Thanks. You can also grab colors from the web or anywhere outside of Photoshop or Illustrator by using the color picker tool. With it active just hold the alt/option key while dragging the cursor outside of the Adobe app workspace. The only downside to this approach is you have to move your workspace window to the side and have the intended color visible on screen to be sampled.
i can't end to give thanks. It’s really easy way to realistic shadow on t shirt. I can't find this type shortcut easy tricks more than other UA-camrs.A Branch of Million thanks dear
I thought I missed an entire section on your video. Taking a photo? Where does this start? What program are you in? I'm completely new to this and nothing makes sense to me. I have a jpg image that I want to mock up on a tee shirt. That's all.
Hey, thank you, one of the most simple tutorials that truly showed what the title is. I do have one questions tho, please if u could answer: How can I get a mock up on the sleeves? Like for a hoodie? The sleeves and hood itself?
Thanks for the video! I find that I've been having a hard time finding the mockups that I need for products like pomades and stuff. I have a BFA degree in GD and we never learned how to make mockups, only where to get them on the internet. So I really appreciate this video!
perfect! exactly what I needed. I now have a psd file saved which I can make my own mockups on with a transparent background. I was looking for this so I can showcase my products next to each other, overlapping, all I need to do is add a stroke outline and I'm sorted. Thank you
Fantastic video! I was wondering if you have a printer/fulfillment service that you recommend? I used to have a great one but stepped away for a little.
Ow mister... you are so talented and kinda good teacher as well, new subs here. this like a manufacture level of t-shirt mockup. So versatile in regards to the flexibility of the mockup, and what amazed me is the simplicity and easy to follow. Thank you
I have a Epson R1800 printer but I was thinking about a laser jet printer. Which do you prefer? I have a ton of different heat transfers paper,a commercial heat press but I haven’t figured out how to design an image that’s in my head onto a program. What’s the easiest software to create designs? Thank You Jim
Hey Victor, It's actually pretty simple. You may need to play around with it though. I'd find some heather and tri-blend textures that you like, desaturate to black/white and then use the levels adjustment to fine tune the amount of texture you want to show. After that you can add a color overlay to it and use a clipping mask to clip it to the garment :) Hope that helps.
Hey Michael, Your videos are really awesome and it easily understandable, also in your blog you have posted good videos, keep posting such a great videos.
I was hoping you could help me.. I created a graphic in photoshop and i want it on a t shirt. The problem is the graphic is wayyyy to big and looks terrible when i scale it down to put it on a photo of a t-shirt. Is there anyway to keep the quality of the image AND put it on a shirt?? Anything would be helpful. Thanks Mike!
I love this tutorial. The only thing I was hoping to expand on was the adding the smart object. Is there a way to set up a boundary box such that when you drag the smart object or paste it the width will autfil the bounding box? That way you have a set template for placement too of where you put your smart objects or logo designs.
I love your video bro! I've been doing screen-printing for a while now and I always wanted to learn to create a proper mock up. It was very informative, you explained thoroughly yet kept it concise and to the point! Excellent work, thank you!
Hi Michael! Great instruction in this video. I am having a problem. I created a white logo in Illustrator and within PS I pasted it as a Smart Object right below the Shadows Group. Instead of the red shirt I made it charcoal where I can still see the wrinkles and shadows. But, no matter where I move my logo, I cannot see any wrinkles or shadows layered over my logo. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!
I figured it out Michael. The shadows layer was indeed set to multiply but my problem was that my original shirt sample didn't have the best shadows and wrinkles to begin with. With some burning and contrast adjustments, I was able to make a better base image BEFORE I used your steps in the video. Thank you for the quick reply and I'll be sure to check out and recommend your channel! Cheers!
Thank you so much for this video. I wanted to know if you know any sip app that I can use with windows computer and if u know any sites for mockups where people are wearing the tshirt? Many thanks
Offset Designs haha you're he first to mention those, yea those are custom ones I built for different garment brands. I saved blocks of colors as presets then loaded them into the panel
Haha That's nice. That's what i'm looking for, because I'm having a hard time finding a nice color combination(my weakness) every time I work out my logos and shirt designs.
Hey mate I'm having trouble finding the perfect fill layer settings. My white is just fine, but my black is too black that the neck line of the t-shirt is not visible. What am I supposed to do here? Great video by the way!
I did try it, but I have a fint line edge around the T shirt, which make it unreal. Could you please let me know how to fix it. two many masks layers? Thanks! Kind regards Alice
look up on google images a white t-shirt, then when you search for the shirt and results pop up, click on tools->color->transparent. This will filter out images that do not have a transparent background
You have to download photoshop from adobe.com (it's a cloud based service now for both mac/pc) or purchase an older version that is designated for Mac.
Very nice tutorial but there r 2 things i dont get... 1. wenn i drop a png as a smart object it doesnt form realistic (or even it doesnt looks like it forms to the shirt crease) it just look like its layin over the shirt and 2. why put it below the shadows ? as then it changes the colours..? is there something more to do so i can click into the "mockup object" and put the artwork in the new opened file like in free mockup versions? how 2 do this? As it always forms around the curves of the object and the wrinkles and crease..
You're looking for 'Displacement Maps' I have another video on how to do this. Anytime you place the artwork under a shadow layer it's going to affect the color - you'r adding a layer of shadows and highlights over your art. That's what makes it 'look' like it's a part of the shirt. Hope that helps!

I like how to pickup the color code and how to change the T-shirt color.

Yea for sure! I use threadbird printing, they do both and are easy to work with.

two questions, first how do you get photoshop on mac? second where did you get that tshirt layout? just the shirt
You have to download photoshop from adobe.com (it's a cloud based service now for both mac/pc) or purchase an older version that is designated for Mac.
to make your tag look how it did, do you just turn the opacity up to 100%?
Yep!
What program are you using to do this? Just microsoft art or?
Very nice tutorial but there r 2 things i dont get... 1. wenn i drop a png as a smart object it doesnt form realistic (or even it doesnt looks like it forms to the shirt crease) it just look like its layin over the shirt and 2. why put it below the shadows ? as then it changes the colours..?
is there something more to do so i can click into the "mockup object" and put the artwork in the new opened file like in free mockup versions? how 2 do this? As it always forms around the curves of the object and the wrinkles and crease..
