Hello Tamara. Can you please tell me if the remote microphone is compatible with the Pocket 2 and the Pocket 3? Thank you for another fine presentation. Kind regards Alan
@@TamaraGabrielUK do you happen to have the Freewell Glow Mist for Dji Pocket 2 by any chance? I have been looking all over for it but its discontinued after speaking with Freewell :(
No, sadly I didn't manage to get it before it became discontinued. When the Pocket 3 comes out I'm gonna check with Freewell whether they'll do one for it.
Thx. The Rode system is future proof. What happens when the pocket 4 comes out and the company forces a receiver upgrade for the handle. Its not a lot of money I guess for some just to buy new gear. Anyhow I am not a pro and just a thought pre purchase.
Great video! Many thanks. I bought the DJI pocket 2 wireless mic but the audio always sounds muffled and a little quiet (I have it clipped to my shirt, audio set at 6db, with the wind shield on). I always have to boost the audio level when editing and therefore I don't think the quality sounds as good. Do you have any tips on setting it up in a way to increase the performance? Any advice would be much appreciated. I've searched around, but everything seems to talk about the DJI wireless mic, not the Pocket 2 wireless mic. All the best, Jono 🙂👍
Nice video again! Can you maybe make a video about custom white balance settings? I would love to hear your opinion about that topic since I’m struggling sometimes in lowlight conditions (outside, city lights, late at night) with too reddish/yellowish skin tones with auto WB settings. Despite shooting in D-cinelike and using your luts + customisations.
Although not directly related to the P2, this video might help a bit ua-cam.com/video/d0Qp3OScv_4/v-deo.html If you still need help after, let me know.
@@TamaraGabrielUK thanks so much! I checked it out, but I believe I need further advice. Like when filming in changing environments at night, for example the city walks on my channel where you can see tons of light bulbs around you and frequent passerby‘s.
Hello thanks for this great informative video. Btw i have a question, can i just buy a mic transmitter without receiver? I mean i have a do it all handle from dji, can i just connect the rode directly to do-it-all or i need a receiver to connect to do it all first?
If you use a wireless mic system you’ll need the receiver to be plugged into the handle as you’ll be using the transmitter to talk into. A transmitter won’t work without its receiver counterpart there needs to be a connection to the camera. The DIAH is the way you connect the receiver in order to use the mic system. When you use a shotgun mic however, the shotgun mic gets plugged directly into the DIAH.
This video is super informative. One question, can I use the DJI pocket wireless mic with other devices? For example, if I was making a video on my iPhone, or SLR, can I use it with them? I’d really appreciate your response
Hi Tamara, I wasn't sure where to post this question about the dpi mic and action 2. Does the mic receiver have to be plugged into the camera? I was wondering if I can use a short usb 3 cable to remotely attach the mic receiver when the camera is in a cage? thanks for any help before I purchase. regards
Actually, all 3 sounded acceptable. The internal microphones seem to do an admirable job, providing very usable audio. The wireless microphones seem to be equal in quality, at least to my ear, even without the DJI not having its dead-cat installed. Bravo to all 3, I'd say.
Hi, Great series of videos on the DJI Pocket 2. I wanted to use the pocket 2 wireless mic to pick up ambient sounds like birds, car noise etc while doing first person video walks. So I wouldn't be using it to pick up my voice while vlogging, just background sounds. Is it ok for that? Or would I be better using the Pocket 2's in-built mic?
Can't wait for the version 3 that rumours say might be be released in Oct 22. Hopefully it will have better low light capabilities eg a 1" sensor for night time scenes. So far can't make up my mind whether to buy the version 2 now or wait for the version 3 which may or may not be released in Oct!
Thanks for the info! I've been using a cell phone for recording video and Rode Wireless 2 mics and a friend just recommended the pocket camera. It sounds like I didn't waste money on the Rode setup as the mics from that DO sound better, while the camera's isn't bad just not quite as full! This has been VERY helpful!
They definitely pick up ambient sounds but the voice is still clear. But yeah, a shotgun mic would be better if you want to eliminate the ambient sounds better.
@@TamaraGabrielUK thank you so much, i use a action 2 and like the idea of buying the DJI dual mic add on. But I also like ambient sounds since I film in woodland and the wildlife sound is a nice background. It’s the option of clear audio from a distance away that is pulling me and also have better wind noise control than just the camera mics
I have used the Movo wireless mic system, Rodes both 1&2 , Gopro's with and without external mics along with my Fimi Palm and I have come to the conclusion that it mainly falls on the type of voice you have. . I have deep low tone, The Rodes system took some time to adjust to get it right, while all of my Gopros worked great with & with out an external mic. The Fimi Palm was nice, but sounded a little clouded and the same with the Movo system. I have a few Mevo cameras and they pick up a lot with the internal mic, but are capable of working with Movo, Rodes, and other wireless systems that uses a 3.5 mm jack.
I like the rode go 2 mic better, it sounded brighter. The dji sounded a little muffed. Is the dead cat attached better on the rode go 2, than it was on the rode go 1
@@TamaraGabrielUK Does that mean you can link 2 pocket 2 transmitters or are you talking about the rode system. Have you done a range test on the pocket 2 transmitter.

Can I buy, for example, the Hollyland microphone and connect it directly to my DJI Osmo Pocket 2, maybe with a USB-C adapter directly into the charging spot? Or do I need something else? Thank you in advance for your answers!!
Nice comparison. To me it sounds like the on-board mic was the worst out of the 3 and the two wireless mics were pretty close in sounds quality. Thanks
Pocket 2 with mic and DiA handle is very good device for price and quality etc. I also rather watch stabiliz P2 than earthquake mirrorless. I only hope P3 would have removable battery. You could tell also why and when to use and what ND filter.

Yeah you probably could. Have a look at Rycote windjammers, you can get small ones that cover in-built camera mics.

Yeah, you can use one transmitter. It will record in stereo over two channels
