Fun reaction! 😆 In the first year 1956 the juries for each country were present at the venue. Their individual points were added up after the last song and host Switzerland won and was announced as the winner. There was no public voting sequence or scoreboard. The scoresheets were thrown away after the show. So that's why besides the winner it's unknown where the other songs placed.

The last years Germany sucked! The last good one was Michael Schulte, but before that weren't many better ones... Every time we get last place, there is a new debate if we should stop being one of the main investors in the ESC, which I would prefer
As a German I feel kind of sorry for a lot of these song 🙈 I guess there is always someone who likes it.. 😅 no wonder we almost never male it far (just my stupid opinion). I like Lena now, but back then I found her so annoying and I still don’t like the song 🤷♀️
Das Video ist eine einzige Schlachtplatte !! Ich finde es Scheiße, wenn an den kurzen, zur Verfügung stehenden Ausschnitten, nochmals brutal geschnitten wird. Konnte mir den Mist nicht zu Ende anschauen und hab zwischendrin aufhören müssen. Leider !!!

It’s been found that the first German song actually finished second, followed by the first Luxembourgish song :)
