it either.. hehehe. They remind me of a Filipino band called Slapshock, with this song. As others have commented, I have no idea what food these Japanese ladies are consuming, but more power to them! Nemophila is a flower, you nutter hahaha
LOL not the first one to first looked shell shocked or think love a fish ( blue 5 petal flower there is a park in japan that this plant flowers on mass)This is there last song released end of Feb and they did go hard !! there not all like this ,super talented and can do any sound from rock/punk /metal/death metal .All top of there game and came together in 2019 to support the singer Mayu at some gigs .They got on so well Nemophila happened. 7origanals all bangers and a host of fun covers these know how to rock and have fun doing it. You wont be disappointed doing any thing they do but would suggest like others doing Oiran first as it was the first they recorded in there practise room 2020

They are very versatile, Raitei, Oiran, Life. You got a lot to go through, from new stuff from Lovebites that'll pop your jaw, Band-Maid, and tons of new bands to cover. They are popping out in Japan every month now. If anything this pandemic did is get people to experience and discover many amazing bands from around the world ... and realize that the current US/UK music kinda suck :D No offence, everyone has their own taste and choice, but its true :)

@@cepho8349 I think they are better than Lovebites, I like their instrumentals but dislike their vocals, so to me Nemophila are better. I haven't listened to Galneryus, so no opinion there and you may be right.
Nemophila's only real live video is ua-cam.com/video/WSJ2imYD738/v-deo.html Raitei (Thunder) but the sound quality is a bit poor. It was taken from an online live, which had perfectly good sound quality, so we aren't sure how this got crappified but might explain the lack of live stuff on UA-cam. I have seen all their online lives and they have all been superb with a version of Oiran for the ages in one of them. The MV for Oiran is a studio play through of that song which is about as close to live as you're going to find from Nemophila with good sound quality, it's also a great song and good example of who Nemophila are. Nemophila ia a flower common in North America and the Pacific rim - as denoted by their logo. The Vocalist, Mayu, chose it as a juxtaposition to their sound. There is another band that have made a splash recently with a flowery name too - Hanabie, or "Cold Flower". You might like "We love Sweets" just to ease you into them gently. :[]
