My parents took me and my family here in the 60's and 70's. We used to rent a cottage and stay for two weeks. It was so much better back then. Family oriented and the Hotels and Motels were nicer. Lots of cute Gift shops. The Casino/Ballroom had an arcade that had rides and ski ball. We would go to the beach in the day and go out at night to the board walk and to the arcade or talent night. Honestly, they were the best years of my life. Whenever I see a seagull I think of Hampton Beach. It meant so much to me. I miss my parents so much. This video reminded me of us all together.
exactly the same for me. Folks rented a cottage for a week, sometimes two. I rem the 70s and early 80s but I was there in the late sixties as a little kid under 5. The wonderment of it all still touches me to this day! bittersweet now that my folks have passed. MANY THANKS for sharing this.
I love this place so much! Growing up as a child my family used to take me here all the time. This is my favorite beach in the whole world. Such a unique fun place. There's nothing quite like Hampton Beach. It has a special place in my heart
I grew up there, lived there year round 1944-55. I see a few shots from those years. What's with the weird music though? Shoulda used popular songs of the times like they used to play at the bandstand IMHO.
