If there is one fighter I would say describes the warrior mentality, it’s Robbie. The Rory fight was the ultimate battle of will. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there isn’t a man that could’ve beat Robbie that night, that was a man truly on a mission.
@@kavinraj4689 Khabib didn’t take years off his life in the cage for our enjoyment. Robbie showed the depths of the human will defeating Rory. Khabib never faced the same level of adversity within the cage, he walked through his opponents. Better fighter? Most would argue, more entertaining? Almost no one would say.
He has two DECADES worth of wins in the UFC. including his incredible run at Elite Xc. He’s the man and hopefully the UFC sent him a huge retirement check. Always humble and a good example of what a Mixed Martial Artist should be.
met robbie a few days ago at bellator 298. So good to his fans man. it was me and my nephews first time getting to go to an mma event and it was better than i could have ever asked for.
Man…. Gotta admit I leaked a bit watching this. This guy was one of my first introductions to this sport over a decade ago. Sad and happy to see him go. Perfect ending!
Once upon a time I had the chance to meet both Lawler and Pettis when Pettis was champ… needless to say I have a picture with Robbie and none with Anthony. He’s a genuine guy 😢

If there has ever been a classier fighter in the UFC I'm not aware of it. The way he handled his "loss" to Askren put him on a pedestal for me, forever.
Had never been done and has not been done since. To give a man, a person, a fighter a montage of the career that that have accomplished while he is standing in the octagon. Robbie Lawler is a legend of the highest order.
Beautiful tribute. 290 was a superb event. I hope when the UFC brass are looking back at what they got right in 2023, they realize that 290 was what good, thoughtful matchmaking can accomplish
“Conserve your energy. If these doors open, we’re going to need every ounce of it.” - Robbie Lawler, 2023 while trapped in a bus and surrounded by armed and rabid protesters in NYC looking to hurt everyone inside.
Yeah that always moved me , especially because I've been a UFC/MMA fan since 1997, I seen the rise of Pat Miletich, and subsequently his team rise into it's elite status , representing the best heavyweights in the ridiculously underrated Sylvia, Matt Hughes of course ruled the welterweight division for ages before the torch was passed to GSP,, Jens pulver pioneered the light weight divisions, great fighters like Rich Franklin trained and voiced it's benefits to his success, of course there's Lawler himself and many other's, it's a truly seminal and important fight team that evolved the sport and should always be recognized as a pivotal part of MMAs maturation to it's present.

Interesting that the track they produced (or purchased?) for this montage follows the same chord progression as M83's Outro, used in numerous fan edits for this sport.
That was one of the most sweetest ending to a career I have seen. Lawler deserves it! ❤ Price is no joke. Happy Retirement Champ 🏆
No trash talk, no bs, all class… Robbie Lawler is a true, authentic savage.
And steroids
The UFC did Robbie right last night with that tribute. What a retirement fight, what a tribute, and what a fighter! Thanks for all the great fights💯
"Come back with your shield, or on it."
Robbie brought his home!
He better stay retired i swear 😩
I don’t care what happens for the rest of the night, I’m at peace now😌
Man im glad the UFC showed Lawler thr respect he deserves. What a legend and in my opinion the absolute epitome of a professional fighter.
Legends never die
Best 15 minutes. Last of the Mohicans walkout - vintage Lawler K0 - perfect montage. Doesn’t get better
