It’s easy to forget watching these chaps sitting comfortably in their seats that they are in charge of a huge aircraft containing 100’s of passengers and everybody’s safety relies on their skill and confidence. I salute you all.
Easy and booring
It may be easy to forget (or you could be forgiven for not even knowing) that you are watching a channel that carefully curates all responses, censoring those from professionals who may have some reservation or suggestions about what is unfolding. So you need to know you are watching a channel that is not actively contributing to aviation knowledge, culture or safety, and only seeks "likes" from those who unknowingly approve the content. As a professional French pilot, I offered some commentary about some less than optimal aspects of this approach, as well as this general environment, but all were brutally censored by the highly-sensitive Just Planes administration. I lose nothing, because I am sharing knowledge, training and insight I have from over two decades of flying in France and worldwide, but YOU lose because you are deprived of insights from a professional pilot who has flown this airport for decades. I was not insulting derogatory or in any way disparaging in any of my comments, but ALL were brutally censored and eliminated by Just Planes, and in some cases even the poor people who had the bad taste to ask questions in the first place were also axed, just because I answered.
I would recommend unsubscribing from this channel, simply on the basis that they actively and aggressively suppress commentary that could better inform their fluff content.
@@gregfaris6959 dude you need to get your hand off it and get some fresh air
not really. they're clearly pilots. did you think they were chefs while watching this? how do you forget that they're pilots? LMAO
@@rougedog8111You are boring
I cannot explain how privileged I feel to be able to look over the shoulders of the pilots. Your videos are exceptional in all respects especially in showing these magnificent airplanes are flown by exceptionally bright "average" regular people. I plan on watching every video you ever released because I find them so fascinatingly pleasing. It's a selfish reason but yours are the best, period. Many thanks to all involved in Just Planes.
yep
Still haven't travelled in a plane and watching this like a magic.
Great job, gentlemen❤️
Glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully soon you will get on a plane!👍
Wonderful video this majestic king of the skies promoting the protection of coral reefs iconic livery hats off to these pilot pros ✈️✈️✈️✈️🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Fantastic, thank you! The autopilot performed flawlessly. In the 90s I was flying on an Air UK Fokker 100 and managed to visit the cockpit inflight (good old days). The Captain said we’d be performing an autoland at Stansted. I didn’t even notice the touchdown - it was so smooth.
What a Fokking aeroplane.
@@mrsoikawa Haahaa, it really was! It reminded me of the DC-9 sitting in the back, still SO noisy, just a bit less with the Rolls-Royce Tays! Great little Fokker she was (old joke I know!). I remember working at Air UK dispatching Fokker F27 “Friendships”. Honestly, they made your ears bleed screaming beyond loud.
@@LAGoodz cool story, I never flew in a Fokker before they went under
Very few will notice, it is an auto pilot landing.
Such a beautiful and impressive machine, just the wrong time, it's so sad.
I hope to see them around for a little longer!
They would have fared slightly better if there had been a proper freighter version, maybe in the future airbus will make such an aircraft to replace retiring 747-400F.
The shot from 30:17 and the shot from the cockpit are so different, in the cockpit looked smooth and calm but from the outside was like a roaring beast, besutiful..
Amazing video. Thanks a lot. I flew 4 times on A380 Business Class. 1 CDG/BKK/SGN. with Thai Airways and 3 with Emirates CDG/DXB/SGN(DXB/SGN with Boeing 777-300). Also flight with Qatar on A350 and Boeing 787. A380 is TOP !! (incredibly quiet) and Emirates is also TOP !!
How amazing these guys are with great communication and safe flying landing planes. I’ve a fear of heights now but flying with this crew I know we’d be safe.salute u guys
Glad you enjoyed it!
I used to work with HiFly until COVID arrived! I was unemployed, later i returned to work in the aviation sector, but in another company at Lisbon airport. unfortunately a sudden and serious illness has sent me out of work again! I sincerely hope that soon i'l be recovered than back to working with planes. Nobody knows how much I miss that world! The noise, the smell of fuel, the stress, etc... only those who love that, deserve appreciate it, it's not a job for everyone!!!
