Cheating in a SP game means nothing, if anything it adds fun and replayability , especially with the addition of mods. How can somebody think THIS is cheating though? As far as I can remember, you can max out charisma from the begining?
I think the reason people are upset about this video is because it's misleading. The video is titled "High charisma at the start of the game is the best" and features him succeeding three speech attempts (after savescumming), avoiding two potential speech options by choosing different dialogue options, and failing a speech attempt, followed by him proceeding to just kill Simone and Wolfgang. The video claims up front that it's about using high charisma, and features little actual usage of that charisma followed by basic pistol killing when the charisma options fail. It also doesn't have any editing of the quicksaving and loading screens cut out and kinda just makes the viewer watch those in their entirety. While it's not a bad video in any sense of the term, it's just kind of deceptive to the viewers who clicked on it thinking they were gonna see some Jedi Mind Trickery at work.
Lil Miss Jay Does it really matter, Mr. Pony-Man. The answer is no. How about you just shut your little mouth because nobody cares enough to read your whole essay on a funny fallout video.
Lil Miss Jay Yea thats fallout 4's charisma system for you. I was expecting this to be a sarcastic video and show him having 10 charisma and failing the dialogue options. Obsidian please help us.
Because people are uneducated (hell even educated are pretty bad too, they just hide it under a veneer of know it all snob) and form opinions on things they know nothing about.
I did a 10 charisma build and put on the militia hat in front of the museum of freedom. I passed the speech checks here all without fail. Then got to diamond city passed every speech check there to every damn quest. Then I did the brotherhood quests. When I convinced that brotherhood guy to rejoin the brotherhood without fail I got suspicious. This check has always been known to be hard. Then I learned 11 charisma is a 100% success.
Just the Black guy also lower shop prices, companion buffs, settlement augmentation, settling things peacefully, intimidation, taming of animals, getting uniques
You can skip entire quests with it too. Like getting into vault 81 iirc, they want you to do some fetch quest before they let you in but you can just skip it with high charisma.
Completely true, I miss those long and unique dialogues from Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Really sad Fallout 4 would have been better if they put this dialogues in.
The assumption by the developer is that most players won't spend literally hours of their time over the course of the game reloading quicksaves to get more caps or pass what are truly pretty meaningless charisma checks.
@@DoctorGeniusPHD “Hours of their time” like 10 seconds? For an outcome far more profitable, even more if your character is charisma focused? Yeah nah.
What I hate about this game is that just about every social event is that you just need charisma. I remember when my brother was playing that one fall out game with the legion and ncr, he was on a mission to bust some fake guard, and there were many ways of going about it, one of them was to point out he shot 3 times when there were 4 baddies which requires a int check but he didnt have enough int but another way was he shot one of the baddies who were actually faking death ( you could have at this moment use medicine to deduce they were still alive ) which started a 5v1.
Fallout New Vegas is the game you're thinking of and that mission you're talking about is the first quest you do for The Kings. And yeah, those choices make Fallout NV stand out from 3 and 4. Writing is more branching and smarter.
That's every fallout game my guy. Having high charisma in fallout means you can do anything. I mean you can convince legate lanius to just fuck off at the battle of hoover dam
@@JohnDoe-hj9fhmazing... Every single thing you said was wrong. The OP was talking about accessing to branching solutions through INT and medicine checks, not charisma, which is a feature not present in 3/4/76 And charisma is not an autowin button mainly because you still need resources and equipment to *reach* legate lanius, which involves quite a lot of fighting Of course, you can apply some strategies and some secondary quests to get companions, and minimize the amount of fighting you must do, but doing a specific build along the entire game to specialize on a skill is preeettyyyy different from an "auto win button" and requires foresight anyways Heck, even picking all the [speech 100] options with lanius you can fail the conversation if you pick the wrong option
The best ending is the peaceful option. You gain two vendors plus Trashcan Carla hangs out there sometimes, making it a useful spot to dump loot or purified water.
It's a SP game, who gives a fuck if he wants to use the save system to his advantage. If the developers didn't want it to be used this way, then they should've made a better system. Don't blame the player for playing within the game parameters.
