The system was actually introduced few months back. And it's indeed quite capable due to its mobility and its digital fire control system allowing for better precision.

If there's one nation that's smartly investing in its military, then that nation is China. For many decades, what we usually hear about is the might of the USA & Russia but China is now a military power as well. Many in the US government have acknowledged that China is a growing power. What makes China unique as compared to the other giants is the fact that China has very little debt compared to the US & others.

This weapon system is what is termed a self propelled mortar. Meaning the mortar is mounted in a vehicle. Much like a self-propelled gun is essentially an artillery piece that can drive itself around.

Mortar is an effective platoon weapon. With some mobility, and improved targeting,it can effectively imposed a threat.
The back with the mortar seems to bounce too much. Maybe need to add some quick deployable hydraulic legs to reduce the bounce. Else the suspension may not last. Otherwise, maybe deploy some kind of fluid suspension system.
That bounce is 'recoil' and it is a good thing. It absorbs the energy via fluid shock absorbers, resulting in longer life of the vehicle
Hard trees topple in a storm, flexible trees don't. Engineering can be deceptive, but there are plenty of good explanations on youtube etc. to explain why absorbing energy via shocks prevents fracture of the metal structures.
The hydraulic unit means the firing gear will take longer, which is non-essential for this mortar because the shells used are GPS-guided shells.
Bear in mind, it is not build for comfort, build for combat! 😅

These systems are impressive, but what's more impressive is the drone surveillance and feedback, allowing operators to actually zero in easily and hit what they need to without big waste of ammo, and more importantly, time. They need to shoot and be able to move and reposition, otherwise they get counter fired or even eat a long range missile from ground or even from air strike etc, since air strike missiles can easily go hundreds of km.

If anything this Ukraine vs Russia conflict is teaching, alot of offensive weaponry can get knocked out. These land based systems better start developing defensive capabilities too.
Getting the f**k out of their firing position is the best defense. Current radar technology can pinpoint where mortars and artillery are firing from.

Lol, china doesn't exist for 5000 years with no battlefield experience. China is the most experienced. Only modern times has been the longest break of like 40 years currently. But all the doctrine and everything else has always been there.
In that regard even usa has no experience in modern war vs peer competitor and modern equipment. Only Russia\ukraine and Azerbaijan\armenia can be considered modern vs peer competitor.
There's a reason why usa will never fight Russia head on. Both sides have advanced tech which can destroy the world, destroy all satellites, hit each other's homelands, etc etc. This also includes china but china has 10x more economy and people, and 100x more production capability.
Usa wont ever fight china unless it wants to go back to stone age. China just came from stone age and rebuilt back to modern in less than 50 years basically, and china has done this for 5000 years and always comes back. Usa has never even fought one war where it's mainland was even attacked, let alone invaded. So when usa mainland is taking massive damage, who knows. Usa will probably fold instantly like Japan did after two nukes. China however will never fold for anyone or anything. That's the difference in mentality. Usa takes a few thousand losses in life and already can't handle it and surrenders in Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, etc. Usa is weak in terms of morale and political capital it can expend on military losses on battlefield, let alone if the battlefield includes USA mainland and casualties include us civilians on a massive scale. All those guns will mean us civilians turn on themselves as soon as it gets tough. They are already divided as fuck even during peacetime, let alone wartime in a tough situation with no food, water or roads and all the luxuries they are used to. China on the other hand is united and will all help each other to survive. Struggle is Chinese people's middle name and they eat bitterness for breakfast lunch and dinner. And they enjoy the taste. Lol