Love it! I flew on an A380 BAP (Big Ass Plane) to Thailand some years back. What a great ride! We were on the upper deck and we couldn't even tell we were flying. The air was so smooth for the entire flight, and the landing was greased so wonderfully! Too bad flying is such a pain in the ass nowadays. I hate all this TSA bulls**t. Pointless garbage. In any event, yet another fantastic video from the Just Planes team!! Thank you so much for the wonderful videos!
You have "Terrorism" to thank for ALL that pain in the ass.

These videos are just outstanding! So interesting and always different. I like to see the personalities of the different crew in each video🌟
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoy them Brooke!
I can remember landing here and as we had a rather long taxi it was brilliant seeing the rabbits run across the taxiway.
We were late arriving but as the crew still wanted their night in Paris they carried on whereas I just grabbed a pillow and blanket and went to sleep on the aeroplane on stand until the new flight deck arrived.
This is a great example of a briefing done right. Very nice.
Sounded very long winded to me.
My love a380
Thanks for the upload :)
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching!

I'm a very nervous flyer. This video helps me to relax. Thanks for sharing!
I really like it evn I also want to fly the Airbus a380 when I will grow up and become a pilot because I love 💕 aeroplanes
Excellent work of the pilots! Thanks for the nice video! Pity this giant bird is on the ground for more than 1,5 years already. Birds have to fly! Some people say that quad-engines are obsolete now, I don't agree, there's still a lot of work for them!
I remember flying on the A380 a couple of years ago. I was so impressed, and when we took off it was so quiet- amazing experience. Sad that I probably won't have another chance to fly one, with most being pulled from service either already, or in the near future.
They will still be around for a while... currently in operation at Emirates, Singapore, China Southern and hopefully more airlines will put them back in service soon.
@@justplanes British Airways wants to reinstate their A380 in the future. Also Qantas, as far as I know. China Southern also thinks about resting their A380 fleet for cost reasons.
The A380 is a Really amazing aircraft. My wife and I had the privilege to fly in an A380 from Dubai to CDG. Then again from Zurich to Dubai and then back to Johannesburg. It will be sad to see the A380 being phased out.
Having flown 40 hours ppl I love watching these I couldn't go commercial cause eye sight was not good enough when was younger .
What a beautiful flight. It's great to see your world from the cockpit. Thank you for your professionalism in getting the people of this world around the world. Continued success thank you for this video.
Woe thanks this is what i really like, they show you the briefing the landing, instrument panel, cockpit view.
Really amazing 🙂
A380 😍✈️
I think the A/THR for engine 1 was inop. Hence THR LVR 1 was out of CLB detent, set at IDLE for descent and the LIMITATIONS displayed on ECAM showing for ALL PHASES: NO RAPID THR CHANGES.
Yes correct my dad noticed too
Im pretty sure what my dad said is that it shows on how bad of an condition the plane is at the moment
Well, I don’t necessarily agree. The 380s I fly (Emirates), are in excellent shape and a simple auto thrust fault is a pretty benign malfunction you can even dispatch the aircraft with.
@@culemanndubai yes my dad also flies the @380 at emirates but this isn’t emirates and I mean they won’t dispatch with more then one engine with inop
@@culemanndubai are you German by any chance ?
definelty the coolest captain if have seen.
Very smooth landing congrats captain
They are my heros..To understand what they are saying is a gift..Ok, it is on english, but the talking there own language
Not just anybody off the street can fly these planes, Special People with very special skills and I'm sure some nerves of steel command these huge planes filled with people around this world we live in..... THANK YOU to the crew and THANK YOU J.P. for showing this video.
You are very welcome Robert, glad you enjoyed this video!
Not really, girls fly A380 too.. ;-)
Superb video. Surprised the pilots have to work so hard on cross checks and settings with so much automation. However I am also comforted that they do it.
I love the A380. It is my favourite passenger aircraft. I have flown it very many times with Qantas Airways and a few times with Lufthansa and once with British Airways - always in Business Class. I think Qantas is better than both Lufthansa and British Airways.
This video I think is of High Fly - which is mainly charters. Good to see that they are so professional.
