I do something similar to what Burnie does, but I use wet newspaper around the steak and then put it, while wrapped, on the BBQ before releasing it to grill some more. I also use mustard seed along with the pepper, salt and garlic.
Just have to say, lovely podcast and a lot of fun! I am a huge fan of these camera angle and to be able to see the podcast in a different way. Congrats Burnie on the first steak podcast win!
This podcast reinforces my belief that RT would be such a great company to work for. Even in the behind the scenes jobs I'd say there's just a nice atmosphere
That 'crazy' chick didn't sound very nutty at all. Going on the assumption that young children who get cancer, is due to a genetic fault, no matter what they had done, they would have gotten cancer. I think her only fault is her phrasing, she was saying from a genetic perspective, them getting cancer was not preventable, and that one should donate to help the children, and help produce technology to alter the underlaying genetic code that is at fault, and causing these issues.

How weird. I started the podcast and had to pause it right after Barbara and Gavin gave their scores. I came back an hour later and they went on eating the steak and my automatic reaction was disgust because they're eating cold steak. My brain thought this podcast was in realtime so I thought the steaks were cold lol.

In a very sad attempt to experience what Gav and Barb are, I made myself a bowl of Beef-flavoured Ramen Noodles... just not the same.