Not only you can make wolfgang lay down his weapon and give you his money, but you also can tell him to buzz off, Trudy's reaction to that is priceless.
I know right? Now I don't have to save-scum myself just to hear the dialogue, which I was curious about but not enough to actually make a balls-deep charisma build.
Personally I disliked it because if you have a high charisma build you can just run straight through every deep red dialogue charisma check in the game. This is not an example of high charisma. Therefore, dislike.
because if your gonna reload each dialogue until you win you don't even need high charisma you just need 5 minutes to reload the save over and over again
To get max level, you’d pretty much want max luck to gain max exp. then get perception and charisma to get the points for successful ones too. You could get clothing for the rest to jack up your points and get better chance at success in talks.
Yes it really does, thats why I always play the game in survival mode, so that I really only use persuasion where I'm pretty sure I can pass it or can live with the consequences of failing it.
@@FluffySylveonBoi I used to do that to. Then I promised myself I'd stop, and it greatly enhanced it. While you say you wouldn't be satisfied with fail, failing is what makes the success feel much more exciting. If all you allow is success and nothing but due to reloading, then the feeling of excitement is numbed down. Failure contrasts success.
@@scottmeager5919 I was the other way around, used to play games as they go, now I am interested in experimenting, not only save scumming for the sake of gameplay, but to understand mechanics of games better, for example old Final Fantasy games etc (Seeing when and why you have to fight a monster, how to alter combat choices etc) it fascinates me now, so I am trying to do every small thing in games to see what it does and it fulfills me :) Also I never felt diminished, because I still feel these fails even after reloads, because there are some complex strategies (for example killing a whole Enclave commando of 7 guys with 223 pistol in Fallout 2) that can only be done with save/load strategy and when I finally finish it after 3 hours of trying various things, I feel really good :)
one thing I hate about fallout 4 charisma checks is that you say the EXACT same thing, but has a chance to succeed or fail based on your charisma... tf

While it's not a bad video in any sense of the term, it's just kind of deceptive to the viewers who clicked on it thinking they were gonna see some Jedi Mind Trickery at work.
Lil Miss Jay Does it really matter, Mr. Pony-Man. The answer is no. How about you just shut your little mouth because nobody cares enough to read your whole essay on a funny fallout video.
yeah but have you considered fuck you though
+Mullokadz I did make a new video of this
Oh cool! Will check it out. :)
Lil Miss Jay Yea thats fallout 4's charisma system for you. I was expecting this to be a sarcastic video and show him having 10 charisma and failing the dialogue options.
Obsidian please help us.
Shit, man, comment section is so toxic. Why do you even bother reading?
Exactly the same opinion here :)
And comments are mostly garbage under anything, sadly.
Because people are uneducated (hell even educated are pretty bad too, they just hide it under a veneer of know it all snob) and form opinions on things they know nothing about.
Mister gives me motivation in life
Because the human always has hope, I have hope in finding something not toxic.
Because I have plenty of Radaway.
*Kellogg taking Shaun*
Me: No.
Kellogg: Oh shit, ok.
*Institute destroyed

I did a 10 charisma build and put on the militia hat in front of the museum of freedom.
I passed the speech checks here all without fail.
Then got to diamond city passed every speech check there to every damn quest.
Then I did the brotherhood quests.
When I convinced that brotherhood guy to rejoin the brotherhood without fail I got suspicious.
This check has always been known to be hard.
Then I learned 11 charisma is a 100% success.
"It looks like I gotta take what's mine by force" he says shortly after lowering his gun and handing over his money to an unarmed stranger
Been meaning to watch this 1 year ago finnaly not lazy
Gaming XP haha
Same actually.
SAME OMG It’s been in my recommended for over a year
Same
Me too
I find it pretty funny how triggered everyone got over 1 simple video
But it's just so poorly edited. Like, geez.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEE
It's not even edited apart from setting the start and end point
Wicked upload soon fellers
GTA5Player1 no edits I recorded this off of PlayStation
I raised my charisma in the early game alone, helped me a lot on the way of conversing yourself out of hostile situations. Pretty fun,
ua-cam.com/video/wtbcaWnybzs/v-deo.html ,,
" I'd love to help but I'd like to get paid. "
" You already have the paycheck from when you mugged me. "
Why is everybody is even triggered on this
Because RNG dialogue is scummy, save scummy
Of course the racist shitwad gets triggered by everything. Neo-nazis are literally born to hate and piss pants in rage.
