NOTE: Not quite 100%, but please let me off for the following: • Level 2: Overlooked answering a Telephone • Level 6: Missed a Soda Can due to randomised Vending Machine • Level 9: Missed killing a Toxic Blob stuck in a wall • Level 10: Missed killing 2 Toxic Blobs stuck in walls A Shortcut / Speedrun is also possible on Level 13, however at the time of recording I wasn’t aware of this. From the start, continually head north but veer left (not right!) around the tables - the Sliding Door to the Exit should be open.
In fact it’s *less* powerful when used in the same way as the Regular and Shrapnel guns, as it tends to eat ammo faster… It’s all about the burst-mode, which makes Level 10 in particular sooooo much easier!
Thanks for the playthrough, man!. This game was a blast to play on a Macintosh G3 or iMac when it first came out back in 1997. I remember that i was like 11 or 12 years old when it was released and that there was a way to stop the "wavy" effect that was present on the "It's Cooler Here" level(level 10). To stop the wavy effect on Level 10, you had to activate the "wavy" cheat and deactivate it. By doing this, the wavy effect would go away and the level would function like any other level. One day i decided to activate the wavy cheat on level 10 to see what the level would be like if it were "even more wavy" that it already was. I played the level with the cheat on but after a while, i couldn't stand all the "waviness" and decided to deactivate it but ended up discovering that the wavy effect that was already present in the level completely disappeared.😁😄😅
@@Thomas1984. There are no ‘in game’ cheats, however you could use a Saved Game Editor to give yourself more caffeine pills, mystery vials etc, which could help make it easier for you. If you’re stuck on a specific part however, this playthrough should help offer a solution/strategy for you - good luck! :)
@@calzabbath No, the unregistered (Demo) version only allowed you to play the first 5 levels of the original game. Registration unlocks Levels 6-15, plus the ability to play Custom Worlds and use the Level Editor.
@@JRP90 I think you're right, but I remember getting a CD-ROM (LOL) from a magazine, MacWorld or the like with plenty of games to play. Among them Marathon, HTHE and Nanosaur. I would swear I couldn't make it to Level 6 and it was there waiting, but I could be wrong. Far away memories though; I had a brand new grape iMac which is long gone, of course. Thanks for the video upload.
This isn’t a speed run, it’s a standard playthrough. Please also read the description - the music was actually turned off, but re-added in post-production.

Man my childhood. Fucking loved this game, need to jam it again.
Don’t forget about all the Custom Worlds! 😉
I’m so glad this came back to my memory.
This looks so stupid! I love it!
I absolutely adore the insane plot they included in this game.
Oh, wow. I never realized the B.A.D.A.S.S. had a charge-mode. I assumed it was just a more-powerful staple gun!

You’re welcome!
Ahh yes, the “wavygravy” cheat was always fun. The easier way to turn it off was to toggle the “More compatible drawing” Option. :)
@@JRP90 Yes, that was the cheat. I didn't know that you could also turn it off through the more compatible drawing option, though.
Can you tell me how to use cheats. I’m I think at level 8.
I’ve been stuck on this level for 16 years or so

@@JRP90 Thanks for the reply! I will look it up!
I LOVE THIS SO HARD.
If I recall, I think you can take out the mail carts with soda grenades... Then you wouldn't have to push the plants around so much.
That never worked for me I don’t believe, but even if it did that wouldn’t be as fun! 😉
I love this game! Steve Jobs would be proud!
Used to play this around 2000 and could never go beyond level 5.
Was that due to not registering?
@@JRP90 I think I remember it was a demo but available levels were more than that

@@calzabbath those magazine demos are how I got into ambrosia software games like apeiron, Deimos rising, and escape velocity
Perhaps music could have been turned off? Just sayin'. But I guess that would hinder a speed run?

It’s all part of the nostalgia.
