Nice reaction mate and welcome to the Lovebites club. The band is formed 2016 in Tokyo from ex Destrose band members Miho the bassist and composer ( she is the band leader) and Haruna the drummer ( best female power metal drummer in the world at the moment) the other members are Asami the vocalist and songwriter ( she was R&b and jazz singer before to join the band) Midori the lead guitarist and backing vocals with the blonde hair ( she is the one of the fastest female guitarists in the world speed demon) and Miyako the other lead guitarist, pianist and composer with the black hair ( she is the main composer of the band). Lovebites are the winners of 2018 in category for best new metal band. The band is influenced by 80s metal. They like to touring in Europe. 2019 they was invited by Dragon force to touring together in UK. Their last album Electric pentagram was nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year. Miho the bassist mentioned once we are here to make something memorable. They want to step closer to their inspiration bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Halloween, Metallica and Slayer. I call Haruna (the drummer) "Mrs. Metronome". 😉As an expression of respect, of course. She c o m m a n d s her drumset, at seemingly any speed and any length of a song. And she _loves_ to smile happily while doing so. She is a one-off, and I highly respect her. I am a passionate Metal drummer myself, and I therefore know, that playing Haruna's drumset is highly demanding. No average person just jumps on stage and tries his/her best on such a "machine". And even if I was able to do so, I would not even think of smiling while playing.
Sometimes I find her skills simply outrageous. 😂 Long live Lovebites! 😄
Hey, great reaction! They actually toured with DragonForce in the UK couple years ago.
They dont do just power metal by the way, they also do a lot of thrash, heavy rock and quite a few power ballads too.
Miyako the dark hair guitarist playing a Dean ML is the main composer for the band and she is a classically trained pianist. Some of Lovebites biggest influences are bands like Iron Maiden, Slayer, Judas Priest, Pantera, Metallica, Helloween.
They always dress like this in white, the main reason being since they are small ladies its helps them stand out on stage.
Try - Holy War, Break the Wall, Edge of the World, Swan Song, Scream for Me, Addicted, Empty Daydream, all Live. Just like with Band Maid its much better to see them Live!

I'm a couple days late to watching this (long work week) but oh boy, are you in for a treat with Lovebites. I'm sure many others have said stuff like what i'm about to say already, but there is a lot more where this came from with Lovebites. As much as I love this song, I don't even think it's in their top 5 as far as like...showcasing their talent. Of course, watching some live videos is a must...they are insanely good live. And some of their other songs lets their 2 guitarists shine even more with their patented solos. And while their 2 guitarists get a lot of the love...for obvious reasons...the drummer and bassist are also extremely talented. It really is almost unfair that these ladies are all allowed to be in the same band...I mean, a lot of bands would dream to have 1 guitarist as good as one of these ladies...but 2 of them? Ya...anyways, you're going to have fun with this band. Just wait till you see some more of their solos, it's a huge staple of theirs because...well, 1 they can pull it off and 2 because why not do them basically every song when you're that good? Anyways, if you need a few suggestions though i'm sure many have already done so...i'd say some good ones would be Break The Wall, Scream For Me, Holy War, The Hammer of Wrath, and Raise Some Hell. And at some point, you have to do Shadowmaker as it's basically the song that really got them going and started getting them some attention. Anyways, i've rambled on too much now. Thanks for the reaction. It makes me happy to see more people reacting to this band. They are so good. (Also, just a side note, one of the guitarists has her own youtube channel where she shows off her custom guitar and some fun stuff if that might interest you. Her name is Miyako, the one playing the Dean guitar.)

they are amazing. they are a serious metal band. they albums were mastered in finnvox studios/helsinki by the guys who also work with amorphis, children of bodom, nightwish and many more. and live they are even better. Very nice reaction! Lovebites are: Miho (bass), Haruna (drums), Midori (white guitar), Miyako (black guitar) and Asami (vocals). The do not stick strictly to Powermeta but incorporate many classic metal styles into their music and they sound live even better. Great reaction man! They play the older style power metal too along with a few ballads. They have a nice mixture of different metal types in their catalog. This song is definitely the most Dragon Force like song they have. A good thrash metal song is "Hammer of Wrath", a nice progressive/ballad song is "Edge of the world, a pure ballad song would be "Epilogue", also a great upbeat rock/metal song would be "Raise some hell". I highly recommend watching them live from their "Five of a kind" tour and also their "Daughters of the Dawn" tour.

The white outfits, yes, are a conscious choice. They were conceived as a power metal group, a genre where everyone seems to be in black and all bound up in the dark side. They chose to dress in white to project the idea of being on the side of the Light.
They also chose to use mostly English to reach the largest potential rock and metal audiences, and vocalist/lyricist Asami is fortuitously fairly skilled in English.
Founders were bassist Miho and drummer Haruna, formerly of Destrose (Haruna is a good friend of Akane of Band-Maid BTW). Next came Midori, the guitarist on an ESP custom with blonde hair fall and shorter more flamboyant outfit, on our left, then Miyako, the serious lady with jet black hair and long split dress playing a Dean usually, on our right. She was in two other bands but was intrigued by the direction of this new group that was forming. She also plays classical-concert level piano, which is seen occasionally. She leads the composition of the music.
I also feel Miho's bass work too often is lost in the mix. Although her approach is not as bold as that of Misa of Band-Maid, she is very good and deserves to be heard more.