What?
The replies just prove that humanity needs a good nuking. See you all in hell.
EazyE187um careful not to cut yourself on all that edge
You only use charisma is this game for extra caps.. it's not very useful other wise
Just the Black guy. That's exactly what I do and get the little xp for it.
Just the Black guy also lower shop prices, companion buffs, settlement augmentation, settling things peacefully, intimidation, taming of animals, getting uniques
Just the Black guy You can also get laid easier with high charisma (insert lenny face here)
You can skip entire quests with it too.
Why is it so luck based wtf? They know you will just reload.
The assumption by the developer is that most players won't spend literally hours of their time over the course of the game reloading quicksaves to get more caps or pass what are truly pretty meaningless charisma checks.
It's an assumption that means that control of the player is removed in favour of an easy to implement chance system. It's pathetic
iGod Lmao at you still using faggot as your go-to insult in 2017. Grow the fuck up.
It's bad design is what it is.
@@DoctorGeniusPHD
“Hours of their time” like 10 seconds?
High strength intelligence and perception give you special options too if you dont have high charisma.
That's every fallout game my guy. Having high charisma in fallout means you can do anything. I mean you can convince legate lanius to just fuck off at the battle of hoover dam
@@KalilIllinois more branching yeah but New Vegas becomes an insta win game with high charisma just like the other fallouts
@@JohnDoe-hj9fhmazing... Every single thing you said was wrong.
The OP was talking about accessing to branching solutions through INT and medicine checks, not charisma, which is a feature not present in 3/4/76
And charisma is not an autowin button mainly because you still need resources and equipment to *reach* legate lanius, which involves quite a lot of fighting
Of course, you can apply some strategies and some secondary quests to get companions, and minimize the amount of fighting you must do, but doing a specific build along the entire game to specialize on a skill is preeettyyyy different from an "auto win button" and requires foresight anyways
Heck, even picking all the [speech 100] options with lanius you can fail the conversation if you pick the wrong option
“JUST KEEP CALM ALRIGHT?!”
I love how he went from terrified, right back to a hardened criminal.
I never knew there was dialogue for stealing his caps, then demanding he pay you for your help. Really goes to show what they think of.
*walks up without guns and no body army showing no signs of being aggressive*
"DONT HURT ME"
the quicksave before saying anything is so real
“Just don’t do anything crazy”
*quick saves before doing something crazy*
Why do you pause for a few seconds between each option?
It's really jarring.
Mcdovin gives us a chance to read the dialogue I guess
Tim Dev no no, he’s got a point. This video would be much better without all the starts and stops
Hes quicksaving just in case shit hits the fan
He's a synth. His brain is still processing
Tim Dev ohh returned to sender 😂
Your character looks very similar to Scarface.
SEANN that's the default character face. I just made a new save and didn't change the face
so not at all?
? Did you even watched Scarface?
my character i purposefully fucked his face up hardcore and gave him 10 charisma
You look alot like Batman.
The best ending is the peaceful option. You gain two vendors plus Trashcan Carla hangs out there sometimes, making it a useful spot to dump loot or purified water.
Dr. Li:I will not work on liberty prime again
Nate: And what if you work?
Dr. Li: Oh, Sure, why not?
“If I help you, I expect to get paid.”
“I’d love to pay you…. But you took all of my money, remember?!”
LMAO
Max intelligence and endurance at the start are also great too, that way, you can maxamize your XP gain and health when you level up
Oooooof, that save scumming was painful.
Wow what a chill guy. He doesn't seem to mind at all that you just robbed him.
It's a SP game, who gives a fuck if he wants to use the save system to his advantage. If the developers didn't want it to be used this way, then they should've made a better system. Don't blame the player for playing within the game parameters.
madman2u the game lets you save mid-conversation... And people are offended that people abuse that.
