The mod doesn't use the file "zmod.exe" anymore. Install the mod, configure your options and start the game normally.
Make sure your game is DW8XLCE and version is 1.0.4.0. On Github, make sure you download "4K/120 FPS for DW8XLCE (zmod v6.0.0)" and not WO4U zmod. The creator also made the mod for Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate as well.

Why?
Dynasty Warriors 8 XL Complete Edition's max resolution is 1080p. A user by the name of Fragonite created a tool to change and play this game in resolutions higher than 1080p.

The creator of the mod only made it work for DW8XLCE. Not entirely sure if hes doing it for the other games.

First the game must be DW8XLCE. Steam usually has the updated versions. If you don't own it on steam, you will have to go to the place you got it from and find the updated version.