Hi Fly. I hope that they remain viable.
What a beautiful plane.
A380 is an Engineering marvel, was lucky to fly Bkk to HK on one of these and from Seoul to Frankfurt business class, really an incredible experience
Yes agreed
Lovely to hear the bilingual French /English atc to crew. Bonjour !
English is the standard language of aviation.
@@rogermorris8580 Roger Roger Wilco. Over out. ;)
A lot of people here ignore that you can actually speak other languages to the atc. I bet you never been in china or spain to see what language they are using.
@@Hk-uw8my you’re right., I haven’t ;). Amusing that I left the keyboard on vali language when typing reply to you. Oops. I guess that’s one of numerous Indian dialects? Anyway, even heavily accented English could be confusing to atc. Thank god for alpha, bravo, etc. ;)
@@chrishintz1077 chinese, spanish, and french are ones of the official atc languages used in the respective countries.
Heavily accented english is not required everywhere.
Very poignant ending considering HiFly have ditched the 380.
End of an era
Why does the engine number 1 is displayed as giving less thrust than the other 3 engines? for example, at 3:26 there is a significant difference !
The thrust levers were asymmetrically set. Likely due to some kind of inoperability of an aircraft system or to save fuel. Intentionally done by pilots
Happy trails..to you...
My Google profile picture is of my wife and I of Cath in the Captain's seat and me in the First Officer's seat of that very aircraft. Taken at Singapore Changi when Singapore Airlines flew it. Nostalgia.
The A380 fly at 43000ft at 240kts without any risk of stalling. Wow! That's amazing.
Why woult it stall at 43,000 feet?
@@miguelsuarez8010 Perhaps the commenter didn't account for KIAS. :)
The 747 can fly at 45000ft🌚. I'm actually an A380 fan but just saying btw 😂
We don’t read indicated airspeed in Kts above 32000ft, speed are Mach

TOP video, Portuguese Crew!! Captain Carlos Mirpuri i think
Well done Captain Carlos Mirpuri👍👍
Beautiful, majestic A380. I hope they take to the skies again and I can fly in Business Class rather than cramped up in Coach! 😂
I flew on an Emirates one, It had plenty of room per seat.

Yes, yes, we are ready to vacate at Kilo 3 as well.
I don't think in my 30 or so years in IT I worked in a more electronic environment than this 380 has. Just crazy. But the pilots know all the meters and knobs. I guess I did, too, though maybe their hours in their computer room was more than mine since I migrated among employers.
Are you Carlos Mirpuri? I worked in LPCS as ATCo for 31 years, I remember when you and your brother got started with just a Cessna 206 and a Shrike Commander... 😀

I have enjoyed every minute of this wonderful video!👌
Thank you so much, JP!👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you
What a decent, approach and touch down. Were there on a VNAV approach..I heard minima.
That taxi to gate instructions was so long !
Fantastic Video, thank you. I never understand why French ATC speak French and English on the same frequency. As a pilot, surely this reduces your situational awareness?
They did that because in real world ATC you have 6 official languages, that include french and Chinese😀
Glad u guys are flying long-haul. Must have been half the atlantic in one briefing 😬
A380 🤩
👍
We didn't deserve the A380, it's simply to beautiful for us.
And "JustPlanes" is far too ugly for us!
What a smooth landing
Very Very good
What’s going on with Engine 1? Some sort of malfunction?
Not sure
Maybe excessive oil temperature so they throttled it back a bit. If it gets extreme they would shut it down
Are they doing CAT III autoland to keep up qualification or whatever it's called? Cause you certainly couldn't have asked for better conditions for a visual, manual landing..
Yes they need to test the CAT III a number of times and the tests are always done with good weather.
Even with perfect weather, some airlines request their pilots to always autoland if they have the chance
Auto land is the best. It’s amazing the technology for these beast of the sky’s to land themselves. Love aviation, fascinated by it.
NICE VIDEO
Very good 😊
Nice Rolex GMT 10:31 :)
Thankyou
You’re welcome 😊
ILS Cat III autoland, totally automatic landing! fantastic!
