She died after overcoming anorexia, but the damage to her body had already been done. Some things can’t be reversed.

I agree regarding Karen Carpenter but where I do not agree as having anorexia back in my early teens, Early 20s to mid 20s, that in many medical articles have been written that Karen Carpenter had to go home to her Mom because she was getting so thin and her heart was faint…She was not healed from Anorexia when she passed but full blown in it.

I’m not sure Karen Carpenter ever recovered, unfortunately. People did not know about eating disorders back then, it was a different time.
My mom knew about Karen Carpenter’s eating disorder when she was younger. She had always listened to her. I remember being very young when my mom told me about Karen’s eating disorder. I’ve pretty much known about it my whole life.

Exactly. Jennifer is dealing with cumulative grief having lost her father less than a year ago. It's not as much of a shock at that age, but she now has absolutely no family, if I understand correctly. No siblings, nieces or nephews, no kids/next generation. She seems to have a great group of friends, but it's very existential loneliness to have absolutely no family. Very few people understand it. I'm in that position and it's hard to describe. Of course, I don't have the kind of support circle or funds she has for later care.

His parents lived a lot longer than him. No parents want to see their child die before them. He had so much potential & wanted more of himself, but I think the damage was done.

You know, I don’t know if this is true or not, but it’s a funny story.
I THINK Matthew was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and this is somewhere in the first season after the show was a hit. Three things I remember most about his interview. He talked about being unemployed before friends, going to Blockbuster to rent VHS movies and never returning them. So, he ended up having to pay $86 for a VHS copy of the Abyss.
Second thing, after he’s cast for friends and meets everyone else, he was very struck with how gorgeous Lisa, Courtney and Jennifer were. I can’t make the exact sound HE made, but it was something akin “homina, homina”.
Third, during that first season where he’s comes over without knocking, Rachel is home alone and comes out of shower into living room in a towel. He CLAIMS that she actually came out topless to get his genuine embarrassed reaction. This last part, I don’t know if it happened or not, but I do remember my buddies and I thinking “this guy’s got the best job in the world!”
Anyway, he was my favorite character and I identified with him about how Chandler identified with Mr. Heckles downstairs.
The fly over invading their privacy is sickening! I understand the curiosity an love of his fans, but we must back off, their only people first!
I feel like he was alone with his problems… died alone in the jacuzzi.. went under water and there’s was nobody to rescue him. It’s 😞 sad.

They might of shared a closer bond they said they kept in touch more. They were closer friends and closer in age. And Jennifer lost her dad last year so she is grieving her dad and now her closest friend. With her Greek background she was more like a motherly person.
We lost an awesome person. He made us laugh and he made us cry. There was only one Mattman and now he is at peace and he will be missed by all. RIP Matthew. Thanks for making the world a better place. In time I will start watching Friends again. Just not ready yet.

I know I speculate 🤨 a lot but I almost know she regrets not ever giving him a chance. Come on. Her exes were ugly (Pitt and other dude) and didn’t treat her half as good as him. Perry was a handsome and funny and talented man. She’s regretting all the “what ifs” and “I should have this” and “I should have that”. Truth does die with people. That’s why it never surprises me that people never learn anything and they just take life for granted. But Matthew Perry was honest with his feelings. I’m a fellow Leo ♌️ and I can relate to his inner loneliness and pain. ❤❤❤ It takes immense strength to be that vulnerable but not many in the world 🌍 can know what I’m talking about. I am grateful to know he was very self aware & authentic as they come & you just don’t see that kind of genuineness in people. I think it's so strange that these reports try to 'measure' who FEELS more than someone else.... NO ONE knows that except for those who knew him. I have never been so affected and saddened by the loss of someone I never personally knew. It's obviously still on my mind every day, because I watch 'Friends' nearly every day! It's bittersweet now, but it still brings me joy. Matthew Perry seemed like a brilliantly kind, smart, funny, and compassionate soul. He worked so hard to overcome so much, and he helped many people. That's quite a legacy. RIP, Friend. 💖💖
Jennifer had no shortage of men that crushed on her, I can see why. A movie I love with her in it is "Just Go with It" (2011). Maybe something fun to watch after seeing the distress Mathews passing is having on people.