Darrark Why would they be offended when it doesn't affect them or anyone else in any way
Darrark people are *offended* by the way some dude plays a game.
I'm so done man.
biggest plot twist: 1:32
Not only you can make wolfgang lay down his weapon and give you his money, but you also can tell him to buzz off, Trudy's reaction to that is priceless.
if you handle it peacefully Wolfgang becomes a vendor outside of trudy's
Max charisma choices in fallout 4
- ask for more caps
- ask for more caps
- ask for more caps
im confused why people dislike this?
I know right? Now I don't have to save-scum myself just to hear the dialogue, which I was curious about but not enough to actually make a balls-deep charisma build.
Personally I disliked it because if you have a high charisma build you can just run straight through every deep red dialogue charisma check in the game. This is not an example of high charisma. Therefore, dislike.
because if your gonna reload each dialogue until you win you don't even need high charisma you just need 5 minutes to reload the save over and over again
CooterPatrol have you even ever played a fallout game before lol
DoctorGeniusPHD you can't have a high charisma build at the begging of the game this guy is just showing what it can do at the beginning of the game
I still remember the time I had a normal charisma character and managed to talk the bandits into giving me what they have at that one diner.
Ah yes. It was high charisma and certainly no other feature that lets you metaphysically retry things until you get a better die roll.
What makes it even funnier is that the character just stepped out of the vault, so he doesnt even know yet that bottle caps are money LOL
the way bro kept quicksaving
To get max level, you’d pretty much want max luck to gain max exp. then get perception and charisma to get the points for successful ones too. You could get clothing for the rest to jack up your points and get better chance at success in talks.
high charisma is awesome, low prices, extra experience from speech checks, more money, best quest outcomes. Always worth it
In my opinion, quick saving like this takes the excitement out of these scenarios.
Yes it really does, thats why I always play the game in survival mode, so that I really only use persuasion where I'm pretty sure I can pass it or can live with the consequences of failing it.
In my opinion, it gives more excitement, because you know you can do it and it's fun when you do. I wouldn't be satisfied with fail :)
@@scottmeager5919 I was the other way around, used to play games as they go, now I am interested in experimenting, not only save scumming for the sake of gameplay, but to understand mechanics of games better, for example old Final Fantasy games etc (Seeing when and why you have to fight a monster, how to alter combat choices etc) it fascinates me now, so I am trying to do every small thing in games to see what it does and it fulfills me :)
Also I never felt diminished, because I still feel these fails even after reloads, because there are some complex strategies (for example killing a whole Enclave commando of 7 guys with 223 pistol in Fallout 2)
that can only be done with save/load strategy and when I finally finish it after 3 hours of trying various things, I feel really good :)
Different strokes for different folks I guess, but I do think it ruins the fun a bit
Being able to rob two chems dealers, unarmed and in a Vault suit is wild. That should have at least been a red speech check
You already know them quicksaves comes in clutch wen things go sideways.
one thing I hate about fallout 4 charisma checks is that you say the EXACT same thing, but has a chance to succeed or fail based on your charisma... tf
4:24 hol up
He just had a good gaming jumpsuit
Comes out of the vault and immediately became a wise guy
Lmao fr
High charisma then fails an easy yellow speech check
Is this what it's like to live as Neil Cicerega
What's the point of having high charisma if you're just going to save and reload anyway?
I like how you can straight up mug him, and then still side with him lol
*Quicksaves*
Trudy’s wallet: not again
it is very useful for the brotherhood quests...
Dallen TheGamer you still need the bobblehead And clothing for THAT Speech check
I honestly really liked F4. The writing isn't great; sure, but I have more fun with each re-play than I do with each previous run every time.
Everytime I play fallout 4 I always start with charisma and intelligence to max lol
Same, I know I'll load a save if I fail a speech check anyway, so why not save some time? And Intelligence just to level up faster.
This makes me want to play fallout right now. I'm kinda tired of playing online games rn
The power of a gaming chair.
But you just loaded back...
This is how to be Loki in Fallout
EVEN MORE MONEY
Damn, I didn't expect to see you here.