👍
By the accent the copilot is Portuguese ✌️
Check out those (apparently) wide open farm lands, fields in vicinity. No mountains? This isn’t Denver !
Looking very nice.
Thank you! Cheers!
Brilliant.
Fabulous
I thought that all radio exchanges with the TCO had to be in English? You would never see this in Germany yet France seems to take exception!
It’s totally normal. The law say you should speak a language both pilots and ATC understand. If the tower speak French then it’s totally normal to speak it.
We 've come a long way since the Western Lysander !
I Love it !!!
Was that a perfect landing? Sure looked smooth...
They performed an automatic landing (ILS CAT III autoland). The only physical intervention from the captain was bringing the thrust levers to idle at about 30 feet, then engaging and stowing the thrust reversers.
Nice Fleyeth gentlemen.
Engine one lever was put at idle from top of descent , you can see the LVR ASYM displayed on the FMA , any particular reason ? Or is it a procedure for Hifly ??
Lovely
Thanks
The Robins egg blue engine nacelles lead me to believe this is Hi-Fly Airlines New York to Paris?
simply awesome.
superb video , liked
Many thanks!
Awesome
Thanks
That is one detailed approach briefing. Wow... I'm tired.
Agreed, that was the exact kind of briefing aviation is trying to move away from. One loses the other guy within the first 2 minutes.
Why did they have a LVR ASYM ( LEVER ASYMMETRY) on purpose ? you can see that they manually reduce the Lever 1 ( out of CLB detent) ? what's the reason to do so ? engine 1 slightly overheating ?
I'm not an expert on this, but I think the position of the lever doesn't matter for an airbus if it's in between CL or 0 as long as the auto thrust is engaged. In case of an Boeing, the auto throttle moves the levers as well so then it would be asymmetrical thrust. Still weird because I think everybody's inner OCD would like to have all the levers next to eachother...
@@milantenbroek1214 it does matter, as the lever 1 is not in the climb detent as the 3 other ones and therefore it will not have the same thrust as the 3 other engine
@@milantenbroek1214 when you are not in a detent, the thrust on the engine is based on the TLA ( thrust lever Angle).
So during the descent, you can be in idle thrust on the FMA but if one engine is not in CL detent but a TLA of 30%, it will produce more thrust than the other engines which are on idle
@@CMBelite-FR ah okay! Then I don't know either why they did it.
It appears as though there is some form of degradation or failure. Notice at 1:45, there is a memo on the E/WD that says "NO RAPID THR CHANGES". A quick search of the A320 manuals shows a few conditions would be associated with this.
If you notice, ENG 1 is actually at a higher thrust setting than the other 3 engines.
I reckon we would need to watch the whole film to find out what's the actual malfunction.
gostei dms do voo cara da hora para caramba vídeo top ✌✌✌✌✌✌🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The very detailed approach briefing was conducted by the First Officer as the Captain assumed control of the airplane while he was briefing as per SOP. So why did the Captain perform the landing? I am confused. It is expected that whomever conducts the takeoff or landing briefings does the flying.
They requested a Cat III ILS Autoland in this video. The plane lands itself all the way to touchdown. A lot of airlines require that the captain be the pilot flying while performing a Cat III ILS. Assuming that's why this occurred in this video.
@@jamesg5615 Okay, thank you. I wouldn't have expected VMC conditions for the landing as shown in the video for the Cat III ILS Autoland.
@@thebiffer100 Under normal circumstances they wouldn’t do such a landing in VMC but the captain requested such an approach for practice for the flight crew. Sometimes captains have to do them in order to stay CAT III current in the even they run into actual IMC on approach.
@@thebiffer100 the plane also has to be tested ,if it can autoland successfully or not. It has a certification. Thats why the pilots in the video did the autoland.
So where was it they were flying into Paris from?
New York, I believe.
@@bart171198 I was thinking New York/Atlanta/Boston/Montreal because initially I thought it was an Air France flight, but when they showed the wing view and I saw the light blue on the engine casing I assumed it was another airline, and so another route.
@@thomsonfly645k I think it was a HiFly charter flight from JFK but I could be wrong.
