The Japanese rock and metal scene is absolutely insane right now. The amount talent at every instrument, including vocals, is unparalleled. And it's ruled by women. You have so many more bands to check out.
The members of nemophila are musicians from 5 different bands. They are all excellent musicians. And their styles cross various genres of music. I recommend《oiran》live (recent one) as next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
Welcome to probably the best metal band in the world right now and there all ladies live there monsters and can and do go heavier listen to Zen by them or go pop metal or metal funk or even rap metal or cover any band they like and stick it up on YT . Just one brilliant fun bunch of girls having fun and reviving METAL . I see others suggested Oiran the most resent live on there YT i second that .
Nemophila "ballads" "Life", "Now I Here" both live more into metalcore "Seize the Fate", "Rise" official videos just heavy bit poppy songs "Adabana" "Ray of Light" rap "Style" and tons of covers Kiss, AcDc, Iron Maiden, Minions :)
Who does she hate?!! Great question!! 😂 Well, she liked someone cause she recently had a child, as did the drummer. 🤷🏻♂️. But they both came back as strong as ever. They’ve played shows and festivals in the US, so they should be headed back at some point, as Band-Maid is next month. They’ve super versatile. I’m not much of a screaming metal guy but I seemed to get their use of it and like the band and their music.
Nemophil-a (NOT “Nemophil-i-a) were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of: ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X) ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Murata Tamu This is one of the bands to watch, no question. They just started in 2019 and are blowing up fast. As you can see from the gang vocals, they don't take themselves too seriously-Hazuki even winks. They almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.” Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized by Mayu with some help from Saki, largely to keep busy in the early days of the pandemic. They started by posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Then they began posting originals, starting with “Oiran” ua-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/v-deo.html The viral reaction seems to have convinced them they were onto something potentially big, so they’ve been putting a lot more work into it, including some successful live-streams and an appearance at the annual Japanese female rock festival NAONのYAON. They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers. Drummer Murata Tamu took time off to give birth to her son, and on her return, the rest of the bandmembers gave her a welcome back that resulted in an extremely moving moment captured on live stream: “Life” ua-cam.com/video/HFnEYhbEAqg/v-deo.html After Oiran, others to check include "Dissension", which will fry whatever is left of your circuits: ua-cam.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/v-deo.html and “Raitei”, which means “Thunder” in Japanese, and yes, they bring the thunder: ua-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/v-deo.html More recent drops that showcase their intensity and versatility: “Adabana” ua-cam.com/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/v-deo.html “Style” ua-cam.com/video/Aph5GON6rPc/v-deo.html (written by their bassist, Haraguchi-san) “Seize the Fate” ua-cam.com/video/4tpgLyckVYg/v-deo.html “Rise” ua-cam.com/video/rD3VMAm-9iA/v-deo.html Saki is the only one who had been with a breakout band before (Mary’s Blood); Hazuki and Murata-tamu are also considered elite musicians and have worked with a lot of other top artists. Hara-san is the youngest but is clearly a great talent and has been developing in front of our eyes. She has already written several songs for the group. And of course Mayu is quickly establishing herself as a great metal vocalist. They just toured the U.S. (their second go at performing here): I saw them live and they blew the roof off the place.
I have been listening to rock/metal for half a century (I am 62) and have always enjoyed discovering new music every year. In very early 2020, I discovered Japanese metal/rock and that slow steady flow of discovering great new music became a flood. If I made a list in 2019 of all-female rock/metal bands that impress me, that list might have had 3 bands. Right now, because of Japan (plus discovering The Warning) that list is easily over a dozen. At the top of my list of all female bands would be, in no particular order, Crypta, The Warning and three Japanese bands - Band-Maid, Lovebites and Nemophila. I was able to see Nemophila live in Dallas back in March and they put on a helluva a show. Mayu is a fantastic, charismatic vocalist with a natural grit to her voice that is very unusual in Japan. The musicianship is excellent across the board led by the guitarist, Saki, who is usually on stage left during shows. Saki was already metal royalty in Japan before Nemophila formed in 2019. To me the best live video to start with would be their performance of the song Oiran - ua-cam.com/video/19VQ9tkWksQ/v-deo.html Lovebites needs to be on your list if they aren't already. They recently released a live performance video from a concert earlier this year. The song is called The Hammer of Wrath and if you like thrash, you will like this - ua-cam.com/video/pHrWRT0Jeac/v-deo.html
Wow thank you for all of that insight! That’s pretty incredible! Stay tuned for our first reaction to Lovebites going live before the week ends! Thanks for your suggestions! We will look into them! Much love!

They do fun playful covers of older established bands that seem to be saying, "We can play this stuff with one hand behind our back without breaking a sweat". Their KISS, Bon Jovi, and AC/DC, covers are (dare I say it?) better than the originals.