Congratulations on stumbling into the Wolf Pit! Some background:
They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music. They have only been around for about 4 years.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and now they’re taking it to another level.
This is not the most intense thing they've done. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. One key to their sound is that the two shredders are so different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets really rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.")

Just found you, very good reactions. I don't think anyone answered your question as why they wear white. So here goes. They are petite ladies the tallest is maybe 5'2" Miyako and shortest is 4'9" Haruna. Because most metal stages are dark they wear White so they standout from the dark background. Also what they wear is to create "the Gap", meaning the difference in what you are seeing beautifully dressed ladies and what you are hearing Power Metal. the Gap is very popular with Japanese bands, AKA Band maid.
I've noticed that, it's a very interesting concept that no one seems to be pushing better than Japanese bands. Thanks for the info!

Great reaction. It looks like you have been bitten. When you mentioned that Band Maid is all over the place...well not really. Band Maid is more hard rock - punk rock. Lovebites do have a lot of power metal songs, but they definitely play all sorts of metal. You should check out this band live, they are heavier. Here is the link for the live show opener called "Thunder Vengeance". ua-cam.com/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/v-deo.html. There are many songs out there, but many are also taken down by the band's management. This link is an official video so there should be no problem.
this was the first song of theirs I heard and was instantly a fan - Samurai power metal WOW. It's been more than a year, a d kudos to them. I like BandMaid more because I play more punk/rock than metal.

The cinematography of the video really gives you a good look at what each musician is playing.

These ladies are undoubtedly crazy talented but for some reason with this genre, as an English speaker, I really miss being able to understand the lyrics more than I do with Band-Maid or even Babymetal. I feel like with power metal there is often a story being told with the lyrics and without getting that story too, even though the music is fantastic I don't enjoy it as much which is unfortunate.
True, I get that as well, it's very hard to understand lyrics. At least that's been my experience so far
If you look up the lyrics, you don't have to translate them because 90%+ are already in English. I didn't have an issue understanding her, but looking the lyrics up is still worthwhile because when they're on the page in black and white all at once, it seems to me they hit you with more impact.
And when looking at them and replaying the video, it helps you get used to Asami's pronunciation.

I won't make a recommendation since my fellow commenters have left so many good ones already, but I wanted to chime in and say that I love this band. They've really grown on me the more I listen to them. The guitarists, Midori and especially Miyako, are impressive and listening to them never gets old. Miho, the bass guitarist, doesn't seem to stand out too much in a lot of songs, but when she does, she shows off a high degree of skill that I wish we could see more of. Their cover of Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" is a prime example of that, and I guess I just made a recommendation. Haruna, the drummer, is insanely precise and always looks like her incredible drumming is no big deal. She's fun to watch. Asami, the vocalist, took me some time to get used to, but she won me over with her technical skill, charisma and stage presence, and how much she seems to enjoy performing. There are videos of her performing the Halestorm song "Love Bites (So Do I)" with Halestorm, and while Lzzy Hale towers over tiny Asami, Asami holds her own vocally.
Miyako has her own UA-cam channel, a lot of which is dedicated to her receiving, trying out, and talking about her new Dean signature guitar. Not a lot of it is in English, but I'd recommend browsing her videos not for a reaction, but just to see her jam. She's a wonder to behold on both guitar and piano.
Eagle Fly Free is hands down my favorite Helloween song, very curious to give that a listen. Thanks as always for all the info 👍🏻
If your after more of this genre. Check out "Unleash the Archers" They have an amazing singer + dualing guitars as well. All top notch players. Songs to check out. " Awakening"," Tonight we Ride.", " Clense the Bloodlines" Just to name a few.

When you realize that Haruna (the drummer) is TINY! She can keep that up non stop for 1.5hours... she's just something else. I mean how god damn efficient you have to be and how good of a technique you nee to keep it up that long and still sound big and powerful... she's just nuts.

Miho Miho Miho! I think this is the best gateway song into LoveBites (like Dice for Band-Maid), it shows what they are capable of. NOW LIVE you will be inundated with suggestions for LIVE and for good reason Just avoid BLOODSTOCK footage, poor quality audio due to a Sudden change of stages and no sound checks (from what I have been led to believe).
No sound check sounds like a recipe for disaster, I'll definitely avoid that. Thanks for the recommendation!

Excellent job pegging the Reinxeed similarity. I really haven't heard many other people make that comparison but you're right on with that. Those huge major key melodies and harmonized sweeping sections are straight out of Tommy Johanssen's book and this song in particular wouldn't have sounded out of place at all on 1912.
That's exactly the record I had in mind when I made the comparison, even more than Majestic. I kind of lost track of them after Welcome to the Theater though
I love ReinXeed. They're a great band and Tommy's vocals are soo delicious in the ears. His new band Majestica also follows the pretty much same formula, and it's a great thing.
Thanks for reacting to Lovebites, they're kinda all around too, from power to thrash to heavy metal to hard rock, but one thing is for sure, they're frikkin' amazing. And what's more amazing about them? Watching their live performances 🤘🏼🤘🏼

@@akaalexanderking indeed they have. Perhaps you should react to one or two songs from them? If I may give a suggestion, their cover for ABBA's "Money, Money, Money" is a pure fun. On the Japanese side of music, I suggest you check out another all-female metal band called Nemophila. They're pretty new, only have three singles if I'm not mistaken, but their skills are absurdly amazing too. Check "Raitei" if you decide to give them a look. Cheers 🤘🏼
