Upon review, I missed a few games that I did play this year and did not cover in a previous tierlist: Lemmings 1 & 2 - both OK Battle Brothers - Great Railway Islands - OK Sons of the Forest - Poor Mindustry - Poor Timesplitters 2 - OK Agatha Christie ABC Murders - Poor Bit.Trip Runner - Poor Contra - Great Bat the the Heavens - OK GUN - OK I'll add 'em in the next list.
Unicorn Overlord is my GOTY. It scratched so many itches for me. Battle Brothers, 7D2D and Dominion 6 are all games I played this year because of this channel. So ty Jake for playing them on stream, I thoroughly enjoyed them. Frostpunk 2 I am waiting for a sale sadly. The original I played the crap out of but the sequel just doesn't interest much. Games I hope leave early access and see Jake cover: Age of Darkness Final Stand, The Bazaar, Manor Lords.
When did you play EndWar? I know it's not a great game, but I really enjoyed it when it came out and every few years I go back to play the campaign again.
What I get from all this is Jake likes fat, ugly men. In that case, you should consider going back to Skyrim, but this time install "Big Fat Daddies in Skyrim" mod and transform it into ultimate old men game.
Jake, any thoughts on a multiplayer 7 days to die modded? Might be fun to see a group of you try to make a massive base instead of just a small death corridor, or perhaps another state of decay?
Only one that saddens me was Rebel Galaxy, but I get your point, if you dont want broadsides combat, you will hate it. For me it was a fresh idea when all space games are fighters and combat is more 'jousting' like. So I loved this take. but again, subjective and if that was not what you were looking for, yeeeah.
You know I got Workers&Resources when it first hit Steam, still in Early Access or whatever that was at the time. I wanted a game where I could build a city that would resemble something I could see from my own window, instead of those sweet, utopian City Skylines-likes which I have no personal connection with. This looked promising, especially since a lot of vehicles are based off real life counterparts I have either seen or drove myself. Anyway, that was something like 4 or 5 years ago, I spent about 100 hours at the time playing this early version and then I let it sit and mature. I came back after full release and I have to agree with your assessment - the game is so vastly complex (not complicated, just complex) that I actually don't want to play it anymore. There's just too much stuff to account for and plan ahead. There is no joy in just building a functional city, it's all number crunching and planning infrastructure, just so you would be able to maybe perhaps have a chance to build a couple of blocks of flats sometime in the foreseeable future, provided you either don't go bankrupt first or all your people escape to the West.
gud work soldier. thank u for ur service its a peculiar taste in a way; i dont know anyone who would openly eviscerate halo 2 or the witcher. but i find myself having similar unpopular opinions for ostensibly the right reasons, so i respect and want to inject this vein of genius patrician intellect even when i disagree with it (methinks halo 2 is still many funs 😠)
Its disappointing that you arent going to do more 7d2d. You catch me with games i like, such as 7d2d, rimworld, sod2, then say "i'm done with this game" and its 6months to a year before you're running something i care about, cheers

The Ancestor stream was golden. One of the all greats

I still think about Still Wakes The Deep. The most human experience one could go through while playing a game. Never been more immersed.
When did you play EndWar? I know it's not a great game, but I really enjoyed it when it came out and every few years I go back to play the campaign again.
Thanks man
thank god, i was so ready to go into the trenches for Magic Research 2!
I would be there in the trench with you, it's a great game.

Thanks man i can sleep now 😂
Have you looked at spellcaster university? Fun management game with some interesting story elements and campaign progression.
Dai Sengoku Rance mod is translated on F95 it might be worth a look

Only thing better than Jake playing games is watching him bash those ugly games:)). Merry Christmas to all.
Poor factory town, I loved that game enough to 100% it.
What about Slay the Spire Jake?
Not played enough.
Rated Great in last year's tierlist, I don't re-rate games that have already appeared.
@@DDRJake Thanks for that! I must've missed last years tier list - been great watching you play STS
